Please enlighten me then, i have watched him a few times and he has never really seemed like an exceptional talent, he is your average mourinho winger, i don't mean it in a bad way but he is a squad player material not a starter and we don't need another squad player our squad has enough of those already.

Funny how people are defending us buying an average winger for 50m.
For 50m I'd want a player who can win a game by himself from time to time, not another workhorse.

Sorry but Perišić has been our most important players together with Modrić for few years now. So no, he's definitely not a player to fill a hole. Not at all. Our best player in Euro 16 and WC 2014... So you're wrong on both accounts, him filling a hole and being dull.
Every team have important players. Even Sunderland have important players, but we don't want them.
If you go through the posts you'll notice you're pretty much alone on this one. 50m euro for a squad player is just not going to happen. I will leave this discussion here with the feeling of you being a WUM/troll trying to take the fun out of our transfer window for summer 2017.

There are 4-5 wingers i would rather take than him for the money, but then again, i assume he is high on our list and think Inter will sell for a lower price. 40m is a good offer and Inter seem to not accept it, then move on to other 2 or 3 wingers and check their availability and price. Try again after a week for Perisic and see if something is possible. If not, then move onto the next targets and leave them with an unhappy player.

Some of the names here are thrown just for the sake of it. Basically every winger someone's heard out there. Forsberg, Anderson, Lemar (just potential at this point). Mahrez has yet to prove his best season wasn't flash in the pan.

Forsberg has been class mate, maybe one of my favorite wingers in that list. To me easily top three in the Bundesliga in the last season. he had 8 goals and 15 assists or something in 30 games. Great close control and tactically he's also brilliant fit for Mourinho.
Mahrez would probably come much cheaper and also is younger than Perisic, while obviously already had a great season in Premiership. This season he was a bit underwhelming - like the rest of the Leicester team but IMO picked it up in the spring.
Anderson is much younger, probably also much cheaper at this point, great speed and close control, while Lemar has a bigger ceiling than most of the guys mentioned.

Lucas, mahrez and anderson arent very good, definitely not better wingers then perisic. Sanchez and bale arent ever happening, neither is dembele or di maria. Forsberg, isnt he more a playmaker playing wide like Miki did for dortmund? Had a great season but we need a proper winger not another one of those.
Lemar would be an excellent signing I agree. Mertens has played more as a striker this season anyway, though probably his versatility would be a step above perisic. Insigne probably yeah but then again, Perisic is just so suited to mourinho, fast, strong, a good dribbler, can put in a good cross, can score goals, hard worker and then incredibly 2 footed. I'm all for signing him.
Makes you wonder how much someone like Fellaini is worth in this market. Similar amount?
Just as everyone around here expressing my opinion. If you don't agree it's fine, but won't bother responding to cheap digs.
All three of them are younger tho and one of Perisic biggest assets is pace. At 28 he will begin to slow down probably in couple of seasons or even faster if he picks up injuries.
Sanchez is likely to leave, where he would go is another matter, whilst I'd prefer to throw large sum of money for someone that is world class prospect (Lemar, Dembele) or household name like Bale, Di Maria, rather than Perisic.
If we bring Morata a winger cutting in would also make sense since it will be a pretty mobile frontline so Mertens/Forsberg makes also a lot of sense. Especially if we don't bring a #10.
We have a poor attack by our standards, with none of our wide men performing at an acceptable level and no real talisman to be found anywhere up front, and people want that to change.
It won't if one of our two attacking signings is Perisic.
