Di Marzio just said that Inter is ready to sell half their squad to keep him. Yes he's that shit

Half their squad are shite and worth nothing. They're just trying to squeeze more money out of us for him.

Yeah, sounds like them playing hard ball. I wonder if we have other targets in mind. There's one or two other direct pacey wingers out there.

Di Maria another shot under Mourinho maybe?

Was chatting about this the other day to my mate and we both agreed we would have him back for a good price. He'd be great in a midfield of Pogba Fabinho and ADM against the smaller teams at OT.

Considering how bad half the squad is, their thoughts and prayers count for little.

coming from supporters who support a team who tend to play the likes of Smalling, Jones, Rooney and Fellaini we do sound arrogant. We're closer to the likes of Inter then the top dogs (ex Real or Juventus)

No so sure about that.

We didn't finish bottom of a EL group that had Southampton, Hapoel Be'ersheva and Sparta Prague. Our "bad season" included winning the thing. As well as a domestic cup. Inter were atrocious on all fronts. Despite no cup comps since new year they managed to finish 7th in a league where bar the top 3 the rest are very mediocre. They don't have a top 6 with the strength of the EPL. And not to mention the measurable difference in financial muscle and lure between the two clubs.

Opinions and all that. But for me, as far as we are from Juventus, we are definitely closer to them than Inter.

EDIT: Though we also need a clearout of some sub-par players. No doubt

Inter's problems are endemic and goes way beyond the quality of their team. Considering the money they spend they had been underachieving for the past 30 years

Their problems go beyond the quality of the team, but that's where they are most clearly observable. They go and buy 10 players every year and only a couple are of the quality required to move them forward.

They bought Joao Mario, Eder, Candreva, Gagliardini, Jovetic, Brozovic, Gabriel Barbosa, Miranda, Ansaldi and Dodo this year alone. Of those only Gagliardini and Miranda have been good, while the jury is still out on Joao Mario. The rest have been massive failures. They take a huge scatter gun approach to transfers and fill their squad with mediocrity.

Compare that with us where we signed a targeted 4 players this season and they've all been successes. Even when the players have not been successes we still have a very targeted approach. We don't just buy anything. The ones you mentioned as our bad players (Smalling, Jones, Rooney, Fellaini) have been here for years have won plenty of stuff including league titles. They were transfers of much better quality than the average Inter transfer.

I would give the go ahead for 35 million. Maybe 37 million. But anything above 40 million is madness.

we've had a scattered gun approach during Moyes and LVG admin. SAF's last signings didn't exactly cover themselves in glory either. We're not as badly managed as Inter are. There again when Inter used to throw loads of millions in the gutter they ended up with titles and a CL. We can't even do that

I think he isnt even wort 35 million to be honest. I trust Jose but I feel we really should be aiming higher than Perisic

What are you even talking about?

Ok, no point debating that further then...

Everybody in Germany will be like: They want to pay what for Perisic. Is there another Perisic?

Though I am surprised he´s only 28.

Yeah, we should trust RedCafe experts who have seen him play in highlights :D. Anyone below Messi's or Neymar's level is shit :D

Which parts you disagree upon? SAF's last signings were mostly not good enough or not what we needed in long term. Moyes transfers brought to United a player whose more suited to Bolton and a Chelsea reject we cant really fit him anywhere and the least said about LVG's horrible signings the better

My impression is that Inter are expecting us to foot the bill for this year's FFP. United refuse to do so (and rightly so). If Inter can avoid selling Perisic then they will. There again, is it wise to keep an unhappy player at the club?

All I will say is, we can do so much better with that money, than spend it on a meh winger that will be thrown on the pile of the scrap heap, along with young, fellaini, lingard etc. We are in the CL, not a qualifier but in the group stages itself, our hand is much stronger attracting the players we need to improve positions that are weak.

He's not unhappy...

I think Perisic and Morata are high on that Jose's wish list. If we do get them, they will improve us, but Inter and Madrid will fleece us on the other hand.

I think he will be great for us. Will be one of those work horse type wingers like Willian that does a great job and just delivers match after match.

Also it will be great to finally have a hug the touchline type of winger again that wants to take his man on, tired of all the inside forwards and #10's \ strikers posing as wingers.

The turd that won't flush. No for real, if Mourinho likes him then i'm confident he will be important to us.
Not a glamorous signing in any way, but he will give us something we haven't had for a long time.

He's basically a left-footed Lingard with a better end product. I just hope that's not the writing on the wall for Martial.

Only since we sold Nani, Di Maria, Zaha. So its been only 1 year since we had an out an out line hugging winger. People exaggerate a lot.

He isnt, firstly it shows you dont really watch him as he is rightfooted but brilliant with both feet. He's a far better dribbler, more skillful and stronger than Lingard too. Their shootinf and finishing is a bit similar, inconsistent but can be good.

Lingard's shooting is consistently crap, so I hope Perisic's isn't similar.

Nani hardly played for us since falling out of favour under Sir Alex 4 years ago? Zaha?? you're counting some guy who made all of 2 sub appearances for us in his Man Utd career. Even Di Maria under LvG played in several positions rather than strictly a winger before being benched for the latter half of his only season.

Lingard has scored some crackers for us since his first pre season tour (where he scored one or two), but he is wildly inconsistent with it. Perisic is a bit more consistent and can do it too, but still not consistent enough for it too be a real weapon I think. Just like Pogba.

irrelevent. who is to say Perisic will be any better. Point is, people act like Perisic is one of a kind, the only line hugging winger in Europe. we have had many, but for various reasons (idiot managers) they never got used right.

TBF I would love a player of Nani's calibre and ilk atm. Someone who takes risks and divides opinions. Perisic isn't really that type of player though, which is why I'd prefer Costa who also is a proper winger.

Lingard has more pace and better all round player. Serie-a made him look fast, but when he was in bundesliga he barely ran behind defender.
If Jose just wanted a far better dribbler, skillful, and stronger than Lingard he should bring Memphis back, not splashing stupid millions for him.

Do you remember Memphis playing for us? He couldn't beat his man for shit and his defensive contribution was zilch.

Perisic is very good at beating his man, plus he gets up and down the flank a lot.
