So we've been negotiating with Inter for a month and Mourinho went to Croatia in March yet according to some this is a panic buy in response to Bernardo Silva joining City.

panic buy? Behave. If we miss out on our first choice Cb and go for Keane, it doesnt mean he is a panic buy.

I can see us getting rinsed for this. I imagine that Mourinho said to Woodie that he wants these players and he doesn't care how much it costs. Given that Mou is away and disconnecting from football he won't be able to tell Woodie if a price is too high for a certain player or not, and Woddie will just want to get the player.

I just can't make any sense out of this signing (if we do end up signing him). We already have Martial and Rashford who are natural left sided attacking players. Even if Rashford plays as No.9 next season, Where will Martial play ?

Does that mean the end of his career at United ?
Jose doesn't seem to rate Martial very highly so not sure that's a factor.

I'm sure Woodward is still in contact with him.

The price is almost irrelevant. We already have the workhorse quota filled and Perisic doesn't add an awful lot beyond that, Martial and Mkhitaryan are both better footballers than him.

Whether he costs €35m or €55m, Perisic isn't going to consistently carve teams open or help us challenge for the Premier League title.

Inter are taking the mickey with that valuation.

We need his agent to start throwing chairs around.

All I am thinking right now is three at the back next season. If indeed we are after Griezmann it would make sense it's the only formation that allows us to play him in his best position without losing defensive solidity and Pogba has also played in it for most of his career. This is what makes the most sense for me

Pogba, Bailly, Mkhitaryan and Zlatan. Yeh, I'm happy to trust Jose here.

I doubt that's the case. I suspect Woodward and Mourinho will be in contact with each other over certain details etc, even if Woodward's doing most of the work. It certainly wouldn't be an ideal approach if our manager is basically disconnected completely from the ongoing details of a major transfer.

If it means we go for a better player, i am all for missing out on him, especially for the fee Inter want. Well the fee will probably go down a bit, but he will be a left wing back for Conte.

I dunno, Mourinho's never really gone with that approach too often, has he?

Do you think Martial and Rashford were good enough in that position this season to earn the spot for next year?

Come on Chelsea, pay a ridiculous 40-50 mill for him & take him off our hands... first time I really want a rival to beat us to a player xD Sky Italia saying Inter want between £48 - £55mill for him..

I'm intrigured now that Chelsea are also interested in him does he suddenly become a good player to some people? Not sure why they need him though.

According to some Ed is dumber than a box of hair.

Oh I dunno, Jose has said he wants him so Ed will just go ahead and pay 200mil for him because Jose is on holiday so not around to tell Ed to stop being ridiculous. Obviously.

I like perisic have since his Wolfsburg days.

Think he will be a very good addition and adds something different to our current wing options.

Are you serious?

Not necessarily. Perisic and Rashford aren't going to be playing every game; with a number of competitions etc we'll almost certainly rotate, and then there's always the chance we'll be hampered by injuries, or that Martial will impress when he is given a chance. Might not bode well for Martial, but then if he excels he'll have a decent chance of playing fairly often.

It really depends if we sign a #9 or not. If we don't it means Rashford will play upfront most games.

But if we do sign a #9 then I expect Rashford to get most of his games from LW, like he did last season while Ibra was fit. That would push Martial to 3rd in the pecking order for LW behind Perisic and Rashford, maybe even Mkhi if we take the EL games into account. And he would also be behind the new striker, Ibra (when/if he's back) and Rashford for the #9 spot too.

It certainly wouldn't bode well for him at all. Basically if we sign Perisic and a striker then Martial would probably be better off angling for a move as he would have been pushed further down the pecking order in both positions he plays.

What I saw in youtube clips, Perisic beating his man on the left and delivering first time crosses. Taking on his man every time and running with the ball. I guess that is what Mourinho wanted Martial to do all season along. That was what Martial used to do last season, I don't know what happened to him this season. Martial however doesn't have a left foot like Perisic to whip a killer ball in the box.

Just answer to that in above post. Sadly something happened to Martial this year.

It must be Ed's face and the calamity of the first window that he is perceived to be some idiot in charge when in fact he has delivered every year since the first.

Nah, Chelsea are only interested to make us buy him for even more money. Then they sit back and laugh that we purchased this god awful player that can't lace his boots, let alone kick a ball.

Am I doing it right?

That's because its youtube compilation, they won't include his simple passes back to the player.

Yeah maybe something to do with massive expectations, new manager and being young

Perisic, the already cult player.

I want him now, because so many of you don't want him.

Looks like a slightly better Ashley Young.
