Ivan Perisic

Perisic isn't even a top 5 winger in the serie a, he's a workhorse with questionable end product. We should be after that Salah bloke, he's looking like the Egyptian Gareth Bale over there. Didn't he come to the prem for a while? who was the fool who sold him without giving him a chance?

On a serious note though i think Jose needs to think long and hard about the team he want's to turn us into. If he tries going down the budget Chelsea route, playing a low block game in game out with a load of lanky hard working runners then OT won't give him the atmosphere that he has been begging for this season. He promised us attacking free flowing football and players capable of delivering that like Martial have been turned into 2nd fullbacks, Perisic is ready made for that position but i'm not sure that's a good thing at a club like United.

Perisic scored 10 league goals last season and is apparently shite but Caf darling Silva scored 8 for Monaco and is the next Messi.

This place.

Why the obsession with Silva, who gives a feck about him? Perisic isn't an unknown player, people will have an opinion about him.

£43 million sounds steep. 36 million sounds semi-reasonable.

As do all wingers, he also beats players A LOT, which is something we dont have.

We played with Martial and Rashford on the LW for most season. Both can beat players aplenty. Decision making and final product is what we're missing more, not dribbling.

It's a ploy..
Not really. In fact I was going back on the Inter board to when the first Perisic rumors surfaced and they had a blast taking shots at EPL fans for underrating him and by the looks of it rightly so.
Many of them simply have a very poor knowledge of anything other than premier league.
I have a liverpool friend that tells me henderson is one of the best midfielders right now. There's nothing like EPL fans.
Those United fans are idiots...lordy
Says the fan of the team that can't even qualify for CL.

He even tried to do it with C.Ronaldo who told him to feck off. They ended up not talking to each other and JM still had to play him and let him do whatever he wanted because at RM Ronaldo was bigger than JM by a country mile.

This is on point, not only is he very average despite what Youtube scouts think, he's symbolic of the kind of shit outfit we'd be building towards.

Anytime ive watched Croatia he impressed me hes strong, fast, pretty big too, tracks back, genuine left footer, basically a hard working left winger.

We've let alot of players go in the last few windows its time we start stocking up on proven internationals. We have so much youth we need a mixture I understand fans been underwhelmed by the potential signing but who knows he might just be the first of 5 signings.Surely us qualifying for the CL will add a few extra pound to the transfer kitty.

Regardless hes a definite upgrade on Lingard so I trust Mourinho.

Yeah, he lasted 1 season and then Jose broke him, look at him now under Conte who isn't using him as a dogsbody, Jose has already started this with Martial, breaking him down, it's why he likes Rashford and Lingard so much, they are willing to give up their game to serve is obsessions.
Its not an obsession

You translated them?

Nothing against Perisic but I wouldn't pay the amount Inter want. I know it's not my money and all that but if Juve were after him theyd probably get that cnut for 3 year loan without paying his wages.

He's 28 going to 29 half way through next season. Seems a lot of money for a player his age.

Been watching his videos on Youtube and even though you cannot take them as proof of quality you sure as hell cant call him average from watching them. Basically he has been Fellainied already for a few typical Cafe reasons. Some Croatian poster didnt rate him oddly outside his national team appearances and that was enough for posters on here to build on calling the lad average. His stats have him comfortably above 7 for the entire season which would suggest he id a decent player. He seems like he can beat Italian defenders enough to get crosses in. So my theory is he isnt a sexy enough name for the naysayers on here and therefore he is labelled as average.

Stats here.

His name is nothing to do with it, its his skillsets and ability. Someone usually has a good name, due to their capabilities. He is nearly 29 and thus has been around for a while, so we know what he can and cannot do.

here are Mohamed Salah stats just for comparison https://www.whoscored.com/Players/108226/Show/Mohamed-Salah

7.52 rating in Serie A to Perisic's 7.21, 15 goals, 11 assists in Serie A for Salah. I don't even think Salah is the level of wide player we need and he of course has bad previous with Jose.

Perisic averages 1.1 successful dribble per league game. Hazard averages over 4.
Perisic is not a player a side who wants to become great, ought to be forking out large sums on. If he is squad rotation then fine, but we are spending 1st team cash on him

Josh Harrop would be a better player ahead of Perisic and it's not even the fact he scored a goal on his debut it's the fact that he has more talent and he would be willing to do everything for the team just like Perisic would.

Add another manager in FM to rich clubs and sell unwanted player for big money to them so as to sponsor the big signings.

This is how it feels reading this rumour.

Tell me you are joking?

Nailed it.

I don't think Harrop would immediately be better than him, but if we can't get the absolute top players this window then I'd give the likes of Harrop, Mitchell and co a chance. I'm sick of us buying average players.

Every time I've watched Inters games in the last few years he's been really good, so I'm not as disappointed as the majority of the posters here. Only thing I'm concerned with is the price. £36M is way to much for him, but I guess that Ed knows what he's doing.

Tell me you are joking?

Why? The nobs that keep saying "Oh he's not fancy enough for you, FM head" don't get it, I think plenty of United fans would be fine with giving one of our Academy players a chance if the alternative was £43M on a bang average nothing player who's nearly 29.

Academy should be used to fill up the squad i agree. I much rather have Lingard that came through all the ranks than buy foreigners that are slightly more talented

Bang on. Unfortunately the second weakness listed on Salah's whoscored page is the only thing Mourinho cares about in his wingers and it's the reason that he falls out with the top one's he has managed like Ronaldo and Hazard. Being a fullback in a Mourinho team must be the easiest job in the world.

Exactly, if we can't get actual top quality players then just give the kids a shot rather than spunking huge sums on mediocre journeymen.

Its more like £43 million lol

Because one is a seasoned international and the other is 20 year old who just made his debut. We already have plenty young players in and around the team. Signing Perisic will add experience.
