Ivan Perisic

I imagine most assumed he was doing it this season to push through. With the transfer budget and availability of targets you'd have hoped defensive wingers weren't on the list to comprise our squad for next season.
I hope you don't think Perišić is a defensive winger?

The whole thing is built on Jose attending to one Inter game.

New week will bring new names, so it's probably good time to go on vacation like Jose did and come back after few more weeks of media playing the guessing game.

I've only realised this based off Sky...

Sky are full of shit and have been for about 5 years.

Why get so hung up on ages or transfer fees? United seldom take into account resell value and if you sign a player for £30m+ (irrespective of his age) and you go on to achieve demostic/European success, the figure pales.

People are acting like this is coming out of a tight budget. It's long been reported that the club will spend as necessary.

He's 28, not 36 ffs.

People get so get up when a player nears 30.

Also, our current winger is Lingard.

And off the back off the last season, would you say he is a 40 million attacker? he is also 28. like signing Kevin Mirallas

Mourinho tends to sign older players so it's not really something to get hung up on. We're lacking in experience as it is.

I like your sense of humour and hope because I like many on here have been left rather confused, and very very disappointed by this rumour. I wouldn't say we are in meltdown territory because there is more business to be done and a whole 3 months left of disappointments to follow. But the thought spending 1/4 of our budget on him  In the Griezmann thread, there were some posters who were against the idea of Man Utd spending half our budget on a player that was ranked 3rd in the world and scored 100 goals in 4 seasons, in a non CF role. well SURPRISE mother feckers!
I'd be quite disappointed too, especially with Bernardo in the wrong side of Manchester, but I believe Jose knows better than me. Also I have no idea if rumoured ~35 million would be a quarter of our budget.

So much negativity. You would think he was replacing Messi. Lingard plays for us on a Regular basis, I highly doubt that Perisic is a downgrade
He's a huge upgrade, it's pretty obvious who has and hasn't seen him play, he's a good player and he'll improve us. Sure he's not flavour of the month but he'll fit into our system better than most.

Darmian and Perisic on our left side of attack
With Mendy possibly off to City, this is very feasible.

Lingard on the right, Perisic on the left

You will see this on many occasions.

Just need Dier and Keane to complete the holy trinity.
star quality is overrated.

These posts cracked me up but obviously you never know how a player will perform. He may become Sanchez . But clearly, after the money touted in our kitty and the bravado about building a team to challenge at the highest level, this is an awkward start to say the least.

Yep, it feels like he's going to build a side that plays like his tumescent Inter and Chelsea 2.0 side.
An Inter fan recently referred to him as Jose's new Goran Pandev, which is disappointing.

It's all speculation but deep down you know that it is a very likely acquisition

£36m+ add ons for Perisic seems a bit far fetched.

His highlight reels on YouTube are highly annoying. Doesn't seem to be able to cross a football to save his life

Yup, you clearly haven't seen him play.;)

It's going to a long summer with this overreaction on each transfer

We are just overreacting to feel alive, nothing serious.

You have to play for Monaco for that to be the case on the Caf.

Not over the moon with this news, but he's looked like a solid player every time I've seen him play. Ticks all the boxes with respect type of player we're missing. He's tall and strong, looks to win the ball, which are qualities that Jose likes in a player. Has got two good feet so he brings a little variety to our attack because he's as comfortable cutting in as he's going wide and crossing, plus he stays wide which is again something we've been missing this season. Has decent pace too.
May not be the signing that changes our fortunes in terms of attack, but there's very little chance of him flopping here. For around 35m GBP, I say yes. You guys are just overreacting.

Worst transfer rumour since Gaitan, and the least muppetastic signing ever should it somehow materialise. Very underwhelming if he's the level of player we're looking at.

Makes a nice change to see a shit YouTube vid. Most seem like the second coming of Pele and Maradona

Were people convinced Bailly would be a good signing when we bought him? Or did they react the same as with Perisic?

Mourinho hasn't got a transfer wrong as of yet, so if he does sign, let's save judgement until he plays for us.

Not really encouraging if that's one of his standout match compilations. Tap in, insane challenge from Rugani, chokes Cuadrado and a lot of examples of the lack of end product Inter supporters talk about.

I've only seen him play a handful of times, so it's hard to say whether or not it would be a good signing. What's interesting to me is his age. You see Guardiola trying to build a young core of forwards with his signings that will develop and mature together (Sane, Jesus, Silva) and then you see Mourinho opting for forwards either in the prime or at the tail end of it (Mkhi, Perisic, Zlatan). I wonder how much that has to do with Mourinho either not having the patience/ability to go through the same process as Guardiola or Guardiola having more room for error than Mourinho.
3 season limit

Yep, very similar type of nothing player.

Yeah I fully expect it to happen along with some lump up top and some 6 foot 5 DM trudger for midfield.

Come on! He's 22 and a potential captain not 28/9

I don't care who we sign, at what price or at what age.

So long as we win football matches.

Stop being dramatic and pining for the latest toy.
