What winger would you sign?It really wont. Robben is one of the best players in the world; Perisic is nowhere near that level.

Everyone gets lucky onceThe Sun were spot on about Lukaku and beat the RedCafe greats like Di Marzio to the news.
Custis is a grade A c**t but usually very good when it comes to Utd.Everyone gets lucky once

Will be just like having Robben, even looks like him a bit.
Lemar is a central player that can play in a wide position. He doesn't have the pace or shooting ability that Perisic does in my opinion. It would appear that none of the heavy hitters are on the market but I'm sure that there are plenty of better options than Perisic out there; Lemar is probably available at that price for example.
Isn't Robben famous for cutting inside and shooting?

i agree 100 % with that! Theres too many bull shitters out there but at least curtis from time to time gets something right, horrible man though!Custis is a grade A c**t but usually very good when it comes to Utd.
This is ridiculous the stick he gets on here. I would imagine some people just haven't seen him play or haven't noticed we don't actually have a left winger that's not Ashley young. An actual winger ( not a Centre forward playing on the wing). He will add alot to the team he has pace to burn , he is a work horse and most importantly he is very much a Jose type signing.
As a wide player Perisic has more strings to his bow. Lemar is a very good player but in my opinion best suited to a central roleHe played mostly on the left hand side last season. I rate him a lot higher than Perisic like, although I'm sure some will disagree.
Incidentally, I think we overrate pace as a fanbase. How fast a player is physically doesn't matter as much when most teams defend against us from the off.
Ok, mate. We just disagreed on some points. But don't you think 50 or 48m for Perisic is overpriced? I know it's not our money, and the manager should get what he needs. But then, this is a forum where fans discussing things.
I'm not against signing Perisic, as our play down the wings are horrible, last season. I'm just expecting us to get better player at the quoted price. At cheaper price on 25m, like you said, would make his signing more acceptable as a gamble given his profile and fans expectation.

No if he was good enough to spend 50m on, then the caf would love him. Doesnt matter if he is from Spain, Brazil or Antartica. If he was Brazilian or Spanish everyone would love him. This is the caf
This and especially bolded part. I think that biggest problem with him is his price. For 30 mil everybody here would be delighted. I agree that price is unreal for him but most of transfer fees last couple of years don't have any sense so...This is ridiculous the stick he gets on here. A common knock against the "philosophy" teams on that they never have a Plan B. We've seen it firsthand that when you are only able to attack in a certain way, teams have a better chance of stifling you. With someone like Perisic added, I think we have a true winger who gives us a different facet and that makes things more difficult for opposing team. Whether he's an automatic starter or not - or most of our players tbh - I think that should be determined by how well they play. If he comes in and is a big hit, linking up all the time with Lukaku, will anyone complain? He definitely does add something different to the team and yes I do think it would be nice to have a DM in the team for pogba. I think that's a fair comment but the only thing is I don't think pogba changes our style but can still fit into the team.
Hows his crossing?
We had but we left it a little too long that a skin membrane had formed so we will have to break through again I think.Have we made a breakthrough yet?
You're a Croat and even you don't rate him? Bodes well. What an underwhelming signing.
I'm just going along with the programme.
So does Walcott, Zaha, Chamberlain etc. What is indisputable is that he got the accleration, speed and power to be successful, but let's wait and see.
Like any other new signings let's give him two three month to adapt before you make your final judgement.
wtf? He is 31! He should be dead by now!I'm sure the caf would sooner have Luka Modric in the side than any Brazillian central midfielder you could name.
Almost as good as Ashley Young but better.Hows his crossing?
This place is gonna be fun when he gets the #7
Heck, give him the #7, I wanna see the caf's reactions. This place is gonna be fun when he gets the #7
I completely agree. There is nothing wrong with buying players who are that age or older. We've seen what the likes of Zlatan can do so if they've got the right attitude and look after themselves there's no reason players in that age range can't be a viable option. If we get 4 to 5 years service out of him I'd be very happy.Yeah, he's 28. He's going to be playing at a good/decent level for the next 4-5 years. He's not past his prime, he's well into his prime. It's a shame we did not get him 2-3 years earlier but it is what it is, it's a nice signing and good luck to him.
Maybe Mourinho should ask if Palace and Valencia are up for giving them back for the craicPersonally would have preferred to have kept Zaha and Nani and still had £30m in the bank to strengthen further.
