I know you're being deliberately simplistic, but still, thats a shamefully reductive way to look at our side, especially given the different types of attacking talent our side possesses.

Great example! My point exactly. Shaqiri is great for Stoke. But get him into MU, if we are to be a top club, not a 6-7-th one, or get him into City, Juve and he will be out of place. He does not cut it at top level.

As for Salah, he had a much better campaign last year, he is younger and he costed like around 10 millions less. He is on a lower salary that Perisic will be either.
'Deadwood' is harsh - Perisic was one of their better performers last season. I agree re Keita Balde though - superior player and 6 years younger. Great deal for Inter.
It's getting ridiculous I bet majority of posters have never seen him play full 90 mins. Yes, Perisic is not the best player in the world but is more than capable to be a very good player for us and is exactly a type of player we need. £40M is an average price for any player nowadays especially if the buying club is from EPL. Some people need to stop overreacting as if he is worse than Bebe.Balde is much younger and already is a better player. That kind of players can progress. Perisic might be an okay player best-case scenario. He is 28 already and will not develop his game. The question is how quickly will he decline.

Perisic scored 11 last season, so he is a goal threat of sorts. He'll offer another dynamic in attack that hopefully helps create goals too.

Everyone has a pattern of play, with a striker likr lukaku you cannot expect deft one twos and him beating three defenders to score. It would be stupid to think with the players we are signing we are not looking for crossing and scoring along with pace in the counter.
