Ivan Perisic

Like all our attackers except Ibrahimovic. But only Martial's stock dropped significantly on the Caf. His end product was on a similar level to Rashford's but the latter is rated much higher.
I think many (on this forum at least) rate Martial highly after his first season and want him to step it up this coming campaign. He seemed very closed off last season for some reason and need to come out of his shell and up his game.

There is nothing to support those claims beyond Mourinho being in croatia (and watched a game that perisic was absent from) and meeting with Mijatovic who is not Perisic's agent AFAIK.
“I'm here for the weather, in Manchester is always rainy.”

Not sure I've ever wanted a potential signing to perform brilliantly more than this lad, the stick he's got on here has been embarrassingly over the top.
I agree, he's somewhat of an underdog and while I can see why some people don't rate him, I see qualities in him we have been lacking for some seasons and really want to get behind him.

When Inter want to buy one of our players in the future, I hope we give them hell.

We seem to be getting better in that respect these days. I guess we have such a high turnover of players recently that the loyalty side (letting players go for less so they can get higher wages) doesn't really come into it as much anymore. Also how many of the current players have been good servants basically? We also finally seem to be putting buy back clauses into young players contracts too....
back to perisic. Why isn't this done yet?

Might not have put it in quite such strong terms but I agree, it will be sweet if and when Mourinho is vindicated on this one. Plus I have a soft spot in my heart for hard working, unflashy wingers. I remember years ago there was an ongoing debate on here about which winger people preferred: the technically gifted and flashy but frustrating Nani vs the limited workhorse Valencia. Always came down on Valencia's side in that one. If he gives his all and does his job as instructed I reckon fans will warm to him.

Martial by his standards had a poor season but in the league he was still our productive winger (per minutes) better than Rashford(САF's darling), Mkhitaryan, Mata and Lingard(who is the worst of the lot but somehow manages to receive very little criticism).

Strange and unfairly enough he's the one most likely to be replaced above others and i can make do with that but i'd be much happier if we aiming for players a class or two above the likes of Perisic.

He does not.

He had decent stats but it was in a league where Alejandro Gomez had sixteen goals and ten assists. He was also 'outperformed' by the likes of Salah, Callejon and Immobile.

The stats aren't that impressive when you consider just how average that league really is.

United's attack was average last year. Overall, Perisic would be another dimension that is sorely lacking at United. He's a player Jose and staff have identified for a reason. More so than Lemar, Dembele or insert FM/FIFA/Young player flavor of the month here. We need reinforcements and a strategy of hope or "we'll just pay more" isn't a strategy at all. Perisic fits and he's attainable. If it happens, we will move forward and those who we want or need to perform at specific levels (i.e. Martial and Mkhitaryan) need to step up.

He will my friend, he will. The guy is massively under rated.

This is payback for our decade long refusal to let them even speak to Ryan Giggs. Literally, I think they first wanted him in 1994, and the last time they tried was around 2004/05.

Perisic provides another option with so many games to play. I know I'd rather have Perisic starting our games rather than any of our other wingers except for Mkhitaryan.

Last season Zlatan missed too many chances for my liking and thought he was average. Perisic should hopefully give our attack a different dimension and I think Lukaku will love playing with him.

I haven't seen this lad play ever so basically anything I say is just gathered from what I've read, which can be dangerous. But the one attribute attributed to him which I like is he apparently has blistering pace. I really fee we have lacked that option esp with the likes of Mata, Miki on the wing. Even Martial and Lingard, they are both quick, but we don't seen them enough just use their pace to get by a full back. Martial has it in his locker, just doesn't always take it out with him. Rashford of course has, but he's not a winger, he might develop into one, but right now, not good enough to play on the wing consistently for us.I feel a real injection of pace on the flanks could be a good thing esp as Jose teams tend to prefer to play on the counter

Aren't the writers of that site a little confused that he isn't holding up a red shirt yet? And that they are now writing about Martial being in a deal when they said a price was agreed weeks ago?

Martial isn't gonna leave this season so it's pointless to discuss this report.

Inter taking the piss now!!!!

Inter Director of Football Walter Sabatini held a press conference in Brunico on Friday releasing some transfer updates regarding the nerazzurri.

One of the most debated issues of the summer is the future of Ivan Perisic with the Croatian winger who is known to be a top transfer target of Manchester United.

“Spalletti doesn’t want him to leave but Inter only keep players who are happy to stay. Manchester United’s interest is very strong but they know what we think about the future or Perisic. We decide Perisic’s price-tag and we’ll only sell him for a fair exchange [Sabatini hints that Inter may also accept a player-plus cash swap deal]. Perisic is an amazing player and I hope he will always have the right behaviour here.”

"Manchester United have many strong players but we decide the player's price-tag."

“AC Milan are not a role model to us. We don’t sign players as a reaction to signing of other clubs. I admire them but we’ve taken our own path, we know what it takes to improve this team. AC Milan have decided to shake up the team, we haven’t and fans must be aware of that. This is a solid group and I hope new signings will change ‘bonds’ inside the dressing room.”

At max it will be Darmian.

 Martial plus cash? feck this transfer saga right in the ass. What does Jose even see in this guy, apart from endless crossing? And he's 28 ffs. Aaagh.

That Martial bit is funny. I don't care if we end up spending what, 45m on him. He's what Jose wants. An actual winger, good with both feet, probably has the mentality of a warrior too given Jose wants him so much.

I'd imagine he'd be our first choice on the right wing. With Martial/Rashford fighting for the left forward slot.

There's no way we swap one of the most promising young players in Europe for a 28 year old winger (and I'm a Perisic fan). Serious questions would need to be asked if that happened.

Yeah, it's not even a slight possibility. It's like us asking for Bale + 50m for de Gea.

I think he will be playing from the left and Mkhitaryan from the right. Martial and Rashford will have to make due with the minutes they can get in any position being it left right or center but they simply aren't good enough atm to be nailed on for a starting position.

Feel exactly the same.

There is absolutely no perspective on here at times.

And Perisic already is? He hasnt kicked a ball in the premier league but sure he will start right away.
