Destination unknown? Any other reason he might post something like this unless it was for a transfer? I don't want to get sucked in until I see something legit but not sure why he might post this otherwise

We clearly aren't watching the same thing. I mean he's no Alexis Sanchez, but the first half of the video showed that he can beat a player or two to deliver the ball from out wide, is two footed, intelligent, has great passing range and vision, and works hard defensively.
Sure it didn't look flashy without the goals and assists as his teammates kept missing easy shots, but the goals were clearly reserved for the second half of the video.
Perisic is the perfect signing if we get the price right as he is a polished no nonsense winger compared to Martial. Yet at the same time he isn't that big of a name where he'd expect to play every game. Which would allow Mourinho to play and develop Martial without costing us points when we need them.
Also why would he translate it to English rather than say Italian.
Yeah, doesn't strike me as the type of guy that will just feck with people and give them false expectations.
The rumoured price really is outrageous but in terms of skill set I think this guy looks absolutely perfect for us. He's genuinely ambidextrous and it could make him a huge threat in wider areas, especially with Lukaku now playing up top.
Sigh, I better get used to it. We are getting him. Either way I hope it gets resolved soon, so we can focus on getting a defensive midfielder next.

Judging from the YouTube comps, he seems very 'clean' technically, like his footwork is always assured and on point. Which is actually very nice to look at. Maybe because he is two footed and not afraid to cut either way. Only negative is his age but imo in our team he would be unique. Similar player from the past would be Nani.
You do realise Mourinho has fecked up big time in the past, in regards to signing wingers ya? Also it's a football forum, the man can be forgiven for not having the same opinion as yourself.
He is exactly what we need and would be great with getting the crosses to Lukaku.

The main thing I gathered from this video is that there is a team out there in an European top league with worse finishers than us. Some of these misses are hilarious 
I have to say I'm more positive towards Perisic after watching this highlight show. Seems very two footed, can beat a player easily, loads of pace, trickery, strong as feck and some old-fashioned wing-play in between. I can see why Jose would love him out there.

I don't watch other leagues like other people who seem to have a more informed opinion about him that he is an average player, who won't improve us etc, but whenever i have only watched him (mostly International tournaments) for Croatia, he has always impressed me.
Looking at the video shared above you can see why Mourinho want him. Firstly, he stays on the left and it will help us to stretch small teams and allow other flair players to make use of the space, since Mata and Miki both like getting infield and clogging up the middle area, which was a problem for us as we drew so many matches last season.
Secondly he is a brilliant crosser with both feet and he actually tries to pick somebody out (Rashford,Martial,Lingard i am looking at you), which will be helpful since we are signing Lukaku who is supposedly good in the air aswell.
Lastly his age might be a concern but i think Mourinho knows there are hardly brilliant wingers available in the market at the moment, and he might actually believe Martial and Rashford will come good. So, by bringing in the likes of Lukaku, who although being young, is a proven goal scorer and similarly Perisic who is a veteran/experienced player, it will ease off some pressure from them.
P.S He looks perfect ball carrier and alongside Lukaku with his strength and running ability (Mata and Miki feeding them). We will be great at counter attacking football next season.

Are we deliberately ignoring the rest now, in order for your statement to make sense? Robben was an upcoming world-class talent, Perisic was deemed surplus to requirements at Dortmund and finished seventh with his current club in the Serie A, also he is 29. Apples and oranges I would say.

That video seems less like a compilation of Perisic being good than it does of Inter Milan's strikers absolutely sucking arse. Some terrible misses in there. Also it seems like Serie A fullbacks are absolutely dreadful.
Perisic looks alright, not overly fussed as I think we're well stocked for wide attacking players for now, CDM is where it's at.

Forget the last 6 years, he has been steadily improving in the last four seasons. Some players are late bloomers you know. Perisic is one of such players.
He is not as good as Martial in dribbling but he is quicker, two footed unlike Martial and he contributes better to the whole team (i.e. he has a better balance of offence and defence) than Martial. He is also more versatile. He can play right wing, left wing, attacking midfield, and as a second striker. His set pieces are also far better than Martial's.
As for Rashford, there is even not much basis for comparison when it comes to classical wing play. It's a kid versus man comparison.
But even if they are both better (and they are certainly not IMO), Perisic will add very good depth to the squad as far as classic wing play is concerned. Fortunately, we now have a quicker centre forward who is as good in the air as he is with the ball at his feet. He can pick up those crosses and do something with them particularly at counter attacking pace.
I thought he was the best Croation player in the last euros. I like the idea of a direct fast winger on one side (ala Kanchelsis) and a tricky winger on the other (Mkhitaryan)
With Ander and Paul and maybe Andreas Pereira behind them we could be formidable. We have Martial and Rashford in reserve. All we need is cover for the midfield. It would be nice to think that Gribbin, Gomes and TMF could provide this but all are too young and we need an experienced midfielder.

Actually, Perisic is two footed. He can play on the right, on the left and through the middle. He was used more on the left at Inter last season though.

I think Mourinho plans to use him for width down the left, with a more defensive left-back. Then Mata or Micky will drift inside from the right, while Valencia provides the width there.

People who think his stats are unimpressive should watch this video. Some absolute sitters missed there, he'd surely have double assists every season if his team mates could finish

Who are the other options in this position? For striker we had Lukaku/Morata, DM we have Dier/Matic/Fabinho(?) and CB we had Lindeloff/Keane but for this wing position I dont see anyone else but this guy being linked. There must be an alternative. Right?
