Ivan Perisic

So in summary those who watch Italian league regularly and Inter fans rate him quite highly whilst experts on RedCafe don't. Hmm, I dunno who to believe?

Believe Jose. If he wants this dude then I trust him 100%. Looks a very good winger in those youtube videos as well.

I'm not entirely convinced we want him, we've been 'snubbed' by Morata so why would we then go for a player for the RW?

Interesting that Jose says Woodward has had his targets for 2 months and this thread was made 2 months ago, maybe there's truth to this one.

Muppets hate being blindsided. Targets must be from the list of players they bummed in dedicated threads.

Just like Bailly then.

Could be it. I would trust mourinho at this point his signings last year were a success and there is a catalogue full of players we have been excited about signing only to be very much let down when they arrived, di Maria a prime example

He's mostly a left sided player. Good spot on the 2 months thing.

This could be the end of Martial since they play in the same position along with Rashford. I think Perisic would be a good signing and would bring much needed experience.

Maybe for a swap deal with Januzaj. Or no more than 20m euros. Been linked quite a few times with him. He's probably not 1st choice on the list. But its interesting that we are being linked for someone on the left wing. Pilip de Brun also said we are interested in strengthening the left wing. Maybe an insurance policy against Martial underperforming again.

I was quite happy when we bought Bailly. I cant share the same enthusiasm with Perisic at least at that price. I don't mind getting him off Inter hands by paying the same amount of money they spend buying him in the first place

We certain there is anything to this rumour? The Italian press link us to all sorts of players every summer so I am inclined to file alongside 90% of the other transfer stories they report.

This, my opinion is to wait till we see us linked to him with a more trustful source then we can discuss about him.

Till now it's just a rumor, and a terrible one, too.

I don't care what we pay, all I care for is José getting the players he thinks he needs.

I'd take an out of form Martial over Perisic any day of the week.

He's painfully average.

Massively underrated player but it's a lot of money for a 29 year old. If true we might actually have width next season.

If Mourinho wants a specialised hard-working winger who keeps width and has a bit of physicality about him, the player is always going to be quite average; look at the options in such a position, there's not many that are particularly great. Such a signing is always going to be the whole rather the individual parts. For his age and that price though...

Feel like our negotiating in recent years amounts to adding a million to the price every time the opposition say no.

I doubt there's any thruth in those reports, but I'd actually love to have a player like him in our squad. maybe not for that price and maybe not as a first teamer, but I'm sure he would be very useful for us. I have to admit I don't really follow Inter, but whenever he plays for our NT, he looks much better than Lingard and Martial look in majority of our games. he has arguably been our best player for a while now and certainly our best performer in both 2014 WC and EURO 2016. he's far from average in any case.

I don't share your views. Mou is a winner but he tends not to care alot about the future of the club. I hope the club put a stop to that. I am not comfortable with a manager spending crazy money on a near 29 year old. Inter will be making a 100% profit out of a player whose unhappy and at the wrong end of his career

Inter fans are welcoming the prospect of letting him go because they want and deserve better players, as any club should. We better stay clear.

That's how any buying club negotiates? If they make lesser bid it would be laughable.

Glad you're not the coach, Martial has been generally worse than Perisic this season. He really offers nothing when not in form.

Perisic offers nothing when in form. At least Martial is capable of showing flashes of brilliance even when he's not playing well.

He scored 10 goals in 35 matches (+ 6 assists). I wouldnt be happy of letting a player like that go. However at age 28 we need to be realistic about the fee. Anything beyond the 25m mark would be stupid. Inter is free to refuse the deal and keep their unhappy nearly 29 year old player

If Jose thinks Perisic will improve our team then that's good enough for me. I've learnt not to take notice of the "experts" on here who throw a tantrum when we're linked with any player who isn't a superstar.

Jose will probably leave in 2 years time. We would end up with an old team who cost us a bomb to assemble. I've seen that happen with him at Inter. The aftermath wasnt pretty.

We are not spending €45m on a 29 year old ffs!
This rumour is BS

Thats correct. You talk a lot of sense lately

And only at Inter. Rest of his teams were in healthy position and won a lot.

He has produced 14 goals and 14 assists for club and country this season in worse teams than Martial and you say when he's in form he offers less than Martial out of form who's absolutely useless then. Not I say so, logic and reason say so.

and in a worse league

We all saw what happened at Inter. I don't think it will be the same here.

It's not logic and reason, it's simply your opinion. Martial's season is generally regarded as fecking shite, yet he scored 8 goals and provided 8 assists, which is basically the same as Perisic's stats for Inter.

Perisic is playing for a worse team, yeah, but don't forget the league is mostly crap apart from Juve.

I'm not renaming the fecking club or anything, I was just replying to a poster that said this would be the end of Martial. Nothing less, nothing more.

When Mou left Chelsea first time round it took them nearly 3 years to win the league. Same with Real.

Wow a whole 3 years. It's been 4 years since Ferguson left and we're still a mile away from winning the league. Is that Ferguson's fault?
