Israeli - Palestinian Conflict

On a happier note, look at this cute 3-year old Hebron boy. Ayman al-Khatib is his name. He went through a liver and kidney transplant in the Schneider medical center in Petach Tikva, across the road from my in-laws'.

It would be interesting to see what Yesh Din have to say about that. Using Palestinian kids for medical practice, or the good old organ theft?

"As was apparently the case today"... Why bother looking at the (already edited) video... A murderer's ailing heart failed him after he seeked confrontation with security forces. Little wonder you need Yesh Din to translate the images for you.

It's a basic human right that you can protest. Israel denies people under occupation that right.

Dunno. Ask the EU.

At a minimum, I'm sure it will be used as moral leverage to poke the Israelis as the saga wears on.

"A team of three fighters from the Nachshon unit and I jumped out of our car, spotted the terrorist and began chasing him.
"We fired at his feet and he collapsed. We then cuffed him and waited for the police to come."

Note to the American colleagues, this is how you apprehend a suspect. You don't actually need to kill everyone.

Ummm.....yeah people are apprehended every day in America without everyone being killed, heck it usually (not the use of the word usually, which is not the same as always) is done without even having to fire a shot. But thanks for the advice.

Don't get all touchy on me man, I was just messing with you. Obviously you're not killing everyone, I knew that.

Firing at ones feet doesn't necessarily prevent their arms and brain from firing a weapon back at you.

Hey Raoul, should I watch American Sniper to get a better understanding and a more positive picture of your government's contribution toward spreading democracy in Iraq?

Counts for nothing. You need to get circumcised.

Oh that's been done, not that I had a choice as I was quite young when it happened. Want a picture as proof?

But anyways we are spinning way off topic here, enough of this nonsense.

I see Netanyahu has been invited to address a joint session of the US Congress to discuss Iran.

I'm curious about the elections in March and how the latest events will influence the outcome. Addressing the congress could be a boost. Looking forward to Bibi's speech.

Good grief, and we are supposed to have sympathy for these people?

Yes we are. By these people I assume you mean Palestinians and not all muslims. There are moderates in these communities who want the bloodshed to end. The same with certain elements in the Israeli government.

Who are those moderates? What are their terms for ending the bloodshed?

I will concede the point that neither of the main political parties in Palestine are moderate.

In a previous post you compared the the Israeli and Palestinian political spectrum. Considering there is no representation whatsoever for moderates in Palestinian politics (peaceful co-existence of two neighbouring nation states is a fair description of a moderate resolution?) your choice of words ("the same") referring to Israel is simply wrong.

I purposely used the word communities when describing the Palestinians and government when describing the Israelis. I was challenging the stereotype of Palestinians as all bloodthirsty arabs vs the portrayal of Israel as zionist genocide causers. There are moderates to be found on both sides and naturally more of them in the larger, economically, socially, politically, intellectually advanced country.
