Maybe they're using the water supply to force Hamas to release their hostages. At least I hope so. I can't imagine them going so far as to let 2 million people die of thirst.

I think there's a reserve. Once that runs out that's it.

'Seeking out' being reading the BBC's own Twitter account, for those keeping score.

Or indeed watching their TV news coverage.

This one employee, who doesn't reflect an official BBC stance, has had a busy day manning the Twitter feeds, official website and putting together the content for their teleprompters. Poor sod needs a raise.

Nope. But one person obviously wrote some “key points” document at some point today - that did the rounds within the bbc - which has facts and figures that got quoted verbatim in a bunch of different formats.

As I’ve already shown, they use different terminology on their website so the idea that there’s a whip from on high to consistently use “killed” and “died” in very specific ways across all their coverage is, obviously, mental.

It didn't lead to resistance though, it led to barbaric slaughter of innocents.
Was speaking more macro as CP can be made malleable by whomever is funding them, often times with vexing results.

To me, terrorism by an entity which has been pushed to the end of its tether is ‘resistance,’ it just unfortunately doesn’t play well on the global stage when it goes too far.

They have the sea. It's full of water.

I agree. But I also think there's a barbarism that goes beyond terrorism. We see it around the world; its used to send a message.

What is surprising, is that many people are in this bubble where common-sense statements like this are outrageous to them

Resistance is one thing, what Hamas did is another justifying ISIS style brutality is not on.

The US government is either crazy stupid or just plain evil. I can't believe they don't know what horror they are supporting. They have had so much time to do something about this issue, but for some reason it feels like they are the lapdog of Israel and not the opposite. Europe where i live, our government leaders are just trying to say what won't get the US pissed off.

That the big powers of this world haven't solved this situation after so many years is unfathomable.

It can be solved?

US or for that matter most countries have vast experience in picking and choosing what they like to be horrified about. Turning a blind eye is not that tough. Not just the nations, the citizens do this all the time.

I avoid to speak in this thread but o çh well:

Gaza is like the jews gettos during nazi germany and the israeli goverment have the same discurss than them. Little by little, munch by munch they are taking away the country.

Israel says that the UN took the decision of the 2 states solution and palestinian didnt want it (of the UN decisions against illegal settlement better dont talk)

Imagine than a resolution of the UN would say that all siuthern states would need to be returned to mexico for historical reasons, mexican population and so and the mexicans would receive military aid from china and would corner all population of south US in a spot in nevada and they electricity, food and water would depend om mexico.

Same with other countries. A Useless international organization deciding your country ownership. The only way to decide that was for internal discussions between jews and palestinians and find and understanding via democracy. The 2 states had to be done internally negotatiated, never via war

Then you corner an entire population inside the most dense area inthe world, with misery, killing them, stealing them, etc and you expect that these attrocious events never happen.

History will remember nazi germany like one of the most darker events in history (and rightly saw). It had been movies, literature and more thanks that the victors defeated them and made sure to voice it out to the world. The facist israel state will never be remembered as such, because they have on their side the western control of the propaganda to mitigate this guy declarations (and others) and +50 years of ethnic cleasing and appartheid. Little by little palestina will disappear and dverything will be normalized

Israel has become the cause of its existance and as nazi germany, its citizens in less or more degree are as complicit as the germans back in the day. Sure in many instances they dont know better and is israels goverment fault but is the exact paralelism

Nobody anywhere on this thread has said Israel doesn't have the right to exist, I mean the ground reality isn't going to ever change now is it? The question is whether Palestine has a right to exist because the ground reality is that it is gradually being wiped off the map.
It's a gish gallop and strawman all in one.

For the record: unfortunately many Palestinians are dying too. But in terms of interpreting how this has affected Israel, it's just insane. My napkin maths may be wrong here but it'd be equivalent to about 25,000-30,000 Americans dying in 1 weekend?
Given that those level of numbers happened during COVID too.

A newbie has PM'd me:

- several posters are dishonestly stating things that we don't know as fact (I think I read one mentioned that hamas is raping children or something z where is the verified evidence?)

- bbc has history of conforming to demands of zionism. there were several articles changed over the years and im certain there was one that had tracked changes

So I thought I'd share his thoughts.

Why can't the Palestinian people have their own land to rule without being terrorized? I don't know too much about this situation, but i know that people deserves freedom and peace.
Because that's not part of their plan. You only need to see the map that Netanyahu held up just 2 weeks ago at the UN General Assembly to know that the plan is to completely remove Palestine from the Middle East.

Palestinians sit idly by and watch Israelis annex their land, they still get killed and brutally policed.

Why would they sit quietly? At some point you lose your shit. I’ve talked to a friend of mine from Palestine who was supposed to go to a friend’s birthday barbeque, only to find there had been a strike in his neighbourhood, and all that was left of his friend was assorted pieces. Some of the stories he has show you why people lose their shit and get radicalized. I understand why they get nihilistic after all these years.

Does anybody seriously think that if Hamas get overthrown and a reasonable government takes its place that Israel will suddenly treat them like neighbours rather than a prison population? I very much doubt it. Least of all with the hawks that get to run their country.

Yeah i've seen that. But that's why i called out the US, surely they could have handled this situation and made it possible (if anyone) as the biggest ally of Israel. But it does not seem like they ever wanted that.

We know they won't - you just need to take a look at the WB with the PA there to see that.

USA will get involved if there is an inkling of this happening. If Iran are pushing Hezbollah though, they are no doubt waiting for Israel to go all in on Gaza. It's why I think Israel, besides the loud boasting, will not commit everything into Gaza. Worst case, and by that I mean things are looking very very bleak both North and South, they will just carpet bomb Gaza.

Hezbollah, like Hamas, is and should be treated as longer arms of Iran. there's no "If Iran pushes Hezbollah, then the latter will consider...".
Yeah Israel can't commit everything into Gaza, and can't commit everything to Lebanon either.
there lie problems.

Israel is 10 times stronger than all of its neighbours put together…

HA knows this very well and will not engage unless really forced to by the Iranian regime. Which doesn’t seem reasonable.

This is what Israelis thought up until 3 days ago.
in reality, Israel is run by the worst and most dangerous government it ever had;

Just to use a small example-
this '10 times strong' army of ours hasn't been able to supply basic equipment for some of the soldiers that were drafted,
and so civillians have to raise donations so that soldiers will have adequate shoes, food etc.

Also,

Me and another friend, as social workers, are going to go tomorrow to one of the bases where the soldiers had to identify fallen soldiers by body parts,
and offer them emotional support because the army- which was neglected by the state- won't offer them any kind of help to deal with what they've seen.

All of the lists of people from that festival or the Kibbutzim next to Gaza whose fate is unkown (in all liklihood either killed or kidnapped),
these lists were compiled and constantly updated by citizens, by the family members themselves....

There are tons of other examples.

The citizens are the ones who make Israel not fall apart at the moment.

Israel has more firepower than its neighbors combined, but the people ruling it are putting it at an enormous risk.

The establishment has gone AWOL.

Bibi the absolute thundercnut is still good at speeches, I see. "Hamas are like ISIS...". Yeah, they're vile. as if he's any better than them.

I wish him a horrible death.

Because it's part of the US's plan also. Joe Biden said it in 1986 when he was a senator. 'Even if Israel did not exist, America would have to invent Israel to protect it's interests in the region'. Which is quite funny since they literally 'invented' Israel 39 years earlier...
