Israel - Palestine Discussion | Post Respectfully | Discuss more, tweet less

What is Likud's and Netanyahu's official policy on Palestinian statehood? What map did Netanyahu recently use when talking about the current state of the Middle East and what would the response have been if a Palestinian used a similar map? What about Smotrich's opinion?

I'm not particularly offering commentary on who's right or wrong - not at this moment. My point is that the "well they've been bad to us so we'll just go out and do such and such to them" argument makes no sense in the present context because it could easily be applied to the other side.

Is this the final breaking point from Palestinians and Gazans that were being forced into the sea by the Nazis, I mean Israelis?

Or is this yet another long game from the West for maximum sympathy toward poor old Israelis who wouldn't hurt a fly, or take their homes? Now the whole of Palestine and Gaza can be occupied with international blessing.

Or is this a huge distraction to look elsewhere? Have the Israelis finally dug through underneath Al Aqsa mosque to get what they were after? :nervous::nervous::nervous: This is the worst possible scenario for absolutely everybody. :(:(

This must be a parody, you simply can’t be this lacking in understanding.

It appears the scale of the hamas 'invasion' amounts to several hundred fighters, yet the media seems to report it as large scale invasion of Israel.
Now this is a big deal, but then you consider that what happened in Jenin just a few months ago when over 1,000 IDF soldiers (backed by their air force) raided the one refugee camp..

Of course you are. You've literally placed the entire blame for the end of the 2 state solution on Iran and the Palestinians' doors, including for using rhetoric that the Israelis are also using.

So he can call Israelis Nazis and there is no consequences? Unsurprisingly you came to his defense.
Yes he can. Just as anyone on this forum could call a fascist group Nazis. People have called Suella a Nazi. Are you going to get hysterical over that?

The two-state solution has been made impossible by Iran's official state policy of annihilating Israel and the official river-to-the-sea ideology of its proxy, Hamas, and other Palestinian groups.

These two entities collaborate to constantly constitute an existential threat to Israel. By your logic, what would Hamas expect, given its conduct in the region?
I do believe most of this is very much a justification for Israel's actions rather than material reality.

I remember the same kind of statements the west made about Iraq and Saddam Hussein, justification for why we must invade/brutalise/Guantanamo.

It's not the same. Stop being disengenuous. The context is not the same.

First of all that is inaccurate. I mentioned Iran and Hamas unless you equate Hamas to all Palestinians, which I don't. And secondly, the fact that a two-state solution has not worked due to resistance from those parties is historically accurate. It was that side of the negotiating table that officially rejected the two-state solution, was it not? And this was many years ago so again, the argument of "they did it first" would likely be available to those you accuse of having the same mindset on the Israeli side.

Not even worth replying to them. It’s clear they happy innocent civilians are being killed because they have had it coming. I mean even if in their deranged mind those that vote for Netenyahu et al deserve this (sickening), what about the significant proportion who have been protesting against the current government and vote against their actions? Seems they also deserve it according to these posters.
Nah, you're strawmanning hard to try and assign moral defects.

It's more fatigue of seeing Palestinians dying and being treated abhorrently, that people expect a response and aren't shocked that this stuff is happening.

If course it's grim and horrible but what do you expect? Cake and tea? A stern letter?

I think there’s a very important contextual difference here that needs to be taken into account, though.

This event actually reminded me of the Nablus operation back in February of this year, when 10 Palestinians were killed and >100 injured by an Israeli army day time operation (in an area that is supposed to be administered by the PA entirely). Almost nobody on here seemed to be that bothered by that Civilian loss of life.

As a side point, trying to find the original article of that showed me lots of more recent incidents in the West Bank of Palestinian civilians being killed/shot and injured by Israeli forces or settlers under IDF cover without any mention in western media at all (and I didn't know about them until just now).

Nazis are fascists and so is this current Israeli government. You’re conflating Jews with Israelis. Why do you think the poster referenced Israeli and not Jew?

See above.

I'm reality it seems the Israeli support for two state solution is the lowest it's been and the vast majority seem to prefer a Jewish state.

Damn people going full obnoxious, while making shit up like posters being happy that innocent civilians being killed left and right ( regardless of the side ), what the actual feck.

Prepping the media for the massive response from Israel as justified. The reality is, you have a few hundred militants, in old pick ups and AK47s.

It's not the penultimate scene in Avengers End Game

Yes, it's very much agree with me or be charged with being a moral and ethical dirtbag. It's grim, rhetorical games that this discussion/topic is rife with.

You can easily argue the state of Israel is closer to it than Braverman.
I'm not talking about the state of Israel. I actually have pro Palestinian views and abhor the treatment of Palestinian people by the IDF and settlers. Are those in the Israeli left who fight for peaceful Israeli/Palestinian coexistence Nazis as well? You know what that guy meant, just see his posting historial. You also know the history. For me it's unacceptable, that's why I reported.

@calodo2003 I stand corrected. Looks like it could be somewhat real; drone dropped grenade to trick trophy followed by a vampir on the engine compartment from approximately the turrets direction. There's videos of them dragging out and beating the dead crew member and partying once they get the tank to Gaza. Hopefully the others bailed safely.

This is what you said:

"The two-state solution has been made impossible by Iran's official state policy of annihilating Israel and the official river-to-the-sea ideology of its proxy, Hamas, and other Palestinian groups."

So fine, Palestinian groups and Iran. Literally no mention at all of Israel's own position and approaches to the talks.

Out of interest, if Russia offered a ceasefire today with current lines and an end to the war and Ukraine refused....would you frame it as Ukraine being the official party which refused the peace talks?

See I only reacted to his post and not other pro Palestinian posts. I know the poster history and I know what he meant. I'm not the only one who has single him out. Your explanation would be acceptable if it wasn't for that particular poster. It's the first time I've ever reported a post.

Come off it - it’s obvious he didn’t mean every single Israeli, but the government / state that keeps the Palestinians under occupation. It’s a massive stretch to make it what you think it is.

I disagree with you (see my other post above) but let’s draw a line in the sand over it and agree to disagree on what he meant.

No. I'm not sure about that.

I believe the first thing I said is that they are cnuts. We've talked about this before, and my view is they don't act much differently to any other major power. Which isn't right, and of course leads to escalations. Generally not like this though outside of Africa given that major powers usually have a handle on such rebellion.

Sorry, I'm lost. Your first response this time was to ask what choice Israel has.

Most major powers aren't occupying another people though or have already ethnically cleansed the ones they were (USA/Canada). And yes when they were (imperial times), this is indeed exactly how they acted.

How is this cnut still spewing this foul depraved shit? We're fecked as a species aren't we.

It's interesting isn't it. Very few people care if non-white civilians die but it's a whole different story if white civilians are being killed.
