Except depicting Yemenis as a bunch of tusken raiders from Star wars is...quite a bit racist?Houthis are also scum so im not exactly too arsed about this

I mean I don't expect much from a bunch of US military brutes so hardly surprised with their choice of emblems, I'm sure there are much worse ones.

It's shock factor dark/racist humour and prevalent in just about every Military organization I've seen, nothing out of the ordinary. A discussion could be had on why all militaries have this kind of edginess to them.
But like I said, Houthi's are actually scumbags so whilst it's technically wrong, I could care less.
Also, US Naval Aviators are very highly educated, very intelligent people. They're not your typical USMC brutes.
I think the IDF and US military are genocidal scumbags, but I'd still find it incredibly uneasy and in poor taste to see an adversarial military don emblems with anti-semitic imagery that Goebbels himself would be proud of.It's shock factor dark/racist humour and prevalent in just about every Military organization I've seen, nothing out of the ordinary. Oh, then go on
Poor justification, frankly. I don't know why you are exonerating them with poor excuses

I've never claimed to be a flag-bearing supporter of theirs though. I couldn't care less about the Houthis tbh, there are worse groups that exist in the region with mantras that make the Houthis seem like they're straight out of a Saturday morning cartoon. Some of which have been allied with the West. Granted I think genociding thousands of kids, and decimating middle eastern countries is a far worse crime than attacking a few ships, but I'm merely making the point that emblems like that are incredibly racist, irrespective of the group they're antagonising.Seems like you’re in the minority then because the houthis have existed for two decades plus and nobody has wiped them off the map yet.
Nay, people still cheer them and ignore that half of their existence is quite literally “kill the jews” and “kill the west”
Yeah I'm not surprised, like I said there are probably worse ones I'm not privy to. Just find it incredibly distasteful. Its not that unusual for combat zone unit patches to have slogans or imagery that some outside a warzone may deem unseemly. The general logic is that soldiers exist to kill the enemy and their social bonds are strengthened through words and imagery that mocks enemy combatants.

Also 'warzone' is an amusing description of the 'Yemeni front' considering the US' involvement in the country was previously helping the Saudis decimate the country from the air, and now firing at a bunch of small makeshift fishing vessels that buzz around trade ships. Don't think anyone has ever been killed by a Houthi attack to date, but hey whatever makes the brave boys at the USN feel a stronger bond with one another in the field of battle I suppose.
It’s not a justification for anything. I just don’t care that someone put a picture of a tusken raider to represent the houthis.
And I’m also pointing out that the requirements to be a naval aviator is extremely high, both physical and education wise, not every tom dick and harry gets to be one.
Call me naive, but I find the global economic impact (weighed more negatively towards Israel's apologists) far more palatable than the devastating human cost inflicted by the US and Israel on the people of Palestine and Lebanon.Risk free and justifiable real world experience.
I find it bizarre we’re framing this as simply as “nobody has died” whilst ignoring the impact on global economic it has had.
Being Kaos said they were the typical US Army/MC grunt brutes when they’re not?Why you keep insisting on the being extremely well qualified in this instance?

Not aiming this personally at you, but I don't care to hear about Western concerns about Houthi attacks on shipping lanes when the same virtue signalling nations are bankrolling a genocide not too far away. Yes they very well may be a 'scumbag' organisation with abhorrent beliefs, but they're not the ones culpable for 16,000 dead kids.

Nowadays you need a masters degree in aeronautical engineering
I'm not attempting to exonerate the Houthis, nor endorse their actions over the last year or so. If they had the means to unleash a catastrophic attack on their enemies would they chose to do? Possibly, but they don't so its a moot point. It's a bit like dignifying the nonsense that Hamas poses an existential threat to Israel because their leaders have sworn it, and its plastered it all over their embroidery. I'm merely pointing to the ludicrous virtue signalling from nations that do have the power to stop the very real human onslaught that Israel is currently undertaking with unreserved brutality, yet they chose to protect them all the while lecturing us on how awful and damaging the Houthis are because they've attacked Western trading vessels and have said some contentious things about Israeli jews. The Houthis have also claimed they would cease their disruptive campaign if the genocide ended, yet it feels all the more palatable to the West that we silence and antagonise them as a priority over telling the Israelis to reel in the child murdering and city destroying. It’s not a direct comparison though is it?
They’re both scum, one tries to hide and lie about it, the other doesn’t. One has the actual capability to be enact mass destruction and does so, the other wet dreams about it.
Why do we have to weigh the houthis against Israel?
It’s like trying to weigh Al-Qaeda favourably because they fought against ISIS. Yeah they did turn against isis doesn’t change the fact they’re both scum.
Austin ordered several B-52 Stratofortress bomber aircraft, tanker aircraft and Navy destroyers to deploy to the Middle East, according to four U.S. and defense officials who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss troop movements.
If by further escalation you mean not allowing Israel's enemies to retaliate. Israel on the other hand will be allowed to continue provoking everyone in the region, under the watchful blessing of the US.I presume as a deterrent to prevent further escalation. Wouldn't surprise me if some subs are within range as well.
That and and probably acting as a deterrent from it spreading into places like Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey. In other words - protecting strategic and economic interests. If by further escalation you mean not allowing Israel's enemies to retaliate. Can't wait for the new President elect to start putting an end to all that. /S
There's a small chance he might be more effective in Lebanon due to his daughter's father-in-law.Can't wait for the new President elect to start putting an end to all that. /S

The situation will continue to worsen in Gaza, likely at a more accelerated pace now. With Iran, all options will be available.
I think the Iran thing could fizzle out now. Iran doesn't have any further capacity to attack Israel and is out of options to re-arm. They've lost all their best anti aircraft kit, much of their missile building infrastructure is in ruins, and whilst Israel didn't hit any nuclear facilities directly they did strike key suppliers to that effort. It's going to be very difficult for Israel to justify another attack on Iran without labelling it as retaliation.
Bibi can’t wait for Trump either so he can finally take pop Khamenai
No new wars.
Trump steaks
Cross posted from the Trump thread. Trump will almost certainly be out for revenge, probably by way of allowing Netanyahu to do whatever he wants against Tehran.....
