ISIS in Iraq and Syria

Great piece of investigative journalism investigating Erdogan's link to ISIS and extremist elements, particularly his relationship with a notorious Saudi businessman known for funding Al Qaeda and extremists in the Syrian rebellion, despite the fact he's banned in Turkey (which hasn't stopped Erodgan from personally inviting him over).

Undoubtedly so in the alternate Universe.
 You just got to laugh at all these conspiracy theorists. Some people will go to some lengths to discredit the USA.

You aren't faultless by all means, but it seems like nowadays you can't be the victim of anything. It's really tiresome.

Turkish propaganda stating that Turkish soldiers are aiming at ISIS.

Just shows how far some are willing to bend reality to make it fit their world view.

Kobane is falling. Turkey won't mind it seems despite earlier claims. Whole world watching as the brave Peshmerga take on tanks with Ak-47's !!

Shitty coalition, there's one hill with at least ten ISIS vehicles/tanks on it, no civilians around. Hit it.

Then there's Turkey which has lined up tens of tanks but instead spends time attacking journalists.

Shame on this coalition, it's nothing but an embarrassment.

Street fights have begun in the Eastern parts of Kobane. YPG are outnumbered at 2:1 and heavily outgunned. Still they fight on, resisting this most recent attack for 3 weeks. Kobane won't fall until every Kurd in the town has been martyred.

FSA commander says Turkey halted their troops from moving into Kobane. Says it all, eh?

Its taken you until now to realise that the hilariously named 'Anti-IS coalition' which is made up of pro-terrorist Saudi, Qatar and Turkey are ineffective? This whole thing is an obvious mission creep. If they wanted ISIS destroyed they could do it overnight.

Plane flying over Kobane now, let's see what happens...

Ministry of Peshmerga confirm that Turkey refused to allow their border with Kobane to be used for Peshmergas to be moved into the town.

Follow https://twitter.com/cahitstorm for up to date and daily reports from the border with Kobane. He reports what he sees and takes photos until his mobile battery runs out for the day.

Not sure about the army, but the Turkish prime minister is a notorious Islamists with links to Al Qaeda affiliated businessmen. Him being in bed with ISIS would hardly be a surprise a this stage.

Because it weakens Kurdish power.

I doubt that erdogan has much sympathy for ISIS. He sees them as tool as many other nations as well. The enemy of my enemy....At this point ISIS is the only group that is able to challenge Assad and eventually also the only group that can prevent kurdish autonomy/independence in syria.
The USA is more or less in the same boat: Bombing ISIS = Assad stays in power.

I thought that the "anti-isis-coalition" would stop ISIS from invading Kobane at the very last minute. Everybody should realize that allowing ISIS to take over the whole boarder is a terrible idea, that will backfire. That said, the USA made so many mistakes, that another one would be a big surprise. The Europeans are just useless when it comes down to military and they also have problems with he YPG-PKK connection.

@Suli thanks for the updates mate. Been following your insight more than the local papers.

Kobane won't fall until every Kurd in the town has been martyred.
That is mind boggling, those people need support. Hope someone does something before this happens, but can't hold out much hope.

As I said before, expect 100+ killed in clashes tonight, from both sides. ISIS won't be able to use their fancy heavy weaponry in the street rights, it's going to be man to man. Here's hoping they push the thugs off the streets and back into their hiding holes, 22 days of resistance.

Shameful behaviour by the coalition and Turkey. You have my simpathy @Suli How can they let this happen :(
