ISIS in Iraq and Syria

Kobane has been evacuated of civilians who want to leave. Those who want to stay have been given an AK and very very limited ammo (because we are running out badly). The combat will be street by street where heavy weapons don't matter and tanks are easily attacked. When the YPG run out of ammo they will fight with their hands or any weapons they can find, until death.

And as for the airstrikes, any excuse about hitting civilians is absolutely stupid.

I see no civilians here, it's open ground with heavy weaponry, easy pickings for the coalition. Why didn't they blow that up?

I'll repeat it again, these points were evacuated of civilians days ago. They're in open land and the YPG are heavily outgunned and outnumbered. Don't give me excuses about civilians.

Like they really give that much of a shit about civilians, they'd have bombed it by now if they wanted to anyway.

Expect heavy, and I mean in the hundreds, of deaths from both sides in the coming days. Every single building will be fought for, ISIS won't be able to use their American vehicles in those streets.

YPG destroyed a tank on the southern front in the last hour.

So its 1 on 1 combat suli? This shit is crazy
Not yet lol.

Every attack on the actual town of Kobane has so far been resisted. If they enter, it's building to building fights. The issue is that YPG are running out of ammo, and fast. The YPG commanders said that they are ready for this and their soldiers will fight hand to hand to the death if need be.

Think running into the building and beating them to the death before they have a chance to shoot. Think running at a tank and chucking an explosive down the hatch before they kill you (something that a YPG man did a few days ago, and died when he took out the tank due to gunfire from around him).

The guys who do this kinda shit have some real guts. The most I've ever done is shoot at a cat lol

Video from today, including an ISIS tank at 3:25 and throughout, surprise surprise it's in open space with no civilians nearby. Easy target.

Also check out the RPG dude, balls of steel.

On the Rabia front (Iraqi-Syria border), a Peshmerga-YPG cooperation cleared the area from rats. Here are the heavy weapons captured, which the rats captured from the Iraqi army.

What's the reason for not giving the YPG ammo? They seem like the most moderate of the militias at the moment.

That would make too much sense.

@Raoul Any chance your boys could shower these positions with white phosphorous? You can pretend there are civilians there too if you need an incentive.

Unlikely my friend, there's only a limited supply of white phosphorus, which I'm told is being reserved for the Assad regime. :)

This footage coming from the region of fighting between ISIS and other ground forces looks so amateurish.

I have seen better organised teams playing paintball!

Ongoing clashes on all fronts in Kobane. They haven't reached the city yet as all attacks have been repelled. Kobane still stands.

Turkey proposed the dissolution of the PYD and all the canton administrations as a condition for supporting Kobane. Essentially they wanted Rojava to accept Turkish occupation, not going to happen.

At least 4 air strikes hit ISIS around Kobane in the past two hours.

Reports say it's Australian but that's unknown yet.

Edit: They were American.

Video released of Alan Henning, British hostage, being killed.

Last night was a terrible night for ISIS. They wanted to celebrate Eid and pray in Kobane, but instead they are holding funeral prayers for the 156 fighters killed. :)

Biden blames US allies in Middle East for rise of ISIS

“What happened was, and the history will record this, what my constant cry was that our biggest
problem is our allies, our allies in the region were our largest problem in Syria.
The Turks were great friends and I have a great relationship with Erdoğan, which I spent a lot of time with, the Saudis, the Emiratis, etc. What were they doing?
They were so determined to take down Assad … what did they do?
They poured hundreds of millions of dollars and tens of thousands of tons of weapons
into anyone who would fight against Assad.
Except that the people who were being supplied were al-Nusra, and al-Qaeda and the extremist
elements of jihadis coming from other parts of the world,” Biden said in his speech.

Blame deflection.
What were US doing Mr Biden all these years? US politicians looking for others to blame for the disaster the US created says it all really.

He's got a point regarding those countries though. A very good point.

Biden is full of shit, he was content to arm the same extremists in Syria, but now they're executing US hostages he suddenly feels that his Turkish and Gulf Arab mates aren't doing enough to quell the threat.

You can't have it both ways - you've been critical of the US for being friendly with Gulf Arab states and now you have the Vice President criticizing them for the same reasons you have in the past criticized them. Mildly hypocritical to say the least.

Its just funny how the world gets so outraged when one innocent western person gets killed

While the US has killed more civilians from self made "conflicts" than any nation in the last 50 years

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...on-fallujah-worse-than-hiroshima-2034065.html

Why is the new justification that because ISIS killed 2-3 US citizens, who were not killed wantonly, they were actually killed due to US airstrikes, Im not talking about Alan Henning, but the ones who were killed in the start, where killed in retaliation(http://online.wsj.com/articles/isla...of-american-journalist-james-foley-1408489010).

So if the US can invade whoever it likes because 2-3 of its people were killed then Im sure most people in the ME who have family members killed from either bombs, soldiers or weapons supplied by the US to rebel groups, those people then hypothetically speaking they have even more right to attack the US than the other way around

The US and its Allies have destroyed the ME, its people, infrastructure and people act like its no big deal, especially the massive number of civilian deaths which have happened since the US started its invasion of the ME

And that article about Fallujah really is eye opening, the amount of cancers in children, deformities, deaths in newborns especially are 80 per 1000 infants

Its probably down to how deaths are publicized. If you make a video in which you decapitate another person, then publicize it all over the web for political effect, you're likely going to draw more attention to yourself than "routine" deaths that take place during wars.

Yeah true, I dont understand the idea of beheading people as the media use it to cover up killings of civilians

But in the ME it is not war, so the deaths are not "routine", its a war if Iraq was bombing and invading the US, and if the US was reciprocating that back

But right now you have a foreign army in the ME, terrorizing and killing the local population, and if you read that article you would have seen whatever chemicla and biological weapons they threw in fallujah they have decreased the ratio of boys to girls , along with all the cancers theyve caused in innocent children are all done on purpose

Which foreign army is currently in the middle east ? The only groups doing the damage are the likes of ISIS and their compatriots - with the Syrian and Iraqi Armies not being able to stop them.

Are the US and its allies the National Army of the ME?

And as I have brang up in this thread alot of those images of ISIS brutal killing of civilians where not in fact committed by ISIS but by the Syrian government

Before ISIS, Assad was killing his own people in the thousands as all dictators do when they feel under threat after years of commiting injustices on the people
