How exactly? I can’t figure out how this would help the likes of St Etienne, Hamburg etc. This is a lot more palatable and intriguing than the first version. Potentially raising up historically great teams from the past and enabling them to invest and compete sounds exciting.
I was totally against it the first time it rolled round, but honestly, UEFA and the PL have had their chance to deal with the plagues on the game and they haven’t done enough.
Time is running out by the looks of things.
1. I assume it's not possible to both play CL football and this? There's not enough time.
2. What, in essence, is the actual difference between this and the CL? Surely it can't be an actual league right? There's not enough time for that either. It has to be a knockout tournament.
A draft would actually be brilliant for the game in fairness. Finally @adexkola might get what he wants. A closed franchise model - maybe we'll even have a draft
One good thing is the matches wiil air live for free so no need to pay £33 per month for TNT Sports.
They have also said their will be a women's competition which would include 32 clubs across two leagues.
Oh yeah, of course we're talking in hypotheticals here. There is no superleague right now, nor anytime soon I'd imaginePSG and Bayern refused to join the SL from the off so that’s a bad start for these grand plans
That’s why you said etc after those teams, there’s nobody else and that’s how it’s hidden

Those clubs are completely delusional. On the massive off chance this takes off, all that’ll happen is the ESL will soon start accepting entries from the highest bidder. Aka Saudi Arabia.
Anyone pining for this would do well to remember this idea wouldn’t be regulated and it would be a free for all. Wonder how Italian and Spanish clubs fans will feel when they start having to have away days to Al Nassr and the like.
What’s also mad in all of this. You’ve got managers and players on a constant whinge about the amount of games being played and then you have uefa, fifa and the super league basically in a world of their own fighting tooth and nail to get more and more and more and more games .
I am 99% sure that within five years football will be all year round at the highest level. With pre season scrapped.
For one season yes. Then they'll introduce the subscription model
I like the idea and it's better than current UEFA competitions.
English clubs won't be allowed to join obviously, however, would we really want to play in a CL without spanish and italian clubs? Because I'm pretty sure that they won't rest until it happens. This will make the CL useless. And what stops other clubs in Germany and France from joining? The premier league and the FA should be open to the idea.
I don't see how HMG can stop it. They'll just register Man City offshore in Cayman Islands and say they "rent" the stadium. Therefore not a British club anymore (true anyway as they are effectively the UAE National Team).Man City watching on knowing if anything happens to them. They can try to persuade (bribe) the government to allow them into this

This is all I heard aswell "free to get everyone on board then once we have them, boom, billions in streaming revenue".
The premier league and FA currently are blocking English clubs from joining. But European clubs after the current ruling can do what they want, which means if I understood correctly that even within the same league each club will be able to choose where to play. If PSG says they want to stay in the current competition, nothing will stop Lyon from saying that doesn't work for me, I'm joining the other one.If the English clubs want to join they'll join
That's how I see it, eliminate the competition (UEFA) and once it's all settled, it'll soon become a paid subscription. Apart from Red Star Belgrade vs Dinamo Zagreb at 4am on a Sunday in Dubai. This is all I heard aswell "free to get everyone on board then once we have them, boom, billions in streaming revenue".

It'll go the way of Netflix and DAZN, as soon as they have the subscriber base in place, they'll creep up the prices, which will inflate each season. There's billions being pumped into this, they'll want a return eventually.I'm guessing they will go for a hybrid model like other stream providers have.
Free tier = Ads
Paid tier = Ad-free
And prolly some Paid+ tier with like 4k and 5 streams etc.

Yep.No surprise really. You don’t go through with an idea like that unless you’re 100 % sure the law is in your favor. It was the fan backlash that throw the project down the toilet, not any of the empty threats from UEFA/FIFA.
