Brazil authorities wanted a stage to show how clever and important they are. Not realising they fecked this up by even letting them through the border, not bothering for 2-3 days with it, and waiting till the match was about to start to do anything about it 
Doesnt the airport/visa authorities check these type of things on entry or do people just walk off the plane and through the airport?
They'd try to restart the match in three hours to check if the players are still not eligible before, though.

It was all over the media for like 3 days. Impossible to miss. Both teams should get 0 points for this game, it should be just cancelled.

the health authorities said the players had to leave the country several hours before the game started.. there is no way Argentina should have fielded those players.
Unless CONMEBOL assured Argentina they could field those players, Brazil should get 3 points.. If they did tell Argentina they could field them.. reschedule and sack the idiot who told Argentina they didnt have to respect the laws of Brazil.

That's what I thought. But apparently it was checked later to ease the arrival, but I'm not sure about that.
They're not ineligible though. The federations decide who's eligible or not. The country decides who they let in.

Can't see how Spurs and Villa avoid getting docked points. They are responsible for this situation. 
No. They tried to reach to argentinians earlier in the hotel, they refused to play if any player was taken out, and before the match Anvisa tried again, but they locked doors and said they wouldn't talk to anyone.
And it all ended in this mess.

The brazilian health authority made it clear the players had to leave the country well before Kick off.. I'm pretty sure players who arent allowed to be in the country would be ineligible to play the match... I dont think Argentina have a case here...
