Be thankful the FIA aren't in charge. They'd call 5 minutes enough to be an official match and give them half a point each for the 0-0.
Doesnt the airport/visa authorities check these type of things on entry or do people just walk off the plane and through the airport?Yes. And the 4 players lied when arrived in Brazil, didn't tell they came from the UK. Anvisa discovered and tried to get the players, Argentina refused at all times to cooperate.
Anvisa was not wrong, but the way it was done was the worst possible. But mostly because of Argentina.
They'd try to restart the match in three hours to check if the players are still not eligible before, though.Be thankful the FIA aren't in charge. They'd call 5 minutes enough to be an official match and give them half a point each for the 0-0.
Doubt it. One day isn’t going to make difference if they are following Covid protocols. Argentina will fly back home.wait theyre going to try and play tomorrow?
did anyone else hear that

It was all over the media for like 3 days. Impossible to miss. Both teams should get 0 points for this game, it should be just cancelled.Argentina coach saying they werent notified the players werent allowed in Brazil.. its his camps job to know. fecking hell.. take some responsibility.. they have noone but themselves to blame.

Germany's second match under Flick is a lot more inspiring than the first (2-0 against Liechtenstein), currently 5-0 vs Armenia (captained by no other than Henrik Mkhitaryan). Even Werner with an assist and a goal.
How can this be possible? Makes no sense, the fault is all on the players that lied. How can Brasil lose points?I think CONMEBOL might have given Argentina assurances beyond their means too...
I heard they told Brasil that if the players couln't play, the points will be given to Argentina
Took me this long to realize you and @Daonico are not the same personHow can this be possible? Makes no sense, the fault is all on the players that lied. How can Brasil lose points?
Why? Argentina should get 0 for fielding ineligible players. It was all over the media for like 3 days. Impossible to miss. Both teams should get 0 points for this game, it should be just cancelled.
That's what I thought. But apparently it was checked later to ease the arrival, but I'm not sure about that.Doesnt the airport/visa authorities check these type of things on entry or do people just walk off the plane and through the airport?
Any chance Brazil authorities intentionally let the match kicked off and then stepped in so that Brazil get a walkover?
Makes sense to moi anyway

the health authorities said the players had to leave several hours before the game started.. there is no way Argentina should have fielded those players.
No. They tried to reach to argentinians earlier in the hotel, they refused to play if any player was taken out, and before the match Anvisa tried again, but they locked doors and said they wouldn't talk to anyone.Any chance Brazil authorities intentionally let the match kicked off and then stepped in so that Brazil get a walkover?

We were talking about this in the fantasy football thread on here yesterday.Argentina coach saying they werent notified the players werent allowed in Brazil.. its his camps job to know. fecking hell.. take some responsibility.. they have noone but themselves to blame.
The brazilian health authority made it clear the players had to leave the country well before Kick off.. I'm pretty sure players who arent allowed to be in the country would be ineligible to play the match... I dont think Argentina have a case here...They're not ineligible though. The federations decide who's eligible or not. The country decides who they let in.
If these players have travelled to a game they can’t play in and now have to return and quarantine for ten days, those two clubs are going to be pissed? Can't see how Spurs and Villa avoid getting docked points. They are responsible for this situation.
Especially since the rules should be well known. If these players have travelled to a game they can’t play in and now have to return and quarantine for ten days, those two clubs are going to be pissed?

Well yeah but insisting on playing a game they're not eligible to play seems a bit... dumb? They refused to stay and wanted to play for Argentina. Guess it's the same for the Spurs lads.
Exactly why I can fully believe CONMEBOL might have done itHow can this be possible? Makes no sense, the fault is all on the players that lied. How can Brasil lose points?
