Internationals September (World Cup Qualifiers)

Southgate will forever be the main annoyance with this England team. Why did he pick Bamford if he wasn't going to play anyone in attack or midfield capable of giving him any service, and then hook him off the second he did bring anyone on?

Why do we keep playing a right footed player at left back and why were there fullbacks in midfield? I know it's Andorra but what was achieved by any of this? Is playing Trent in midfield going to be any help when we draw Belgium or France in the world cup?

I'm also happy for Lingard but a bit perplexed how he earned his way back into the England squad by literally not playing in any games since the last England squad.

Currently we have a top level crop of players managed by someone who is a relegation level manager...and not even someone who manages relegation standard teams. Someone who manages teams that would turn into relegation standard teams because he is managing them...but unfortunately due to England being shite for so long he's untouchable and will probably feck this generation's chance of being successful.
Not sure what the issue is with Bamford, he wasn't very good.

Trippier has played at LB a couple of times for England and given Shaw is first choice, there's no need for him to have started today. Chilwell is injured, so not in the squad.

Playing Trent in midfield was an experiment to firstly try something new and secondly to get all the guys that didn't play in the first game a start. It's against Andorra, a pretty risk free move.

Aside from Greenwood which has been discussed to death in this thread, who would you have picked for England ahead of him?

I'm not sure why you're being so negative considering it's a game against fecking Andorra.

Who is winning in any of this ? Are they going to give Brazil a 3-0 win ?

That would be perhaps the funniest example of shithousery ever seen in international football. I can't think of anything more outlandish off the top of my head.

Argentina should be punished for fielding illegal players. Must be why the brazilians are laughing right now

Revenge for Argentina winning the Copa, that is why they did it with the drama on the pitch.

That mentality is just different to Europe.

Yep.. This has 3:0 for Brazil all over written now...Its Argentina's fault the whole situation and they even had the nerve to field 3 of the 4 players hahaha

As far as I understand it:
* Brazil has a rule, that a person who has been in certain countries (including UK) in the last 14 days, can't enter the country (or have to quarintine). Not that different to the Cavani issue when going back to England
*Argentina has 4 players that play in the premier, and failed to said so when they entered Brazil
*when this was noted, the goverment tell them they had to leave, Argentina NT said "if they can't play, we won't play", CONMEBOL said "If they can't play, Brazil NT will lose the points"
*CONMEBOL supposedly had agreed with the authorities of every country so this things wouldn't happen

The big thing here is why wait for the match to start to act... clearly attention seeking for me, I guess they want some political advertisment in Brazil or something, getting some camera and showing how they don't even make exception for high profile people, or something like that

Which is completely bullshit. They went to the hotel and the locker room, Argentina refused to play and said of they went for the players they wouldn't play at all.

Before the game, they locked the doors. Can you imagine a feckery like that?

I mean, both are at fault it seems. Argentina should have known the rules themselves or got approval first. Brazil should have said it straightaway as a reminder but they waited to make it a big deal

Oh so Argentina just tried to brazen it out and refused to cooperate?

Think Villa and Spurs came to some sort of arrangement away from the PL advice, god knows what arrangement it was.
the agreement was suppose to be they would be released early(according to villa and spurs), so they would only miss one match, but the Argentinian manager said he didn't know of any arragement and he counted on the players for the three matches

The match should be allowed to resume with those four players encased in some of those big inflatable balls. Zorbs?

That's naughty. Now what happens when they come back? Into quarantine? Think it was Lo Celso the Spurs players, so they will cope without him. Dean Smith won't be happy.

More Covid-stupidity, I forgot Brazil was so Covid free and a beacon of how to handle a pandemic. feck me, the over the top bollocks never stops. No logic in any of it.
each country has the right to enforce the health meassure he wants and that should be above football... I think it's stupid that UK made trouble for Cavani being in Uruguay when we have covid under control and he is vaccinated (as most of the population here), but that's how it is

Each country has the right to make utterly illogical moronic decisions, yes. I agree on the UK being morons also.

So in summary Argentina lied to the clubs to get the players, lied to Brazilian authorities about any being in the U.K. the last 14 days and then when found out tried to hide the players in the locker rooms so they couldn’t stop them playing…top quality shithousery

Well that's UK rules so you probably know better than me, but I guess they have to quarantine.
the players are Emiliano Martínez, Emiliano Buendía (Aston Villa), Cristian Romero y Giovani Lo Celso (Tottenham)

WTH some people are talking. They were in Argentina before going to play against Venezuela. Then they traveled to Brazil where they have been for 3 days.

This is plain stupid from Brasil authorities.

i meant in terms of watching. Cant bear watching it unless its the tournaments themselves. Friendlies and qualifiers zero interest

I would add that the group stage of tournaments hold zero interest for me now as they've expanded them so much you get joke teams in the finals as well/groups where it is still mismatches. Only group that I tuned into at the Euros was France's as there was some actual jeopardy there.

Tbh, with 24 teams at the Euros and 48 at the World Cup, they may as well forget about qualifiers and have everyone qualify for the tournament. At that point have a few rounds of one leg KO games, then do the groups when it gets down to 16 or 8 at the Euros and 32/16 at the WC.

Not because Brazil were without a lot of players of course
