India's thunder down under - Tour 2014/15

Our tail consisted off Shami, Aaron and Ishant. Not sure they would've the new ball with Johnson for fifteen overs.

We really missed Bhuvi and Ashwin in that regard.

Those 3 are 100x more likely to play out 90 balls than get 60 runs on day 5 in the same number of deliveries.

Rohit Sharma is a knob for playing that shot.

He never learns. Should just be dropped.

I think it was Archie who mentioned funny point which was going through my mind as well all throughout India's chase, particularly when India were well set. Imagine Australia losing the match after scoring 800+ runs in the match, in just 189 overs, for loss of 12 wickets only and declaring both times!

Back to the series, Clarke will be big miss for Australia but I look at India's bowling and find it difficult to imagine where the 20 wickets will come from. Brisbane and Melbourne will be tougher conditions for Indian batsmen as well than this game. It will need some special performances to keep series alive by the time of Sydney test. That said, Australian batting is not at its strongest at the moment so Indian bowlers should apply themselves better in next 2 games at least and see what happens.

On that pitch, it was impossible for those tailenders to play Lyon for 10 overs. I'd rather they lose trying to win than draw. There are some situations where you logically can go for a draw but this wasnt one

So Kohli scores hundreds in both innings but loses the test due to shite bowling and the rest of the batting collapsing..

He finally knows what Sachin felt like for the 90s!

Great interview though. That's how a captain should think.

Shaun Marsh added to the Australian squad to replace Clarke. Have no idea what he is doing there really. I don't rate him. It will be interesting to see if Harris can get up for the match with such a short turnaround.

I think we won't get a better chance to win a test match in Australia.

Their batting is wank and their bowling is untested. Starc's crap.

They might still make runs/take wickets, but this is the worst Aussie line-up I have seen.

I think it'll go the same way as India's recent away series. Started well in South Africa and England, then gave up. They can't win anyway, no way their bowling attack can take 20 wickets.

Good start so far. I think they made the right changes to the line up. I might've looked at Rohit Sharma but guess he will be given one more chance.

India's DRS opposition makes them pay again with Pujara. Funny.

Vijay's improvement as a test batsmen has been staggering.

Please not another collapse tomorrow. We need to take this to 450 minimum, preferably to 500

No Mitchell Marsh for the rest of the test. Hazelwood doesn't look too healthy whether. We've to drive it home tomorrow by batting well for two sessions

Another very good catch!

India will be disappointed not to get 450+. Assuming these 2 won't do much.

I don't think it touched the bat. Another poor decision.

How can you be the worse umpire in a test match consisting of Murray erasmus?

Steve Smith is an absolute diamond isn't he? Was always a fan but I never thought he'd be this good in tests.

Mitchell with a wonderful shot to get to 50!

India's bowling has turned to shit the last 30 mins.

And another lovely hit

Lovely century from Smith.

Never thought he would become such a good Test batsman when I first saw him play, credit to him on really improving his game.

India's game plan was totally awful to Johnson. There is help in pitch for good length bowling, there are cracks in that area and they were trying to get Johnson bounced out. Not only he got valuable runs, he will come out in 2nd innings looking to reciprocate the short stuff. Think he has been little restraint on that front after hitting Kohli on helmet last test.

One can only laugh at the number of times India give away games by letting no. 8-11 score plenty in tests.
