India's thunder down under - Tour 2014/15

So is Rahul going to keep wickets besides also coming in at number 3 or opening? This is deja vu

I found Kohli's press conference really childish.

"I know they hate me".. the Aussies don't give a shit, they wind people up to get some wickets and forget about it, which is what Harris said in his press conf.
They forget about it only when they are the ones that are saying it. When stuff is said to them, they don't easily forget.

I think Kohli was rather stupid to bring it up at the press conference. It is necessary to give it to the aussies but do it on the field, preferably when they are batting.

Dhawan, Pujara dropped for Raina, Rohit.

Bring back Dhoni!

Sharma is going to bat at 3?!

TBF, I think it's not a bad idea to try out different combinations as it is a dead rubber.

A last chance for Rohit, I think.

Am interested in seeing how he goes at #3 as well -- my guess is that there's only one way this is going to go but let's see.

Averaged 24.15 in 10 test matches in 2014 with 2 fifties. Needed a kick up the backside IMO.

Been a mixed 12-16 months.

Played well in SA, got really good deliveries in NZ and any batsman could've gotten out to those and been dog shite in England and Australia.

I know Dropping Pujara isn't a bad thing but dropping him for Rohit fecking Sharma is ridiculous.

Congratulations David Warner. Haven't had an opener like him since Hayden in his pomp... Such a destructive player.

This Indian bowling takes 'inept' meaning to a whole new level.

Wasn't watching it, but was listening whilst at work and it didn't sound too crash hot. India had a real chance to get back into the game after Warner and Rogers were dismissed in quick succession... Nek minnit Smith is nearing another century and Watson has worked into an innings.

The problem is, India's bowling never looks threatening outside subcontinent and even imagining 20 wickets in a match winning way is almost impossible for fans. The frustrating part is the lack of proper coaching and application than talent. The talent is there but if at test match level bowlers spread deliveries all over the place and can't bowl 5 of the 6 deliveries at least in same zone, then it is bound to be difficult against good batsmen.

Weather its Australia/South Africa or England, our bowling never ever looked sharp. We always struggled to bowl in those bounce/pacy wickets.
Either its getting carried away by looking at the wicket or as you called 'inept'. They fail to apply them self. Apart from the physical aspect bowling is also more about thinking you need to think a lot between each deliveries.

Too many mediocre deliveries which are easily cashed in. In Australia and even when India came here the same happened. When you had a good spell you didn't take advantage. Momentum gets quickly shifted and Indian heads drop. Whereas the Aussies aren't bowling too many spectacular, fiery balls, but are building pressure with consistent lengths and lines. Making the batsmen think of trying to work there way round the bowling.

You feel the impatience in the Indians and yesterday with the amount of changes from Kohli it summed up. Rogers and Warner weren't exactly belting it all parts. They weren't hitting normal deliveries for fun. There was always a boundary ball they could hit and that eased them through.

Where's Pragyan Ojha?
He has been sent to rectify his action.. Didn't even play a Ranji match recently, got the notice to attend the Bangalore center immediately..

Someone said that he's a perfect mixture of Sehwag/Hayden. Can't argue with that.

I think India should just give up away tours for 3-4 years. This current crop is completely useless at bowling.

The Aussie commentators can talk a lot of nonsense sometimes.

Rahul is the successor to Dravid it seems, at least in terms of being a dud.

This is boring viewing currently. But i am revising, so i guess it's a good thing

 this has suddenly got eventful!

Dravid a dud? I don't get it? (batting so slowly?)

It's funny considering his crazy/rash/ridiculous shot selections during his first test.

He's approaching his maiden test century (I hope he gets it and then gets out promptly after).

Congratulations Rahul on his maiden test century - very well batted.

He will remember this day for the rest of his life.

So pleased for Rahul, he's a good talent and comes from my city :)

I'm hoping Kohli finally gets his double ton here

Kholi is quality. He, Smith and Warner have been brilliant all series. Shame the pitches have been so flat though. Makes for boring viewing.
