India's thunder down under - Tour 2014/15

I found Kohli's press conference really childish.

"I know they hate me".. the Aussies don't give a shit, they wind people up to get some wickets and forget about it, which is what Harris said in his press conf.
Yea that's my point too. They just showed that after every confrontation, he ended up giving a chance to the Aussies, which they didn't or couldn't take. They also showed the discussion between Rahul and Kohli after the ball Rahul got dropped. Instead of trying to calm him down he said something about the Aussies unable to catch.

Very next ball, he slogs and gets out.

Manjrekar's commentary

Nearly in tears. Like a guy who can't handle away test losses anymore and desperately wants India to succeed.

"Please bowl there. Good delivery. Please don't bowl short balls."

Last week I was forced to hear Hindi commentary due to unavailability of star sports 1 and the bias of Kapil Dev, Arun Lal etc was beyond ridiculous.

With harbhajan there was the whole racism issue so there's a big reason for the hate.

Every time I hear Hindi commentary, it seems like a desperate attempt to sound coherent and articulate and failing miserably. Not sure if it's my perception but it does seem like it. And manjrekar is the most partisan commentator ever.

Not sure what the hate for Manjrekar on here is -- he's one of the better Indian commentators. Does not stick to BCCI gagging orders and was in fact removed once for speaking his mind.

Bhogle is a good anchor, Ganguly the best commentator and Dravid's alright.

Rest are rubbish. Gavaskar's just a fan boy who got into the commentator box and Shastri is BCCI's mouth piece.

The hilarity occurs when they search for hindi words for regular cricket terms. 'choti gend' for short ball is one such funny example.

They've got Shoaib Akthar as a Hindi commentator too. He's by far the worst commentator present right now. Absolutely ridiculous.

Harbhajan's tweet after the first match said(paraphrasing) that what a pitch. I'd have taken loads of wickets there.

Sums him up. Incredibly self obsessed.

You and me both, mullet. Harbhajan is a cnut of the highest order.

How about you change your name to alexis's_shorts btw?

You know what, I think it is time.... Mods, if you're out there could you please do me a favour and change my username to: alexis's_shorts?

Help a brother out.

Should be a good day.

I also hate Bhaji, but like Manjrekar. Good honest guy Manjrekar is.

Ffs! A little bit of drizzle and the umpire runs off.

Aussie commentators don't sound so happy with what's going on. Clarke's defending Smith though. Assuming the lead doesn't become absolutely unassailable, pretty sure India will prefer the current happenings.

I don't think its the worse tactic in the world.

Smith basically wants to set India a chaseable total, which this is, but not enough time to chase it, which there currently is, whilst presumably letting Marsh get a century if he can. Runs aren't important, he just wants to take time out of the game.

Basically the longer Australia bat now the more the possibility of India chasing this total diminishes meaning that if they do go for it they have to take excessive risks to stay with the run rate, whilst knowing that if India don't try then Australia take an unassailable series lead.

I like Dhoni but he should be removed as Test captain. He seems happy enough with how things are going, despite needing the win. At least take the new ball!!

Kohli would make a good captain.

I agree tbh. Commentators are saying that isn't the 'Australian Way'; that they should be forcing the situation more to leave enough overs to bowl out India. But I have nothing against Australia's current tactics, the primary target should be to win the series.

Well that was really unfortunate and stupid. Moral victory for India.

This surely will end in a draw now, unless India collapse or do something spectacular. Both sides could've been far more aggressive to force a result (assuming this does end in a draw) but I can understand the Aussies wanting to bat India out of it.

Edit: still no declaration?! :wenger:

feck, partnership building. Reckon they should get some part timers to toss a few up now for Kohli.

Could? It would be mad to bet against it.

I would've. 35 overs.. no way Australia would win with Pujara and Rahane.

I actually checked hte odds and it was 1.4 for a draw at that time.

This is an easy draw. Pitch is still like a day 1 wicket. Pujara bats around 80 balls on average even now when he is out of form. That'll just take around 15 overs out of the game. 20 overs not enough to displace Rahane, Dhoni and the rest when they are looking to draw the match.

Odds for a draw now 1.08.
