India's thunder down under - Tour 2014/15

Rahul is the successor to Dravid it seems, at least in terms of being a dud.

This is boring viewing currently. But i am revising, so i guess it's a good thing

dud
dʌd/
informal
noun
  1. 1.
a thing that fails to work properly or is otherwise unsatisfactory or worthless.
    "all three bombs were duds"
  2. 2.
    clothes.
    "buy yourself some new duds"

If Rahul Dravid is a dud then there have been about dozen decent batsmen in history, and only one good one.

Ffs guys his name is Kohli and not Kholi. Don't give him the Ghandi treatment.

Can't be a Indian tour of Australia without an absolutely ridiculous decision going in favor of Australians.

That'll keep India away from the DRS for another few years. Forgot it was day 4, thought it was only the 3rd day, will probably be a draw.

Steve Smith is seriously phenomenal.

And I'm really happy that Rogers is keeping his great run of form going - six test 50's in a row from an opener is brilliant.

Ashwin finally coming to the party. Shame Smith has taken the game away from us (again). What a massive series he's had

There are not enough words to describe how pathetic India's bowling is.

Doesn't matter which spinner performs in the domestic matches, Ashwin and/or Jadeja will never be dropped for the home test matches. It's the only time they perform.

Ashwin and Jadeja have done very well in home test matches, so can't drop them unless they perform bad or below expectations in home tests.

This is set up to be a terrific final day of cricket. Kohli seems the type of captain who isn't afraid of losing when going for the win, so anything up to 375 and I think he'd fancy his team's chances. I'm hopeful Smith is aggressive with his declaration and doesn't bat on tomorrow/tonight.

Should declare overnight. Seems the perfect target for an interesting final day. Just under 4 RPO means India have a decision to make, rather than making the choice for them by batting it out.

Will definitely declare overnight I would think. India have nothing to lose so they might as well go for it. The series is gone anyway. Lyon isn't exactly the best bowler to have in a 4th innings either so India may definitely fancy their chances. Would have us as favourites though obviously. Smith has been awesome.

He won Australia the first test.

He won Australia the first test.

I'd say that was an exception to the rule though. That pitch had more bounce which he likes and I thought he took most (or nearly as many) wickets in the first innings? He tends to bowl too straight and not exploit the rough parts of the pitch (which this Sydney pitch is starting to get).

That's the thing, they perform well at home and get picked for the away matches because of that. Then they perform poorly away but won't or can't be dropped for the subsequent home series.

Till now he hasn't delivered that often for Australia, yes, but I think he bowls well in conventional style and don't think bowls too straight if there is help from pitch. Lots of shots by Vijay and Kohli were through covers in Adelaide 4th innings where he was pitching up outside. He does use bounce well, but the uneven bounce and rough in Sydney can help him too. He is not that wayward to not use the rough. Will it be enough for them to win? Don't know.

Besides, if Harris, Hazelwood and Starc maintain the discipline shown in first innings, scoring at 4 as it is will be tough irrespective of Lyon. The uneven bounce and rough in pitch can help pacers too. It didn't help India because of their wayward bowling and I didn't see Australia's inning in full but cricinfo commentary had mentioned that there were lots of unplayable deliveries when Australia were batting, which is not being reflected through score card.

There is chance of rain tomorrow too I read. So, all in all, declaring overnight has low risk.

Fair play to Umesh Yadav for bowling the worst possible spell in test match cricket

There is no chance of winning the WC with this bowling. We might as well play 9 batsmen and Bhuvi, Ashwin

Epic bowling day by India that.

Australia will declare overnight, I guess.

Nice declaration from Smith. Should be a terrific day of cricket.
