India vs England

The BCCI decision to not adopt the DRS is just one of the most ridiculous things I can think of any governing body doing, it improves the game drastically.

DRS has been done to death Fiskey

Re on Trott's call, I thought the impact started just outside the off stump, and even in DRS it would have been ruled not out. Could have gone either way though, much much close.

I know its been done to death but it simply belies belief when the decision that has been come to is so non-sensical.

I realise the technology is imperfect, but that's the reason for the umpire's call element to the system, you can literally never get a worse decision under DRS (used properly) than you can get with standing umpires. For a board to decide consistently that they would rather maintain a greater element of chance in decision making is truly shocking.

India seem to have a strange obsession with Chawla, gave him his debut at 17, still persisting with him now. He has never looked like an international cricketer to me.

Dhoni has some balls man. Huge call to take four spinners.

I know we are trying to contain, but almost no catchers is ridiculous!

Not one second seamer seems ridiculous too. Variable bounce and with old ball, Anderson will be licking his lips. How lucky are we that Finn is not playing?

All balls, little brain. Have we forgotten how to read our own pitches now?

Playing in India makes for terrible viewing nowadays. I prefer Australia or South African pitches.

Test cricket in the sub-continent is pretty taxing to watch.

First two days especially. This session looks like it's been exceptionally slow though. Just 60 odd runs?!

Ojha, Jadeja, Chawla and Ashwin

We have set our stores on spinners haha. One thing though, we won't be lacking in over rate lads.

Or Jadeja and Ashvin have been selected as batsmen ;). Mind boggles with Chawla selection.

Well you can blame the pitch for that. 400 plus looks like a real good score on this pitch, with the ball starting to reverse as early as the 30th over.

With Monty, Swann and Anderson, England will eat us up. Happy days I suppose.

Bell 1 of 28 balls

Jadeja has been pretty good so far. There's nothing on pitch in terms of turn but has kept the pressure on batsman well.

There's still another 4 days for India to screw up.. I'm sure they will based on recent matches.

We're slightly ahead here.

Root's gotten off the blocks pretty quick, though. And Prior to come..

The type of pitch where it is impossible to know what a good score is until both have batted,

The fact KP looks in good nick yet still can't get it off the square suggests 300 is about right.

Lose him early in this next session and we'll struggle to make 250.

Pieterson out. We'll struggle to make 200 here. Very predictable performance from england so far.

This has been a boring match so far.

It's called test match cricket lads.

Looks like it isn't only the Indian cricketers too used to the shorter formats ;)

A test match with a team batting at two runs per over, absolutely feck all pace in the pitches and only a slip for spinners. That's not a typical test match.

Anything north of 250 would be a competitive score here I think, the only decent thing to come out of the day is Root who looks pretty competent, much better than Patel.

It's nothing to do with being an Indian supporter Heapy. How many times you've had a score of 180 for 5 after 90 overs?

We are having impromptu drinks break. What is this now? psyching the batsmen out? So what if you are ahead on overrate? Throw as many as possible Dhoni and try to get one more batsman out. Clown.

Not typical nowadays granted, but not un-heard of either.

I've found it an interesting watch anyway,

Joe Root looks like a class act.

Pietersen apparently said its the most difficult pitch he's batted on in Test cricket.

We couldn't beat them with swing, seam or spin. Trying our hand at besting them with the luck of variable bounce. I hope england get the better hand even here.

Would be a disgraceful way to come out with a series draw.

We're taking the term home advantage to a new level. The pitch is so fecking slow and that's why it was a boring day.

I watched the first hour and my word this pitch is slow as feck.

How are Indian batsmen in these conditions?

Quit the whining. The reason I like test cricket is the sheer diversity of the types of pitches as well. I saw until lunch yesterday, and I actually liked the struggle. The way we have batted, England will win this anyway, so it really doesn't matter.

It's quite ordinary for the fans of either side to claim that it's been a tedious day of cricket due to the pitch causing variable bounce. It's such a low score compared to the other days of test cricket. We are hardly comparing these scores with T20 innings.

What makes you sure of an England win? Maybe they will, but it sounds silly that you are basing this on England innings alone without even seeing India batting on this track. I'm not sure you are wumming like TR
