India vs. Australia

didnt he get the first wicket of the day in his second over .. i turned it off then .. did he pick up 2 more in that same over

3 wickets in 4 balls. We wrapped it up bright and early.

Great victory. Hopefully we go on to take the series from here. Would be a lovely sunset series for a great bunch of indian batsmen.

brilliant. two more wins and Sachin's century record is safe forever.

Great win

No chance. Just face it, Ponting is going to go down statistically as the best batsman after Bradman.

no matter what happens, he won't be regarded as a better batsman than Lara or Tendulkar.

You appear to think that the ACB will drop one of their best batsmen ever on the back of a poor test series. Do you think it's run by a bunch of muppets?

I just checked -- Ponting's scored around 900 runs at an average of 46, with 3 centuries and 4 half centuries over the last 12 months.

Your posts are mind boggling.

If they lose this series 3-0, he will be stripped off his captaincy and then he'll slowly lose his confidence and by the end of the next year he'll be dropped. That is what I'm hoping for anyway.

It would be unimaginable for Ponting to be dropped even if India clean swept the series. He hasn't lost a test series in fecking millenia and he's in excellent batting form.

Plus there's no challenger for captaincy immediately. They're grooming Clarke but he's a good couple of years away from being ready. Only just not getting sure of his own place in the team.

Lets not be stupid here. This is the weakest Australian team to have to come to India in 10+ years and yet we only managed to save the first match. If we can win this series, it will still be a great achievements against the remnants of one of the greatest test teams ever.

Ponting dropped? That will do me.

Important to remember this is Watsons, Whites, Haddin and Johnsons first real testing tour away from Australia. They will be better for this experience.

Expect similar results like this for India when half their team retires in the next few months.

Cracking win for India.

We are in denial if we think we're a chance of taking out this series, or even levelling the pegs. Our bowling line-up just can't hack it... It's a shame McGill AND Warne have retired, they'd have made the series interesting no doubt.

On a side note Dhoni is a great bloke/captain.

On another side note someone shove a rocket up Laxxman's arse. He's the one batsman left in the world that I really love watching play (now Mark Waugh  and Damien Martyn are retired)!

GET SOME FORM UP YA VVS!

Why would you want that?

And whoever the feck's saying Ponting will ever get dropped needs their head checked. He's on course to become the leading run-scorer EVER, the Little Master better watch his back.

Hayden's the one in the firing line. Katich too one would think. I'm not entirely convinced with Johnson, Watson and have never really been a fan of Clarke, though he is quality.

Also, Harbijan's an absolute khunt of a bloke.

And Ishant Sharma is a Indian Legend in the making.

Sharma doesn't always find his rhythm but he's a fine bowler when he's on song. Bowled some superb spells during that last match.

It's unrealistic for the Australians to expect to get a result over there to be honest. Even in the greatest era of their entire cricket history they only managed one series win.

Good start. That should be the series sealed barring a monumental collapse.

Seeing the Aussies struggle is great fun though.

A Laxman century - something to be treasured. Has looked really comfortable. Not been in trouble once. Gambhir is looking good for his double.

The Ozzies will need something special to save this one.

Match is entertaining when Kumble's off and Dhoni's captaining the team.

Laxman's a god.

Why oh WHY OH WHY does he have to bat well when I CANT feckING WATCH! The bastardo!

Laxman only performs against the Aussies. Great player, but not up there with the best. We can play a 50yo laxman and Sachin against the Aussies and they'll still score centuries.

Yeah, was surprised to see he's only scored 13 tons in his career, 6 of which have been against us.

But still, he's far and away the best batsman to watch. And it pisses me off no end that he ALWAYS scores runs when I can't fecking watch the match, he's the only player I want to do well, and want to watch.

Was so excited when India toured earlier this season, only for me to miss out on all his good innings's (don't think there were too many, now I think about it). The bastard!

I don't think he is more watchable than Sachin or Lara at their prime. His trailing foot doesn't move at all, some times.

Hrm, well consider this - my favourite player EVER is easily Mark Waugh, followed by Damien Martyn (and Lance Kluesner, though he wasn't as aesthetically pleasing, he was just exciting), simply because they were so classy and easy on the eye.

For mine Laxman's the only player left that is such a joy to watch when he's on form. Definitely rates up there with Waugh and Martyn as far as easy on the eye-batting is concerned.

On a side note, Waugh's got to be one of the most talented, yet the most laconic player to play the game.

As far as his trailing foot is concerned, he seems to have a good stretch with the bat/arm and can time his cuts to perfection. When he's up and running the trailing foot doesn't seem to be much of a factor.

Mind you I haven't been able to watch him in a while! Especially when he's on form! BASTARDS!

had a chat to warnie and/or ponting, he did.

'advanced hair, yeah yeah!'
