India v Australia 2013

What an innings from Pujara...his boundary making is almost as effortless as Sehwags was in his pomp. Lovely technique too...I really hope he signs for an English county over the summer.

Yes you'll. Pattinson and Clarke are probably the only two players who'll get in your side from this Australian side.

While this may seem the case, the conditions in England will suit Australia so they will be more of a challenge, while I agree we will win, the matches will be closer than people think.

Yes but their batting isn't good enough. Their pace bowling attack is pretty good but their batting is terrible. Clarke is obviously world class but apart from that no-one is even good.

Pujara's my new favourite. I'm going to try learning from him, especially his technique.
Another 300 runs tomorrow(unless there's a collapse), and then have some overs to bowl at them in the end, if we score these runs fast. We'd have another chance to win by an innings and some runs

Pujara could get a triple tomorrow. Was Gavaskar talking out of his arse or was he right when said Pujara had a triple hundred right from the U15's to Ranji Trophy level? Impressive if so. Looks a great talent although I think Kohli will eclipse him.

Really impressed by Vijay in the first session. The normal Vijay would have given it away with a stupid shot but he stuck around and looked very comfortable.

We are going to batter the feck out of this Aussie side.

One world class player, and a couple of hopefuls.

Shows how well England played out in India too

If England lose to NZ and Australia, what would that mean?

You are not going to "batter the feck out of them". It would be a close series, with England edging it by a whisker. Aussie fast bowling resources are good and their batting won't be this inept in familiar conditions.

Unsurprisingly, ghaliboy has disappeared after whining about the pitch while Australia were batting. Nothing wrong with this pitch - just shows how poor Australia are that a poor Indian team is battering them.

Really random question, probably that England haven't played well?

NZ's bowling attack will surprise many IMO. Not saying they'll beat England but their bowling attack with Boult, Southee etc is very good.

Ugh, I wasn't running away guys, it's ok. I'm here to have a moan now!

That was a really REALLY shit day. After creating a lot of pressure and keeping the scoring down to a minimum in the first session for some reason Clarke just took his foot off the gas. I switched on just as Doh and Maxwell started their spells for about 10 overs and literally after 1 shot the field went back. The selectors have NO idea about conditions at all. First 1 spinner on a dustbowl. Then drop that spinner and a quick for two spinners on a hard crusty pitch with a bit in it for the bowlers (though it flattened out hard it looks like).

I just don't understand it. Our spinners are shit. There is no dancing around it. But why put the field back straight away? I Just see it as 'you mays well attack even though the spinners are shit'. What does Clarke have to lose? Make the batsman go over the top and through the field to get runs. They fecking got runs anyway.

Pujara is awesome. Fantastic temperament. I caught some of the final session as well and he was solid as a rock. Didn't even look like getting out.

Selectors have dropped a bollock massively on this tour. What a fecking mess.

Why was Lyon dropped after one test, stupid decision to replace him with a part timer in Maxwell. Surely play him and Doherty together? Cannot believe there are no good slow blowers wanting to follow in Warne's footsteps!

I honestly haven't been that excited about an Indian batsmen in the last decade or so. Obviously he needs to score runs outside India, but his technique is fantastic.

Vijay and Pujara dismissed, but the job's almost done. Just need the other batsmen to be responsible now...Anything above 550 by the last couple of hours would be enough, I reckon.

They should go for it IMO. The lead is already big enough and the pitch is doing enough now. Consolidate one hour after lunch and then clobber the Aussies.

How shit are these Australians that even Murali Vijay racked up 150+ against them.

Oh, there goes Tendulkar. :nervous: Unlucky!!

Looks like we batted mindlessly in the post lunch session. The lead should be good enough to take care of the Aussies but still there is no harm in being more sensible. We should have made sure that we batted only once in this test match.

It's part of our plan to give Maxwell four wickets so he isn't dropped for the next game.

About 50 runs short, but the wicket seems to be acting up now. Interesting session ahead for the Aussies.

Never underestimate an Indians ability to make the impossible, possible.

Two catches dropped already. Kumar has been very impressive so far.

Boult, Southee and Bracewell.

Going to be one of the top 3 fast bowling attacks in the next 3 years.

NZ in NZ won't be easy. They usually have green tops where their seamers can bowl sides out cheaply.

Plus our quicks barring Anderson aren't in great form.

NZ tracks aren't very green in the last 4 years.

England will win easily, though. NZ aren't a test quality batting unit. Lots of potentially good batsmen who under perform.

That's a catch-22 situation, isn't it? On green tops, their bowling will have an advantage but their ordinary batting will be more vulnerable. The English decent seam bowlers will also be more potent on such surfaces. Though it is still their best chance. They had to tailor the tracks last time India visited, due to our financial prowess, but tracks like the 2002/03 India series will be their best bet. Low scoring, 2-3 day test matches can even out things.

They have talented batsmen in Guptill, Taylor, McCullum & Williamson, need 1 or 2 two to make a good 50 on green tops. Would be an interesting series on small grounds. I am pretty sure the New Zealanders won't fold at home like they did in South Africa.

This is the worst Aussie side to visit India in my lifetime. I have seen better Zimbabwean sides come here.

Love to see them reeling like this. For me, in world cricket, the sight is only second to watching England suffering like this.
