India v Australia 2013

Stop crying about the pitch, Nancyboy. This is a good wicket, with something for both the fast and spin bowlers. Do you prepare pitches to suit our batters when we come to Australia? Why would we prepare fast and bouncy wickets?

Also, Warner's dismissal wasn't the pitchs' fault. The idiot shouldn't have played with an angeled bat in the third over of the innings.

Good to see you bitching and moaning though. I am enjoying it. I wish more Aussie posters post on this thread.

Ignore the players saying it was a better pitch than the last one ehh.. Why don't we set the pitches up just like they are in Australia? Oh wait. Its called home advantage and you do the same.

My dogs shite was runny, it beats a big dry log on the carpet though.. Doesn't it?..

:lol: 'home advantage' is to prepare some of the shittiest toilet decks in the history of cricket and bowl 80 overs of spin? How then is home advantage to prepare a pretty good deck for batting with maybe something in it with the ball trying to prepare an advantage? It's just trying to be neutral. Like I said half the gumbies in the top order can't play spin. Hughes just wants the ball on the back stool at club height outside the off stump and can't play anything else, Watson just lunges forward or rocks back regardless and Warner just chops at everything in sight until he's set.

Cowan got a dud (but it was a ridiculous ball, half tracker going through at half stump height ), South African umpires are known to give a lot of pitching leg-side LBW's to left handers.

:nervous: it's crazy though every time India does something regulation like field a dead bat the crowd goes nuts. Always flicking back to the cricket thinking there is a wicket.

Also, Warner's dismissal wasn't the pitchs' fault. The idiot shouldn't have played with an angeled bat in the third over of the innings.

To a ball on a good length shooting through at half stump height . Not many would have done much with that. Especially coming back into a left hander. Not the easiest ball to play whoever you are.

Good to see you bitching and moaning though. I am enjoying it. I wish more Aussie posters post on this thread.

 I don't really give a feck. I'll moan all day. I've played enough cricket in many countries on some absolute shite decks and scored runs it's just a shame to see that international standard test cricketers from Australia going out there with a 'I AM JUST GOING TO PLAY MY NATURAL GAME' and getting out. It's pathetic. Selectors having an ultra-mare as well.

Aussie cricket is an absolute shambles so much so that Clarke sticks out like a sore thumb. Want to bum the guy he's so good. It's a shame none of the other spastics value their wicket at all. But some of these selections have been ridiculous.

Harbhajan singh is fecking shite, about as threatening as a sleeping sloth. Should have been dropped for that shot he played in the first innings alone. Ashwin should be bowling now but this is what happens when you have a bowler who the captain feels obliged to bowl.

Agreed on that point. "Play your natural game" is one of the most cringe worthy lines. It's fecking test cricket, you need to learn to curb your natural instincts and battle it rather than taking the easy way out.

We've got a young junior lad in our team and he's 6ft 4 (15yo, harmless and a lovely lad). Funnily enough the 5 times he's batted with me he's scored runs. All I ever say to him is 'relax, watch the ball and play your natural game. You're here to have fun aren't you? Not be a superstar.' Cause he just goes the tonk all the time and it's people telling him not to be stupid that get's him out.

So it's not the most cringeworthy lines. It's one of my favourite lines :D.

But THIS. THIS is test cricket. International standard players that genuinely can't play spin. I rag on Hughes constantly because he never should have been brought back to test cricket. His technique is just completely wrong. All you have to do is look at him to see 'if I just keep moving the ball across him and don't bowl short on the offside at all he's got absolutely fecking nothing.' It's infuriating.

I love Warner and have actually watched him on the field score 160 against us and he fecking toweled some of the bowling that I really rated at the time. I knew then he'd play for Australia. So I really like him and want him to do well but he's honestly out of his depth on these slow and low uneven pitches. He can't just hit clean through the line from the get go against the new ball. He's going to do feck all in England as well I can just feel it.

It doesn't make me angry at India, or the pitch. I might moan a bit but it is just me letting off steam that some of these royal fecking gumbies play for Australia and they are just ODI bred one-trick ponies that never take responsibility and grind out an innings. It's so fecking obvious to and it still keeps happening. Clarke is the only player in the last 2 or 3 years that I've seen as someone who really took responsibility for his wicket and might score at a strike rate of 30 but then convert.

Not enough emphasis is being put in this through Australian development these days. I absoltuely fecking loathe T20 cricket but for me it does raise the level of the players fitness through the expense of turning them into slog-athon gumby batsman. It turns up their twitch intensity and really shits all over their mental ability to grind out an innings.

I'm sick of seeing it.. /rant

You are right, not many 20-20 players, who just plant the foot and hit the ball. Warner should be nowhere near the test team. Someone should show him how to play with a straight bat.

The pitch is a sub-continental wicket with low bounce. Lot of runs for good batsman, who are ready to apply themselves. There is a reason this is called test cricket. It's not 4 T20 innings played over 5 days.

You are learning from the RAWK thread. It is your favorite, right? :p The lull after couple of great eras seems to be playing on your mind. If this continues for another 5 years, we might have to create a "Nancyboy goes into meltdown thread". ;)

Jokes aside, it was going to happen one day. Every great team falls, and so have the Australians. You feckers have sent fans all over the world crying to bed a lot over the last 15 years. It's our turn. Let us enjoy it, while it lasts. India is fully capable of fecking this up at any moment. We lost to the English in the last series after all.

It's the same all over mate. Test cricket won't last the onslaught from the T20 bullshit.

If I wasn't in India, I won't give cricket a minute of my day. The love of the game is long over for me.

Yeah I know mate!

It's seeing the selectors and the politics making a fecking mess of it all with injury bullshit and contract stupidity that is the fecking most ridiculous part.

Talented players who you can clearly see aren't fit for test cricket having their confidence and career dragged through the dirt in the hope that they perform while players who are genuine test cricket candidates get left out in the cold.

Shitting!

Why can't Clarke roll over like the rest of them?

You are narrating me the story prevalent in Indian cricket for ages. Good see the Australians have caught up.

Who do you think is missing out? They should have convinced Hussey to play on and retire after this series. You miss him badly.

I also don't think you guys are making the right selection from the squad that is here. Personally, I would go with this XI:

Cowan
Watson
Khawaja
Clarke
Henriques
Wade
Smith/Maxwell
Pattinson
Starc
Lyon
Doherty

I don't like Watson in the top order. Also I am not convinced on Khawaja.

Henriques shouldn't be there because in truth Watson should be batting at 6 as the all-rounder a la Symonds of old. Starc for some reason can't swing the red ball as much or seem to get the mongrel to fire up and take wickets. He always seems to be playing the 'should I be doing this skipper?..... Ok I will' kind of roll.

Pattinson is fine, Siddle is fecking abysmal, doesnt swing or seam the ball and has only started bowling better by not just firing in half trackers 4 times an over. Lyon.. I don't think he's good enough. Even if he is the best we have I just don't think he deserves to be exposed to these kind of cartings.

Mike Hussey for me has never been a *great* player of spin. But you're right. His experience here would have been very important.

Trent Copeland and Josh Hazelwood are two that I think are missing out at the expense of dross like Siddle. Butterworth and probably George Bailey are very good candidates. I don't know why Bailey is playing ODI and T20 honestly. He's garbage at hitting out. Quiney should probably been given more of a go and he's one that has been a bit fecked over.

When they had Kwaj, Quiney and Hughes vying for the spot it was ridiculous to pick Hughes over the other two who are very good technically correct batsman. Voges is another who has been completely fecked over at international level.

But this Indian team right now you are right there is some real talent there. Especially Pujara. Real old school test batsman he looks like.

Why can't Clarke roll over like the rest of them?

Cause he's world class :D

Liverpool boy! I had met him a few times at Kingsgrove sports and saw him a couple of times in the nets at 17 or so. Thems were the days. When I knew I was a lazy cnut instead of actually being a lazy cnut for 15 years :D

Pattinson is going to be deadly on this pitch.

Pujara is awesome. Love an old school, correct test batsmen when I see one. The rest I am not convinced.

The opening combination, which was awesome during our good run has gone completely tits up. Gambhir had a poor run of form running almost 2 years before he was eventually dropped for this series. I don't know how long we can keep persisting with Sehwag, I believe he is done as a test opener. Vijay is just shit. We have a talented lad in Rahane, but it seems he'll have to move to Chennai Super Kings and suck some balls to get a look in.

In the middle order, Kohli is good but needs to show more patience. Sachin's time is coming to an end and Rohit Sharma, who should be his natural successor, can't be arsed as he is already an IPL millionaire. Dhoni is Dhoni.

The less said about the bowling the better. There is a serious lack of talent in the spin bowling department. We don't have anyone to complement Ashwin. Yadav, our best fast bowler, is highly injury prone.

So, we are not looking that bright either. Though we'll kick anyone's ass in the money league. We are rich!

Ignoring Sachin we only have 2 batsman who are anywhere near good enough to play for India - Kohli and Pujara. The rest are abysmal, even Rahane. Same old story with the bowling. One can only hope Umesh Yadav does not end up like Pathan but it looks to be going that way

I don't understand the hate for the pitch. I have no problem for homes teams setting up pitches that suit them. Australia do it in creating bouncy fast pitches to hinder teams like india when they come play us.

In the end both teams have to play on the thing, so you can't blame the pitch for our batters not being able to play spin and as a result getting out if the other team is finding a way to make runs on it.

Hard bouncy pitches don't hinder anyone :wenger:. Unless it's Perth where there is genuinely an extra yard in it for the quicks. You can't set out to give your team a 'home advantage' by producing a hard bouncy pitch. It's what test cricket is supposed to be played on if you're thinking neutral.

Hard on the first 2 days, breaks up the next couple and mines on the final day.

Not inconsistent bounce, puffs of dust, spinner big wicket hauls on the first day and slop for the remainder of the test.

Playing on bouncy pitches is what the Australian players are used to and actually good at. Its clear when teams like India and such come here they struggle with the extra bounce. So I'd put that down to a home advantage.

For fecks sake Clarkey.

What happened? I decided to take a nap when Australia were 190 odd for 4, got up and India was batting.

Is the pitch keeping really low? Or did the Australians shit the bed?

If the pitch is keeping low then our batters will be suspect too against Pattinson and Siddle. It looked good in the morning.

Wade played a poor shot of a poor ball and rest had no clue on how to play spin before Clarke declared.

This is quite the snooze fest. 40 runs in 25 overs...

Good bowling from the Aussies. Not sure they can maintain this consistency in line and length though. Pujara and Vijay need to capitalise on this base they've laid out for themselves, especially Vijay. Can't afford to give his wicket away cheaply again.

We are going to batter the feck out of this Aussie side.

One world class player, and a couple of hopefuls.

Shows how well England played out in India too

India have unearthed another wall.

Will be interesting to see how he does on faster bouncier, and pitches conducive to swing, sideways movement.

Pujara's class was never in doubt. He is a terrific player.

I am plesantly surprised by Vijay. Didn't know he had it in him to buckle down and play a proper test innings. IDLI Power!!!

Told you Ghali, nothing wrong with the pitch. Plenty of runs for batters, who are ready to put their head down and play proper shots. Warner should go back to the dressing room and study the position of Pujara's bat throughout the innings. Test batting masterclass.

If only we showed 75% of this application against the English, the results would have been different. :(

His footwork, backfoot play and the ability to deal with the short ball suggests that he should be successful. Also has tremendous temprament.

The biggest worry with him are his dodgy knees. Knee injuries always scare me and he has already had a couple of operations on them. He is a batsman so it's not alarming but still a worry.

Yes you'll. Pattinson and Clarke are probably the only two players who'll get in your side from this Australian side.

They are much better though.
