I was waiting for finger pointing and gaslighting and it starts right before 10 minutes. Right on point.

Mumbai is probably worse off right now than delhi and things are progressively opening up. NOT only because the Govt is allowing it. It's because people just think feck it. They're tired and assume it's manageable. Work wise, most offices are making sounds about getting people back in. I'm guessing another set of lockdown is not doable from the Govts angle and people won't comply

But yeah, this was like demon all over. Announce and then stare at yourself in the mirror for being so awesome. The sheet lack of policies, thrust and support from the center in the weeks after the lockdown is the defining moment for our 2020-2021 now. You can blame states, it's easy. But the states were responsible for the on ground execution and I can vouch that as incompetent as BMC and Maha Govt had been all these years, they were superb in the first 6 weeks. They just needed much much more support.

Ya. That's his expression. He was thinking the host will go easy. But the show name was hard talk and the host wasn't an enslaved Indian journo reading a script. So he didn't care with his lame duck threats like Su Swamy will sue him and all. And just laid down all the facts.

I almost spit my coffee when he talked about Modi approval ratings

Finger 4 or finger 8 holds no tactical advantage for the chinese. We should still claim upto finger 8 because it is Indian territory. The major point of concern is the galwan sector. Now there was never any "differing perception" about galwan like there is about pangong, the chinese have no justification for being in galwan. Be that as it may, the chinese are on galwan because the main road running parallel to it leads to north ladhak. The chinese could easily take over the road or even shell it thereby effectively cutting of road reinforcements to north ladhak.

The chinese might give up in pangong and not fully withdraw from galwan thereby putting north ladhak at security risk. The govt might even accept this and sell it as a victory whilst it would be a strategic loss to India as far as the security of galwan valley and north ladhak are concerned.

The chinese are not twats, they didn't do this only to go back without any concessions. We might never know in the forseeable future what these concessions were.

Devil is in the details.

So only a matter of time that despite best efforts of central and all the state Govts, the reality on the ground will be exposed if not by true numbers but by sheer panic or helplessness of the general public.

It is quite amazing that the 2 month lockdown which destroyed the economy and led to suffering of so many migrants and other poor people was completely and utterly wasted by Govt at all levels. They could not even procure enough test kits in 3 months! Doubt they even arranged for more ventilators or oxygen cylinders.

India will be the only country to have gone through the entire pandemic without community transmission. Another example of marvelous handling by the govt.

For anyone who can't understand Hindi - he basically says Chinese soldiers are only-children, pampered by parents, so they will think of their parents and not their nation, and will not be good fighters.

2nd one is even worse, apparently Maoist China in 1962 (when they beat us) was Buddhist so they had spiritual power for the nation, now they are selfish atheists who won't die for the country. (Having been to China, the funny thing is they have been building replica Buddhist temples since 2000). Same stuff about one-child as the 1st video. One acual fact that Vietnam beat them in the 70s.

There seem to be some experts on this forum who know the intricacies of world politics. They might know better.
But from a common man point of view, I feel China is asserting its supremacy in the region. Just making sure that India does not blindly side with whatever lunacies Trump is planning against China in near future.

Hard to pin point on China'a actual intentions but they are trying assert themselves as THE dominant power in the region by encroaching on a disputed neutral zone of sorts. After Indo-China war of 1962 there were line of actual controls drawn instead of settling border disputes once set for all. They have pretty much ignored the followed line of control for last 50+ years and started building camps in the area that Indian army was patrolling previously.

Most likely to do with the US being vehemently against China and India cozying up to US as a catalyst. But there are deeper issues at play.

Last year, india revoked a certain article in its constitution that gave a special status to the region. Post that some speeches made by the elected party included phrases that China and Pakistan occupied territory of Kashmir is India's. China has invested heavily in the CPEC programme that has a major roadway throgh that area and they need to create a buffer in case things go south

Essentially they're looking after their assets

BJP was probably was told about the 10-15 articles written on Shailaja teacher (Health Minister from Kerala) in international media and felt they need to appease their overlord. Hence this Modiji knew about it before Kerala knew.

How does it matter if it was a show or not? Wish government also did this "show". The fact that people (not pointing at you)have started scrutinizing sonu sood for his work because some tweets have gone missing shows how petty those people are.
