ICC World T20 2016

I feel sorry for Kohli. Hope Dhoni's preparing his retirement speech as we speak

Dhoni was having a laugh in the end. Basically said that we lost due to the toss and conditions. The bowling was garbage. Pandaya's 18 runs over and that Jadeja's 6 misfield cost us the match.

So were his field placements. No third man inspite of Bumrah bowling slower balls. Not giving Ashwin his full quota of overs.

Garbage.

I think some of the bowling can be excused. But the captaincy and no balls were what killed us.

The bowlers have been good this tournament.

Lol if Simmons went out earlier, Russell would've just done more damage. Dwayne Bravo didn't even get a bat. You guys just don't get it. Indian fans only know how to blame their team. England chased 230 on this ground rofl.

Maybe they do but I am not talking to a Uruguayan now, am I? :p
How do you know? I could be a fervent Uruguayan football fan but an England cricket supporter!

Anyway, where are you from? How many football world cups you got?

Yes!

I don't get it. Time and again batsmen were getting away with top edges for 4.

Should we blame the flyover collapse in Kolkata then? Bizarre statement to make.

Nah. Simmons was their last proper batsman and maybe Bravo at a stretch. The rest are pure sloggers who 9 times out of 10 will not last too long.

All we needed to do was get Simmons early.

Two completely different approaches. India ran a lot. Windies just fecking hit the ball out of the park.

Should be a fun final. England underdogs.

Don't disagree with Dhoni. I think the match was lost at the toss.

Just that kind of a pitch.

Pandya was garbage though.

4 overs for 45 in the middle makes it a <10 RPO game from 16 overs with ten wickets in hand.

Right, if this was Eden Gardens with a turning track. On a good pitch like that? Guys who can muscle it for boundaries are always going to have the advantage. We saw what happened to WI on a turning track the other day...

For a nation who invented the game and won pretty much diddly squat in it, you are quite arrogant.

Blaming the toss for the garbage Pandya bowled and the no balls is nonsense.

Your bowling was hardly great, but higher totals have been chased there with ease.

At the half way stage the only question mark was which West Indies side would show up with the bat and once it became clear it was the side that knew which way round to hold the bat 190 was never enough.

Surprised Rahane's not getting more criticism for his utterly rudderless knock on a flat pitch, if that was Dhawan...

Nah. Our media is, because it sells to hype us up, but in all sporting competitions, our fans have pretty low expectations. Read back through this thread if you want evidence of that.

Sometimes you just have to give it to the other team and really in this case, it was the toss so you don't even have to do that. India would have chased the same total.

Dhawan would've got out at 5.

Rahane's 40 from 35 looks awfully bad in hindsight especially with India ending 2 down. Maybe they should have stuck with Dhawan considering this was a flat track?

I still don't get the point of even preparing these flat tracks. If a T20 match produces 350+ runs, I'd actually call it a poor match, mo matter how entertaining it is, because although the pitch is same for the 2 sides, it becomes a contest of whose batsmen have more power, who can slog better!

uh, I didn't blame the toss for that.

We'd have lost even if someone else had bowled instead of Pandya(who?). The no balls maybe, but that's the nature of the game. You can't say "we'd have won if not for no balls".

Ashwin was getting smashed. Jadeja got smashed. We were 8 overs light on that pitch even if you had another bowler instead of Pandya.

If WI had bowled second, they'd ahve gotten smashed in a similar way.

You keep repeating that but it isn't really the case with the majority. Anyway, silly argument..
Who is this majority you experience? Cause they ain't in this thread, unless I've missed something huge it's purely been the Indians who fancied themselves.

You can still point out to obvious mistakes made. Like the 2 no balls along with the catch which then got called a six.
