ICC T20 World Cup 2022

And you thought Indian fans here were crying for no reason
Because saying a game is over after 6 overs is ridiculous in any game. The fact india are getting pumped in this game is because they’ve just bottled the big occasion. Their bowling has been worse than the batting.

India finished well but 169 for today is below par. Given the waste balls in the PP 180 was doable if India had more courage.

Pathetic thing about Indian cricket is that there is no accountability anymore. As good as Dhoni was as a captain , he introduced this culture of trusting the process and not giving undue importance to one off days. Conveniently ignoring that off days happen routinely in semis and final of big tournaments now. I can already tell you the excuses from Dravid and Rohit post match.
"We played well in the tournament, just had an off day today. It happens in knockout tournaments."
"Batting got better in second half"
"We just needed one or wickets in powerplay"
But one thing about Dhoni was blooding in young players. The way he trusted with rohit dhawan jadeja and many more. Here we are still having dhawan as the captain in meaningless odi series.

And Rahul, Bhuvi. Probably Ashwin too

KL Rahul is being groomed to take over captaincy across all formats by current set up and BCCI. Make of that what you will.

Ashwin is such a weird one. We don't play him in T20s with India ever and then just randomly pick him before WCs. We kept trying Chahal continuously in all matches before WC only to drop him since we needed Ashwin's batting...

Well played, England.

Good, smart bowling and some beautiful, fearless shotmaking. Deservedly on course to reach the final.

India with all their sporting riches fail to make any progress at yet another big tournament. And yet again it is due to some very predictable selection choices made on the basis of reputation rather than form. Three of India's top four do not deserve to be here on merit - even Kohli, whose return to form is a surprise rather an expectation. Even Bumrah and Jadeja couldn't have offset this total.

What a partnership from these two. 104 and not even troubled. Cruising to the final and the opening partnership getting a great knock ahead of the final.

Englands batting vs Pakistans fielding and bowling would be a fantastic matchup.

Not really. Scoring 38 off 6 overs will more or less mean you score less than 160. And that against such a strong batting line up would mean playing catch up, which is what's happening. Same thing happened last world cup as well. You cannot be 62 after 10 overs and expect fans to be happy. That's like going 2-0 down in half time and saying it is fine.

You also need to balance against England's performance though. If all the teams in the WC chased on this pitch, very few would do what Buttler and Hales are doing.

Agree partially. England are the best T20I team on paper for sure. But I think most sides go 10+ RPO on this pitch, hence why I said 200 is only par score. There is absolutely nothing in it for bowlers after some swing in first 3 overs. Rashid bowled very well but could have been attacked. English seamers relied on normal flat pitch tactics at death in wide yorkers which was not effective due to short boundaries. They could not rely on bounce like other Oz pitches.
Shane Watson did pitch report and pretty much said this pitch is looking harder and different that how it did for earlier matches. In general team batting first won 4 games here compared to 2 won by chasing side. Butler today bowled for that very reason, otherwise no chance he was batting second on a used pitch given the trend this WC.

India defo need a better opening partnership for batting. They waste so many balls, watching them is crazy as if its a ODI.

I see this said all the time. It's worse than that. Even in ODI this is poor. I mean 20 yrs ago Sehwag used to bat better than this.

It's so funny that India allegedly have the best T20 league, yet as a nation have no clue how to play this format.

This is a hammering.
Tbh it’s not a surprise. England are so good with the bat. Mental strength is what they really excel in. I don’t have a dog in the fight, but India have been very underwhelming the whole tournament. They wouldn’t have even made the semis if it wasn’t for being in the easier group. Lucky to get through even in that one.

I don't think you watch Indian cricket regularly so you don't know what you are talking about. Our bowling is like this only. They require assistance from pitch or conditions to be threatening. Only bowler we have who does well on flat wickets is Bumrah. Indian team management already knows the same, hence why under performance by top order batsmen is the real issue. All folks who watch Indian cricket realise the same, yet you think you know better.

TBF, Sehwag was fantastic to watch. But yes I get your point.

India basically have IPL and so many players to choose from. They really should never have problems finding opening batsman to score in t20.

Always feel like as good as our shit along is our running is so good too, must milk more singles than anyone

This is great batting. One boundary at the least then some singles. Its not even about big hitting. Rahul, Rohit and Kohli are always playing for stumps. Odd one that.

They have no idea who to blood in as a captain anymore so went with a non sense choice like Dhawan. To think at one point, someone punted on Dhoni to be a captain before a WC.

This is phenomenal batting from England.

India have no response at all, bowlers can't get anything to work with.
