ICC T20 World Cup 2022

Honestly I think this should be an easy chase for England. Their fans won't want to admit it but just looking at it objectively, I think this match was decided at the toss to be honest.
Ffs being told the game was over after 6 overs was bad enough, but saying it’s lost at the toss now

India did well this tournament. It’s unfortunate they are going home now. England are getting ready for the trophy presentation after winning the final.

Game set up. England need a good PP but then so do India. Pandya has made it into a tough ask batting second. I'd take the 168 on the board rather than trying to chase it. I'm going to miss the England innings but will watch it when I get back.

But this is not a “normal” game. Obviously if England bat normally, they’ll win.

But that’s like saying if one team scores more than the other, they’ll win.

No it's not like saying that at all.

If India has set target of say 200, then it would have required a phenomenonal performance from England.

So it's the level of difficulty facing England.

This is normal difficulty. Made harder by the nerves of the stage.

Oh calm down, I'd take England's lineup over most, especially with Buttler at the top and Stokes to come in. Unless they collapse mightily, they have too much batting for India to overcome.

Just like yesterday:
- 20-30 runs short
- the captain plays an ODI, wastes six overs at a run a ball
- the most powerful hitters are put under too much pressure to accelerate in the middle
- a non-embarrassing total is achieved through shots at the end

Just like yesterday, an English implosion aside, this is a straightforward chase in a semi-final.

Questions need to be asked of Indian selection and tactics in yet another ICC tournament where we've underperformed.

Difference is yesterday Pakistan never let a batter get away and let loose as hit away as Hardik did and they consistently took wickets to slow it down

I'm pretty certain you'll have changed your tune 5 or so overs into England's innings. For a semi-final, that's a decent score.

Well yes, had India chased instead, India would have been heavy favorites too. It helps to know what score to get and how the pitch is behaving, especially with the stacked international batting lineups you tend to see.

looking at this objectively, i reckon for england to have a chance of getting to the final they need to score at least 168 from their allocated overs.

The only thing more world class than our batting lineup is our ability to collapse

Ireland (177) against Scotland are the only team to successfully chase a score with a higher total than this in the World Cup.

This is the kind of wicket England would’ve needed Root on. They’ve been playing on flat pancakes for years which has benefited statpadding hitters and forced technically great players like Root out.

Pant coming up so early, already negates any swing? He can't pitch it up now

To be fair Malan has forced Root out but I would pick him in the squad. Offers a good bowling option as well.

Well the toss was irrelevant because apparently India wanted to bat first anyway and England wanted to bowl first.

The ball comes on more with the lights on? Someone tell me how that makes sense
