ICC T20 World Cup 2022

Shame all the Indian fans must have switched the game off already.

Have they ever watched T20 cricket before?
They obviously haven't watched any of this world cup that's for sure!

Even more unpredictable than normal.

Even 100 only gets us 160 now.
160 is a defendable total regardless of the pitch. Even on good pitches teams don't just stroll to 160, a couple of bad shots and you're under pressure.

As it is, India have gotten themselves into a good position here now.

Challenging total that,

Should be a close chase, India still favourites for me.

Why is anyone still watching this game? I turned off after 6 overs when the match finished.

Big problem England have is that they don’t have many strike bowlers without Wood. Rashid is one but they’ve played him sensibly. Probably looking at 100 in the final 10 overs.

Went exactly as expected. They got well over 100 in the final 10.

Honestly I think this should be an easy chase for England. Their fans won't want to admit it but just looking at it objectively, I think this match was decided at the toss to be honest.

Slightly under par score despite the crazy Pandya blitz. Shows how poorly the rest batted.

This will be a repeat of yesterday's game.

A normal batting performance should be enough for England. Although English fans will worry, rightly so given the stage.
But this is not a “normal” game. Obviously if England bat normally, they’ll win.

But that’s like saying if one team scores more than the other, they’ll win.

This one will be close. Just need England batsmen to play clever cricket rather than give cheap wickets away like v Sri Lanka. Need to be 50-0 at the end of the powerplay for me to be confident.

Very good total by India this especially after where they were, Pandya in beast mode however some mixed bowling by England. I worry about England chasing this after the fragility they showed against SL and across the tournament. Going to need some players to stand up otherwise they will be going home.

Yes mate looking at it objectively England will piss getting 170 in a world cup semi final v India,

168 is a very good total on this pitch. Bhuvi gets Buttler out early and then it’s completely in India’s hands

England ahead -- semi and scoreboard pressure, we're very much in it

No way in the world this will be an easy chase, India to win from here easy

Before the match you'd have taken 170 as an England fan to chase. But India came back well so will also be pretty happy.

Momentum clearly with India after the final 5 overs.

England need to go all out attack in the PP before the wicket slows down. 70/3 is better than 50/1.

No way. we needed at least 180. We almost could not even almost defend that much against Bangladesh on same ground

It's not bad.

If India get an early wickets it's game on. Obviously if Butler smashes through the PP India are in trouble.

90 all out will be even better

Just like yesterday:
- 20-30 runs short
- the captain plays an ODI, wastes six overs at a run a ball
- the most powerful hitters are put under too much pressure to accelerate in the middle
- a non-embarrassing total is achieved through shots at the end

Just like yesterday, an English implosion aside, this is a straightforward chase in a semi-final.

Questions need to be asked of Indian selection and tactics in yet another ICC tournament where we've underperformed.

There is no such thing as a straightforward chase in any semi final.
