I agree on the captaincy bit - I've had the same criticisms of him in tests as well, but I don't see a viable alternative to lead the test team. He's genuinely a world class batsman, but his captaincy is really poor. And it's weird as you'd expect someone with his intelligence in the game to manipulate a game to his advantage. He also seems to have a blind spot about our openers and how we maximise the power play. We're way too passive, and need players at accelerating in that first power play. I'd like to see Shafique and Fakhar open the innings for a run of matches.
On the second point - he's definitely been underwhelming, but it's meant that others have stepped up. Much of my criticism of this team has been we've been too reliant on Babar, so I'm glad there's others to carry some of the burden, but yes, having a underwhelming series overall (also, he was fantastic in the 2019 World Cup so he's already got a good world cup tournament under his belt).
