ICC Cricket World Cup 2023

What's the record for most runs in a WC by a team? South Africa must be on course to smash it

Will be a raging turner.

India 275-5.

SA 124 all out.
On raging Turner I don't think this Indian line up makes 275 , Indians just don't play spin that well any more it could backfire as well depending on the toss .

Hoping for decent pitch with something for every one We are more than good enough to beat them don't need any distractions and controversy due to pitch .

Bangladesh have been playing exactly like this for 10 years now

It's time they get a move on

SA's fast bowling depth is incredible. Coetzee, Williams on top of the 4 they already have in Rabada, Ngidi, Nortje, Jansen

A product of the pitches they produce. It's no wonder kids want to grow up bowling quick. Good to see.

Was about to write the same. They still play like newcomers who causes one or two upsets in every 2 years.

There was a bit of hope a 50 over WC in Asia would give them a better chance - but the talent just isn't really there is it. Lots of 'good' cricketers, not enough stardust.

They don't produce a new kind of cricketer which is odd for a country with so much interest in cricket.

Decent left hand batter, not tall enough fast bowler bowling early 130s, left arm spinner are the 3 categories of cricketers they produce

Kids only got into and started playing village cricket around 2004, give it another 3-4 years and the generation that grew up on cricket will start getting appearances.

If India qualify for the semifinals, they will play in Mumbai unless playing against Pakistan, in which case they will play in Kolkata

I don't know why this rule is there. It shouldn't be.

Leaving that aside 1) this is the worst pitch for us given we're not a 350+ team 2) you don't want to run into SA on this pitch

I suppose they are pretty unlikely to come 4th at this point unless Aussies go on a quality run.

Yea. I wouldn't rule out a NZ, India, SA 1, 2, 3.

But you're right.. at this point it looks like if India do finish second, it'll be because SA are first

I think this is one pitch where India can lose to anyone, though

Finding it hard to get too excited about Saffers knowing the c word is just around the corner.

I think talent wise they are not that bad. I feel the issue is they tend to give up very early. The likes of Litton Das, Shakib, Shanto, Mahmudullah are very good. I am surprised they have not gone to the next level.

I get the feeling they're going to win this

Gun team
Ind SA semis would be fun for neutrals. Considering SA are ultimate chokers and India have been losing semis as well in the last decade.

They are one of the favourites but I like to see them bat Second chasing half decent totals more didn't go well last time before putting their name on the trophy .

Similarly I would like to see India batting first and set up the targets to see how prepared we are .

Would be a great watch if they kept this momentum going.

I've got a horrible feeling Australia bore their way to 3rd, knock out SA in 2nd - and get hammered by India in a final.

Horrible feeling is regarding the Aussies being dull and knocking out SA - I don't mind India winning it. Before I'm jumped on...ha

India are probably the best side so no issues if they win. Otherwise be great if NZ or SA win but they both have obvious weaknesses. Last thing we need is the Aussies who aren't that good finding a way to win the tournament.
