ICC Cricket World Cup 2023

Would be a great watch if they kept this momentum going.

I've got a horrible feeling Australia bore their way to 3rd, knock out SA in 2nd - and get hammered by India in a final.
Aussie in the final would be a nightmare for anyone. Just read somewhere that barring 1979 all the eventual winners had to beat Australia to win the tournament. Shows their dominance.

How selfish of Mahmudullah to not take boundaries or easy singles just to get his ton

That was a great knock from Mahmudullah considering the context of the game.

Disappointing wc for bangladesh. As for SA , funny how quickly things can change. They were fighting a battle to avoid qualifiers in March and here they are, poised to play sf.

Good performance by us today. Still can’t see past India as clear favourites though

That is incredible from Maxwell. Wow.

Stunning stuff.

40 ball hundred, brutal stuff. Tough figures for de Leede, is that the worst ever figures in a ODI?
113 was the most conceded before, Mick Lewis in 2006 and Zampa last month. Rashid Khan had a worse economy against England in the last WC but only bowled 9 overs for 110.

Maxwell and Warner stole the show but let's no forget Adam Zampa (3-0-8-4)...those are incredible bowling figures!

Stupid from Bairstow, he's been awful this World Cup.

It's like they've forgotten completely how to bat in an ODI, this is terrible stuff.

Jesus christ this is fecking pathetic.

This is turning out to be every bit as bad as any World Cup between 1992 and 2019.

Embarrassing.

I can’t remember a worst defence of a World Cup from reigning champions. England need a big reset.

Does not look like there is any fire in this bunch of English players now after having won the ODI and T20 WCs.

Not really a reset. It will be an organic one as 75% of this team will retire. Plenty of talent in reserve with the batting anyway.

This WC failure is more down to too many players being horrendously out of form/ past their best. It's not like previous WC failures where we were just completely behind the times with the format.

Basically I don't think we'll need a big 2015 revolution to get back to being a good side.

Yep. Poor planning, decisions and form. White ball cricket in England is in a good place talent wise.

I know they are in a dire situation for wickets but stokes is 13 for 38 balls playing a test innings, this is definitely the end of an era for this limited overs team.
