Wow. Really feels like the end of an era. Some fantastic ODI players in this England team but their time is up in this format.
Bairstow, Root and Stokes need to just focus on Test cricket. Malan has been fantastic for a couple years building up to this tournament but hasn't taken the opportunity, which given his age will be his last. Buttler is still an incredible white ball batsmen but it seems the burden of captaincy doesn't suit him. Mooen, Rashid, Wood, Willey, Woakes will all surely be phased out due to age. Brook, Curran and Livingstone have promise but have shown more in other formats so far, unsure why ODIs haven't suited them so well. They'll be part of the squad going forwards but it needs plenty of fresh faces and a change in atmosphere.
Jacks, Crawley, Duckett, Ahmed, Potts and a few others seem need to replace the old guard. Even if they do well its hard to see them replicating the success this white ball side has had over the past few years. Bairstow, Roy, Root, Stokes, Rashid, Moeen, Woakes were giants in this format. What a tragic ending.
