I do think you have an overall correct point though, even in this thread there were complaints that the game might be over quickly and that people who had selected England batsman in their fantasy XI won't get much of a chance to bat. Despite being slight favourites, England have shown they can struggle against any side as they just about beat Ireland this summer and got beat by Scotland last year.

I think something you both haven't alluded to is just how poor (inconsistent?) some of the other teams are. England are a strong outfit and have been the best ODI side for a few years now. Obviously, winning the world cup requires a different mentality to scoring 481 against an under par Aussie side, however, I think, given all the circumstances, they're rightly listed as the favourites. Yes, they'll have the odd hiccup but all teams do.

One of the reasons I really rate this side is because of the strength they have lower down the order - for instance, they could fall to 90-4 and I reckon it's still a 50-50.

Although in fairness I think a lot of them aren’t England fans

This I completely agree with and also alluded the same point after their win over SA. They are probably the only side who even after going 6 down can score some good runs.
 
You just know if this was a series game England would post 400. But because it's the World Cup they're gonna collapse.
 
FFS. This is worrying. If Buttler goes, I'm not convinced we'll be able to chase it.

Part-timers have done well, but I think we need to bring the front-line bowlers back to try to break this partnership before it gets going.

Should bring on Shadab /Amir to try and get a wicket to finish the game.
