ICC Cricket World Cup 2019

Pretty much. If this was a regular fixture, I'd back England all the way but chasing 350, a record score, in a World Cup match with them as favourites is insanely imposing. Not helpful that Jason Roy is probably significantly low on confidence right now.

I agree, I think they'll all need to shake that poor fielding display out of their systems before they go out to bat.

It's very amusing and not surprising that every English fan is worried while Pakistan fans or at least anyone who'd quite like them to win thinks they'll get pummelled in 30 overs or so

Won't be easy, never is chasing 350 against anyone but we handed them plenty of runs and 350 seems par for this wicket. Only need to go a run a ball for the majority of the innings, so no need to panic.

This is England though so expect drama =D

Yeah, let's not start with Shadab...

You just knew Roy was going to get out early after his horrible day in the field

What a shit shot then why would you review that, plum. Shit day for Roy.

Nice of Amir to say thanks to Roy.He's been Pakistan's 12th man today.

The thinking behind the move is sound imo. Roy and Bairstow has a weakness against spin.

Made absolute sense, Faf has started a trend for England's opponents.

Always get the feeling that England could buckle under the pressure of being favourites.

They never have the same aura of Australia and India who seem to thrive being the teams to beat.

This is poor captaincy. Playing one spinner and using up his overs in the powerplay.

Hoping for a Pak win, just to see the arrogance of some of english supporters getting a reality check. Honestly, a loss today could do them good and make them better prepared for upcoming matches. Think they are too dependent on their batting to bail them out.

Yeah agree. He's got the wicket now they should take him off, he will get smashed all over the pitch with the fielders up.

Well theres Malik and Hafeez who both have to bowl. It's not a bad move to go for early wickets now and then rely on scoreboard pressure.

Just wait till we start singing 'Cricket's Coming Home'.

What????

English cricket fans are as cynical and pessimistic as you can get.

We could need 1 run from the final 2 overs to win a game and I'd still be nervous.

I don't think you could possibly find a more pessimistic fan base of a side ranked number one.

The amount of wickets Pakistani bowlers miss out to crap fielding

Who would have thought make judgements so early would be so silly? All this talk about a poor tournament and we're in for a belter today.

Just go and check some of the comments made by ex english cricketers like Vaughan, Hussain etc. Other day Vaughan was getting too giddy that he said this english batting line up can be compared to the peak Australian side batting line up. EVen some of the press are getting too confident and acting like this WC is a given for them Again nothing against this english side as even I believe they are firm favorites but just a bit of reality check is needed to some of these fans (Not all are arrogant or overconfident but some).

Vaughan is an idiot, at times he seems to want to compete with the average Aussie pundit when it comes to idiocy.

I do think you have an overall correct point though, even in this thread there were complaints that the game might be over quickly and that people who had selected England batsman in their fantasy XI won't get much of a chance to bat. Despite being slight favourites, England have shown they can struggle against any side as they just about beat Ireland this summer and got beat by Scotland last year.
