ICC Cricket World Cup 2019

It really looks pretty untenable - not sure why the umpires are wasting time like this

So confirmed now. NZ will resume play at 211/5 tomorrow depending on the weather.

Hopefully the weather stays clear tomorrow.

A bit nervous about tomorrow's run chase. On one hand anything NZ post should be chased by our batting line up but anything can happen chasing in a big WC match. I hope our batters do the job with minimum fuss.

I'd rather the match resume today and India pick up a couple of wickets right away to knock some sense into the DLS calculations.
The value assigned to wickets in hand is ridiculous.

Forecast is fine for today, would be a surprise if he we can't the whole match in.

India needs to play this carefully. Hopefully, the pitch hasn't got any slower today.

I think this is extremely unfair on New Zealand. Instead of being there with Taylor set on 67 they’ve got 2 players coming in cold and having to throw the bat at the ball from ball one.

Guessing there will be a 30 minute interval break for no particular reason other than cricket being backwards?

On the other hand they've probably spent the entire morning doing nothing but trying to smack the ball as hard as possible in the nets.

I assume Jadeja's 'runs saved' stats are somewhat skewed by the fact that he's been a sub fielder but either way he's so far ahead of the rest of the field it's insane.

Stats showing he's the most productive fielder in the tournament.

He's only played 2 games, compared to the 8/9 played the others on the list. Incredible fielder.
Yeah top fielder for sure. I'd still pick Stokes over him as the best fielder in the world but there's not much in it.

NZ should be the last team complaining about rain. They pretty much got to the semis courtesy of that point from the washout game.

But even ignoring that this can go anyway. India could have started to bat yesterday seen off the first few overs and then started again today. No way to have a 100% fair system.

Not totally accurate. The amount of times he has been on as a sub fielder probably adds another 3-4 games to that number. Still brilliant numbers mind you.

Doubt you would be seeing it this way if it was india batting.
It's harsh on NZ, for sure. You might say they should have bowled yesterday but they had no idea the whole day would get rained off.

Now they've got to go from 0-100mph in four overs and then India have the whole day to bat in better conditions.

On another note, if the ICC had had this rain rule in the group stage, India would have beaten NZ and we'd have an India-Pakistan semi-final now. They've basically screwed themselves out of the most lucrative game in cricket.

Ah yes, surely it's considering the sub appearances. I forgot about those..

Yup. Stokes is definitely the better 'pure athlete'. I think Jadeja is a bit better when it comes to running people out.
