ICC Cricket World Cup 2011

:D

Where did you watch it? Which city? The atmosphere and the celebrations out on the streets are just extraordinary. I didn't think that the celebrations post Pakistan could be topped but today was unreal! We should win more WC's

just got back at 4am....they're still dancing on the streets in delhi

Delhi, well gugaon.

I don't really know what's happening outside because I had a few people over. I know youve not followed the game the way some us have, but as someone whose grown up with a cricket obsession and sachin obsession (well he was cricket wasn't he?) , this is a moment I've seen a million times in my head. To see bhajji and yuvi in tears and sachin paraded around like the god that he is, touched my heart.

Tonight I care little for the drama outside. This is personal. This is a moment that within me strikes all the cords in unison and in perfect harmony. Were the champions of the world baby.

Fantastic win, proud to be indian. Great scenes at the end - stunning performance throughout whole tournament and especially to pull it off in the final was something special. One billion million wishes come true at last and the whole nation can hold their heads high for their support too.

Wish i was back in india to join in the celebrations, but here in london (southall) - the streets are packed and everyone is ecstatic and the party will go on through the night.

Well done team india, you deserve it!

Commonwealth champions, to be fair.

Mike will agree...and that's all that matters.

What a great win by team india. Chasing 270+ thought it would be too hard especially losing two early wickets, but the lads never let us down. Buzzing!!!!!!!!!!

Fcukin loved it. Celebrations in Wembley were brilliant but I would have loved to have seen the madness in India.

Fantastic win for India. Sri Lanka made it a great final but the whole tournament has been enjoyable. Great games, great moments, great atmosphere. Just a great tournament.

Although he's generally just winding you up Amol, this time he's also making sense. It's technically the Commonwealth World Cup. Like an extension to the Commonwealth Games because cricket isn't part of that event. Anymore. Since Indian cricketers complained of not being paid enough money to participate.

He's trying to wind me up. Got to give it to Spoony. He always tries hard no matter how little the other cares! He's a tryer alright is our Spoony:lol:

Yeah come back when you write that in English man, I can't go through that gibberish!

Who gives a feck?

You bitters feck should just top themselves instead of ruining other people's joy. Spoony is just wuming while you are seriously being a knob.

feck off and do not cme back to this thread. You utter twat/

I didn't really expect him to perform in the final so it didn't make much of a difference. Losing Sehwag earlier and then Kohli were bigger blows for me. Kohli did a fantastic job yesterday. He and Gambhir really laid the foundation for the win.

Atleast Spoony and MikeUpNorth's Wums are smart enough. You are just a thick twat.

Word up, Salvo.

And can someone tell me why Wankhehe's only a 33K capacity stadium? You would've thought the BCCI would've built a stadium twice if not three times as big.

33k is enough to fill up corrupt coffers, while give overpaid players some hefty perks for winning the CommonWealth World Cup.

The ICC-President is also the agricultural minister in India. If only Rs. 100 million and Rs. 50 million were given to each of those suicidal farmers.

I don't have time for Indian cricketers. They are there not for all the patriotic bull, but for lumpsomes of money. Sachin Tendulkar refused to represent India in the Commonwealth Games because he was underpaid.

That's good because noone has time for you.

Chao.

Tendulkar has carried the burden of nation for 21 years; It was time we carried him (on our shoulders)

Absolutely legendary quote by Virat and spot on too!

For once I do agree. 33K just seems a little small to me given the passion for cricket in this nation. Compare it to a lakh packed into Eden Gardens. Especially keeping in mind that the final was to be held there I would have thought a 60K stadium would have been apt.

Bombay's huge, I see no reason why a 100K stadium could've been built. And despite the amount of money that's generated by the BCCI, I was a bit disappointed with the quality of the WC stadia. I only liked Chennai's.

Are you speaking from experience?

Because I keep hearing about ex players raving about the Indian stadiums, in particular the facilities. People like Tom Moody (I think) have been stunned apparently by the level of facilities in particular for the players and staff which are extremely generous.

But I do think 33K for a country where cricket is religion and a city which is the financial hub of the nation and has produced some of our greatest cricketers has a stadium with such a small capacity. I was quite surprised when I heard that it would be only so much.

Wankhede cant be expanded. Its on marine drive.
I dont think they'll even get permission to raise the stands
Its a great ground tho.
