India deserved champs...as others have said, no easy path to the trophy. Didn't win their group, so had to play the team everyone wanted to avoid(regardless of form) Australia, and then arch rivals Pakistan, finally a very professional unit in SL.

Also in the biggest match possible...Tendulkar and Sehwag both failed, most would say that would place incredible pressure on the big on reputation but short on experience Indian middle order....

But

Kohli
Gambhir and
Dhoni

got the job done without too much trouble....
 
just an amazing display from India and without their two glamour batsmen Tendulkar and Sehwag.

Its like we are witnessing the passing of the baton as India transitions seamlessly into a new generation.

Ghambir and Dhoni have written themselves into Indian folklore.
 
Kohli did very well too. That partnership with Gambhir was crucial and they played very sensibly.
 
Enough doubt for him to say not-out. Very close call but the right decision.

Edit: good decision, best 2 umpires in cricket officiating the game today and doing a good job.
 
Malinga still has 2 left. Need to make sure we don't need much from that last over of his.

I've just been talking to an ex Indian player, and he just said a Malinga hatrick is the only danger India losing the game.

Dhoni is the real deal. He has bossed this match the second he came out to bat. This innings will be remembered for many many years.
 
I'm still very nervous here. The way its going we'll need about 5-6 from the last over. Malinga's been bowling at 4 an over.
 
Dhoni's timing on that shot was delightful. Great knock from him.
 
And again, he deserves to hit the winning shot.

Actually its great for India that they won it without Tendulkar. He got them to the final but this is a proper team.
