Too easy for India at the moment - Sri Lanka look a beaten team.
Dhoni reminds me abit of Roy Keane. Whilst its Gambhir's diligence that has gotten India into this very strong position, Dhon'i's innings is a genuine captains knock. There was such intense pressure when he came in and yet he has gone about his business without drama or fuss. A real class act.

Yuvraj will be man of the WC & he deserves to be.
To give them due credit, with Tendulkar and Sehwag out so early, this is already a phenomenal performance by India to get themselves into this position.
As we said at the after SL's innings, India 'would have to win' this game and winning it they are.
Should they win, Ghambir is establishing himself into an iconic legendary status. He is ample replacement for the departed Rahul Dravid.

I didn't realise they dropped Mendis, I thought he was injured. Strange decision 
50 for Dhoni - excellent innings, really important knock from the captain.
I was pretty confident seeing the wicket hardly did anything during the first innings. In fact I predicted a win with 5 overs to spare.
I'd say alot of that is down to his leadership. He obviously has something very special about him that helps India perform as a sum greater than their individual parts.
Nasser Hussain said something very interesting the other day about how given India is full of so many blockbuster star players, they needed a cool and calm captain who was willing to lead 'from behind' through cajoling and nudging as opposed to a chest thumping personality type captain such as the excellent Ganguly. I think thats a very deep insight and genuinely allows this India side to perform at its best.

Yes you did. I remember your post whilst all your fellow India fans were predicting the end of the world! A very bold call on your part given that chasing 275 in a world Cup Final is a phenomenal ask.

SL's fielding has been as bad as Pakistan's - too many runs gifted to India.
Possibly, but he doesn't look to be fit and I don't think there's much spin on that pitch.
As has been pointed out, SL look to have given up.

They've only dropped one catch and given away about 10 runs. Hardly match changing. Pakistan basically lost the game dropping 5 catches.
I blame my pessimism on India.
Went to watch the 2003 finals (on a big screen at a club), dressed up and with the face painted. Watched us bottle it completely.

I guess with Pakistan I expect it. Drops can happen but overthrows should not and it eases any pressure that SL built up. It won't make a difference but it should not happen as often as it has today.
Dhoni had a word with him just before that shot. Wonder what he said.
