Hulk on the move again?

Chelsea were not going to go for Falcao as Torres is going to be our centre forward next season. We were looking for someone to play on the right and AFAIK Falcao would be wasted there.

Exactly. Plus, a benefit of Hulk is that he could play striker should Torres not find form. Move Hulk upfront and bring Marin onto the wing.

Hulk has appeared to pave the way for a potential move to Chelsea by suggesting it may be time for him to leave Porto.

The 25-year-old Brazil forward has been heavily linked with the European champions in a reported £38million deal.

Asked what the future held for him, Hulk told Lancenet: "I will always continue to work hard and keep my feet on the ground, regardless of whether I stay at Porto."

He continued: "I have won many titles in the past four years at Porto, and I think that I have a great relationship with everyone.

"If the time has come to move on, I'll do so with a good feeling. I have enjoyed a great time here.

"I'm sure that they will understand the motives behind my decision if I leave."(Money)

Hulk, who is contracted to Porto until 2016, added: "The club and its fans will forever have a place in my heart.

"I can only thank them for all the affection they've shown me."

Is Hulk even that good? I'm not talking him down just cos he doesn't look like he's coming here but even time I've seen him he's done nothing to impress me. He reminds me a bit of Adriano but just not as good as Adriano was during his best days in Serie A. Hulk's got one hell of a shot on him but not that much else besides. I suppose he's physically imposing...? Can anyone who rates him explain why? I always thought of that Villas Boas Porto side Falcao was the gem in the forward line.

He's not 30m good. But he's good enough sure. Just don't play him and Sturridge at the same time. Poor Torres would never see the ball.

Looks as though this isn't the done deal everyone was thinking...

Hulk, 25, had been heavily linked with a £38 million transfer to Chelsea, with some reports suggesting the move would take place in the coming days.

Agent Teodoro Fonseca, though, denies a deal has been agreed with the west London club, with other parties also sniffing around his client.

"The Blues [Chelsea] are not the only European club interested and at the moment it all depends on Porto," Fonseca told Record.

"I am in permanent contact with president Pinto Da Costa but there have been no advances on this subject. The club want him to stay and we have received the offer of a new deal. If Hulk stays in Porto then there is no problem as he is happy in Porto. He has had three years of interest from big European clubs and he still plays in Portugal."

I hope it's true and it's some other club that want to spend a fortune on him. I just don't rate the guy.

There were a couple of recent reports about Chelsea going after Jovetic and Ben Arfa. We've been following Jovetic for a long time but maybe the club leaked the info to the press to put some pressure on Porto.

Or maybe when its so apparent that Chelsea are the only club who have vested their interest in Hulk his people want a stronger negotiation platform.

No one knows but I suspect what I say is true.

The highly-rated Olympic silver medalist has been the subject of much speculation all summer, and has now revealed he could be plying his trade in England's top tier next season

The 26-year-old, who has scored an impressive 52 goals in 96 league appearances for the Portuguese giants, has been linked with a number of club this summer including Chelsea, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

After representing Brazil at the Olympic Games, the forward has turned his attention back to domestic football and has listed England as one of his preferred destinations.

"I have left a door open for being transferred to another league," Hulk told reporters.

"I have preference for playing in the Premier League or the Spanish Liga, because they are the two leagues that are the most seen all over the world.

"I didn't talk too much with my agent about the chance of being transferred, because I have been on duty with the Brazilian national team at the Olympics.

"This could be the time for me to move. I would feel comfortable with moving clubs and the English league is one that appeals to me."

With a release clause of £78 million (€100m), it would appear that only the biggest clubs stand a chance of securing highly-rated Brazilian, and the striker admitted that discussions will take place with his agent at the beginning of next week.

He added: "I am going to talk about my future from Monday. My future is in the hands of God."

Every time I've seen him live he's been crap: trying to do clever stuff and failing dismally, falling over like a big girl and pissing away good possession with stupid shots from 40 yds that end up in row Z seat 129.

I am extremely unconvinced by him, I don't see it at all.

I was listening to Tim Vickery the other day and he basically said that Hulk isn't rated at all in Brazil, by most anyway.

He's never come across to me as a typical Brazilian player at all. More like a slightly more technical Heskey as someone else said.

This has happened every time I've watched him as well.

I actually have no doubt he'll be a success in England. Hulk has rarely impressed against an English club but nor has even a player like Ibrahimovic. He's direct, pacy, powerful ... I don't think you can go too wrong. The price, however, is bizarrely inflated and anything over 30 million is far too much of a question mark.

You would think that being picked as one of the overage players, with european and international experiences, that he would rip it up amongst the kids.

Hulk Goals - 1

He's whoring himself, begging somebody to come get him. Harry is missing from the scene. Else we'd have heard that Spurs had inquired about him.

News alert here in Portugal saying that Zenith has bought him, the price being talked about is a little above 60 million euros. Very bad for FC Porto, with the transfer market closed we can't go to the market to buy a replacement, I really hope that thecoach opens his fraking eyes and give Iturbe a chance.

The transfer being reported is 76 million for FC Porto and 8 million yearly for the player, no portuguese club can refuse these sums, big LOL knowing this player was bought from a second division japanese club.

So Zenit spent €100m in Witsel and Hulk all in one day? Wow.

I imagine Zenit said to Hulk "What ya gonna do...?"

Can't believe anybody in their right mind would spend that kind of money on Hulk.

I just don't understand the hype.
