Except Rooney isn't being a flat-track bully.
Yeah, he's absolute levels about Lukaku and scoring screamers week in week out against best teams.
Except Rooney isn't being a flat-track bully.
ThisPleased he's doing well. Bit like Phil Neville who left for Everton and was subsequently an important player for them. Hopefully he'll be crap against us and bang in a few against our rivals.
I was totally wrong.10 goals in 16 league games. I think he left at the right time but are those who were saying he was only championship standard prepared to accept they were wrong yet?
If Everton got relegated Rooney wouldn't look that out of place in the championship tbh. You can shout out stats all you like, but his general play is pretty poor.10 goals in 16 league games. Plus a good chunk of those goals are penalties.

It's a cold-hearted bastard who begrudges him his current run. Good to see him enjoying football again.
Good thing Everton fans are very happy with him overall and think he's been one of their main players then. Though I guess people see what they want to see, so despite him being a United legend, people on here will continue to criticize him for whatever strange reason.Nothing like some stat padding. Anytime I've watched Everton this season, he's genuinely looked very poor. I suppose he might get away with that kind of thing at Everton once he's getting decent enough numbers.
It always puzzled me how people on here slated him for everything and anything, very often the same ones that you will find glorifying Ronaldo despite his antics towards the club and SAF, embarrassing really.Good thing Everton fans are very happy with him overall and think he's been one of their main players then. Exactly this! It's beyond puzzling. It always puzzled me how people on here slated him for everything and anything, very often the same ones that you will find glorifying Ronaldo despite his antics towards the club and SAF, embarrassing really.
Two or three goalkeeper errors chucked in as well. He's missng pens and they're still ending up in the back of the net. Glad he's getting a good run of luck buy I doubt it'll last.

Generally stat padding is used to tell played scored some goals when the game is already won.
So far, he scored only goal against Stoke in 1-0 win
Their only goal vs City in 1-1 draw
Their only goal vs Brighton in 1-1 draw
Their first 3 goals in 4-0 win against West Ham
Their only goal vs Liverpool in 1-1 draw
Their only goal vs Newcastle in 1-0 win
Their 3rd goal vs Swansea in 3-1 win.
First goal Vs Arsenal to give Everton 1-0 lead.
You can say his overall game is not up to the mark but saying he is stat padding is wrong. He scored very important goals for Everton and without his goals, they would have been fighting relegation battle.
Absolutely. I have no issue with him either way. He's scored goals and fair play to him. But I've watched enough Everton matches this season and it's fair to say his all-round game hasn't been particularly good, in all honesty, though he has looked better in recent weeks. Anyhow, he's being productive for them which is the main thing, really.
That is a lot of rubbish I don't know where to begin with, Rooney stank the place? That same place was made a shithole by two shocking to mediocre appointments post Fergie, not because of Rooney. In Moyes's and LVG's first season Rooney was probably the best player in a squad full with average players, he stank feck all, it was shitstorm not because of him.Surely it's not that hard. If Ronaldo stank the place as bad as Rooney in the past few years, am sure lot of people would hate him too. Rooney slagged the club, flirted with joining a rival, and sat on a big contract while playing like crap, usually came into from pre-season not adequately fit, and continued playing crap. I think he also symbolizes the post-SAF era and the failed managers to an extent with Moyes giving him his big contract, and LVG with his my captain will always play irrespective of form and it will be hard for him to shake that off.
If after the contract saga, he had played well, am sure the hate would not be as strong as it is now.

Rooney didn't slag the club, he negotiated for a better contract by questioning the club ambition (you see stuff like that regularly by every player worth something countless examples of Messi, Ronaldo, Aguero, Hazard and god knows who else), and lets not rewrite history, back then Rooney was among if not the best player in the league. Ronaldo on the other hand openly talked garbage of how he wanted to leave, the Blatter stuff and how he was treated like a slave, then you can remember his slimy reaction and how he contributed to Rooney's sending off. There are lots of examples of fan favorite Ronaldo disrespecting our club and acting like a hypocrite he is, up till the summer he flirted with the club's name to get reassurements from Madrid, yet all the hate goes to our true Legend and the guy who will go in the history book as our record goalscorer.

Also scored in a 1-1 draw vs city
It is mentioned.
I remember United playing awful under LVG, there weren't many players better then Rooney in our team, last year he was in and out of the team, and he handled it professionally as he should have. I'm not saying he didn't decline, that is obvious but that isn't a reason for some people to disrespect him the way they did. He is one of our biggest legends and after some time passes people will reflect on him more fondly.Hmm guess I remember differently then. I remember him not playing well for long stretches the last 2 seasons. That along with the off field issues and you can see why people hate him. I consider Rooney as a Utd legend, and I hope he does well at Everton but I honestly get why some people still feel resentful towards Rooney.
Spot on about Ronaldo, he has always been that way, and is one of the reason I never liked him as much as some United fans. One thing about Ronaldo. If people are looking for club loyalty or affection from him, they will be disappointed. Ronaldo is the type who only looks out for himself. His personal ambitions come first, and he will respect the club for the platform it gives him, rather than a sense of gratitude to the fans or anyone else. So, be it Real or United, he doesn't give a feck and would definitely consider joining Barca or City if he felt it would help him achieve something he wants.
I don't necessarily condemn his attitude. What I like about him is that he is open about his selfishness and doesn't pose like a saint. He is what he is.
I think Rooney was a professional for the club, as was Ronaldo, but not really anything more than that. Those who slate Rooney but worship Ronaldo are definitely hypocritical considering Ronaldo is 2x more indifferent to United than Rooney ever was.
Everton very lucky to have him. Without his contributions, they'd be in relegation zone. 10 goals and 2 assists in 15 starts is excellent by anyone's standards, especially as he's not always been playing uptop.
People may chat shite and say his goals have been lucky/tap ins/pens etc, but you have to be in the position to score them.
Long may his good form continue, apart from when he plays against us.

You can't compare City and Madrid though. Like I said, if his performances did not decline after that incident, I doubt he would be remembered with so much ridicule. While the 3 bad years are fresh in memory, along with the other issues, it is not surprising that he is treated unfairly. A thinking once/if we get back to winning ways, and Rooney hangs up his boots, people will show more respect.Yet he didn’t leave and Ronaldo did. He never hid the fact that he always wanted to play for Real Madrid. Ten great years of Rooney and 3 bad years is much better than 2-3 great years of Ronaldo and then giving his best years to another club after United helped make him what he turned into.

Denis Law actually PLAYED for city AND SCORED against us in a game that we lost...yet he has a statue outside of Old Trafford.
Peter Schmeichel played for city
Mark Hughes managed city
Not all of our players are saints, but none of them faced Wazza's level of scrutiny.
If Law can play and score for city against us, I'd say Wazza is being slightly harshly viewed by some fans
