How could you possibly be content with this?

This is Ole Inners and Pogba fanboys day... let them have some fun and enjoy their delusion.

Don't you support United? Aren't you happy with us winning and scoring 3 goals?

Great result but I dont think Ole is good enough.
Our players didnt feel like moving their asses, in the first half, Ole made subs that totally turned the game around and we won 1:3. but your first reaction is to cry about Ole?

Sigh

This is pretty much how I feel. It's been a long time since we could play a shit game and still win 3-1.

No, it's not. Many games that we've won under Ole were shit games like this.

I don't think Ole is good enough but I'm definitely content right now. Still in cups and currently 4th with 2 points off 1st. This season I was not expecting a title challenge as the team is not yet complete. So Top 4 is the minimum and we are right on track.

By next season we should be looking to win the league title. If we do I'd be content. If we don't even challenge I'd still be content because by then Ole's contract would be over(unless Ed is stupid enough to extend)

Bizarre. Surely people are enjoying the win today? Or is everything these days distilled into Ole inners and outers or whatever.

And for as shit that West ham and Moyes are according to the OP they still took points off Man City, Spurs, Wolves and Leicester this season and tonight was Man United first away win v West Ham in 4 years so yes I'm very much content tonight.

No reason to let facts like those interrupt a good moan about the fact that we didn’t steamroll them for 90 minutes straight. Any half decent team going places surely would!

Too often we've played shite like today and rightfully lost, it is an odd bit of progress to see us play poorly and totally turn it around. There are plenty of positives about this teams, but there's a lot of issues too.

Is it not a day for Utd fans to be pleased with a great result at a ground we struggle at most years?

Wholeheartedly agree but people on here just want to be right.

Results are important but we don't look like a cohesive unit/team. We have no style and no one that goes on about progression can spell out how we've actually progressed except talking about some culture bullshit and how Ole has bought well even though we've spent crazy money on some absolute average players (Maguire and Wan Bissaka) and the rest were obvious buys (Bruno).

We change formations every other game, sometimes in the middle of the game. That's bad enough if our players knew what they're doing but they look like total strangers to each other most of the time.

When I see poisonous atmosphere here, I used to think, well, people are going to be avantgarde in a way. Today, I understood that it is not about different point of views or something like this as many people that they claim they are united fans became upset. Tbf, you are obsessed, you are just obsessed in your mind to see Ole getting sacked! You want to see this with your eyes with any prices! It is okay to be worried about our performance but is it reasonable to be pissed off because we won?

This thread will live or die based on what happens at the end of the season.

Some posters here have a imagination that under SAF we always played beautiful football and trashed teams left and right.

That wasnt the case. We're going places, stop whining ffs

I remember the days when watching us play used to be fun.

Did you like watcing the game on Tuesday? Becuase that was a very fun game, despite the result.

Or are you refeirng to the games under SAF? The man that coined the term "fergie time". It wasn't called Fergie time because we won 4-0 very game now was it.

I don't know what you want, but in 2020 no team has picked more points than Manchester United. So yeah, I guess its time to not only be critical, but outright miserable about this team under the current management. ESPECIALLY after a win. Another win.

I have lurked on this forum since 2012. It was one of the best places for any United related discussion. Balanced opinions and quality opposition fans. When we lost, it was taken in stride. There were still critical voices ("Attack the Space" , "Zombie Football"), but it was constructive criticism. At the end of the day everyone was a United fan and backed the team and the manager.

Now, it feels like a negative echo chamber. R/reddevils has become much more positive and balanced than Redcafe. If you want to criticize, analyze the game, bring out the reasons why we aren't improving and track those. Make the discussion contractive (although this needs less extreme reactions from everyone). Things like, Ole doesn't have "tactics", his substitutions aren't good, abuse of our own players (still remember people calling Rashford "Rashford" last season) is just mind-boggling. At the end of the day we aren't football experts, we don't know what it takes to be a top-level footballer or manager. So relax, and enjoy watching your team. Especially after the year that has been, its the least that you can do.

This basically.

I've been lurking and reading this forum for maybe 10 years, but didn't make an account until this year when I got tired of what I felt was unbalanced negativity towards the manager/team and I wanted to help offset it.

Maybe the beast has grown too big at this point, but @Niall, I would love it if mods/scouts could start actively giving out warnings or similar on the same level as likes if people are just rehashing broken record opinions after games without adding any substance for why they think so.

So many people saying stuff like "no patterns of play, we only won cause of individual brilliance" after every game. Yes, good players help and make it easier of course, but most of our goals are from 20+ passes in build-up play. That certainly seems like a pattern. Today we had 3 different goalscorers, and 2 of them started the game. Almost like a peptalk/hairdryer at half time may have helped to change the tide.

Warnings that might lead to temporary, and after repeated action, permanent bans. I've adviced lots of community developers through my job, and the one thing that usually makes it thrive is to be more liberal with bans to remove toxic elements. Seems counter-intuitive but it's not.

It can't be a good thing that if we lose a match, even the ones we probably should have won (like the PSG game, we were the better team), that a big part of the forum members stay away for days cause they can't deal with all the negativity.
I'd love to discuss about how we were shite if we lose and what needs to improve, but unless I'm blasted drunk I can't deal with all the pure negativity and toxicity towards the team, management and players.

And then even when we win there's still a substantial part of the members being similarly negative rehashing talking points they saw in a tweet from The Sun.

We've come back from 0-1 5 times in PL this season. I'm not cheering for us conceding first, but at least the players are not as snowflake as 50 % on The Caf, where there's a total meltdown if we concede a goal. A few seasons back - we didn't see these numbers on comeback over an entire season.

Some of you are some sad cnuts

No team ever can play well for 90 straight minutes in history

Maybe it's time you realize football can't cure your anger

How about some antidepressants? Oh, and stop making pathetic threads, that won't make you happy either

This.

I’m content alright but not happy to be honest overall. We are great at coming back and at least show spine and the league table is looking healthier but yeah that first 60 mins happens way too much for my liking. Think about it if we lost to Leipzig on Tuesday are season goes from decent/good to bad but if we get through it’s been a good start.
The performances are worrying as we have been woeful against big 6 sides this season

Decent result and nice comeback after a really tough loss in a very intense and draining CL game. Which was just three days ago, in a season that due to circumstances seems to be exceptionally tough mentally and physically for players.

Content seems exactly the right word for it, weirdly enough. Not over the moon, or brimming with joy and bullish that we're going to conquer the league now.

Ole Inners and Pogba fanboys are separate fanbase altogether. They simply don't want to be reminded about the managerial short comings and mistakes of Ole and how we have not been able to find a balance in the line up even after spending astronomical amount if money, how our defense has conceded so many goals despite having some of the most ecpensive defenders ever.

For pogba fan boys... the less saud the better.

We've only played 3 traditional top six sides so far, we lost one heavily, lost one by a goal and drew 1.

Better that than being a miserable cnut for no reason, like today.

Yeah I know but that is 1 point from 9 also they were all at home(albeit that is where we are shit) we are usually better under Ole than that.
As I said I’m content but this place could go into meltdown on Tuesday and our start will be awful if we lose. Can’t play like that first 60 mins Leipzig will be 3-0 up by then.

I am confident of a win in Germany and then yeah it’s been a good start but the levels are so inconsistent which is so annoying.

You have created logical fallacy and your construct proves your abnormal delusion.

There is no such thing as ‘OleIN’. We are just fans who support every aspect of our club and crucially we have no conflicted feelings when we win or lose. It’s a perfectly normal and healthy way to enjoy supporting a football club.

It’s now been proven beyond doubt that you and your ilk fail the test of being ‘a supporter’ as you are fundamentally conflicted when we win and lose. You do t experience the same pure emotions and you require our team to fail for you to find satisfaction and purpose from our club.

Try unraveling the ridiculous logic you are strangling yourself from. You’ll enjoy life a lot more!

You seem to be enjoying life to the max hanging out in threads like this and the Ole Out thread!

I'm content with this because I'm not a pathetic sad cnut with a fundamental need to be unhappy and angry at something I have no control over just so I don't have to face my own life.

This!

Ah yes I wish we had more real United fans like yourself who don't support the manager or team.

Totally agreed.

@Niall and mods: #SaveRedcafeFromMoaners

I've been browsing the caf for many years, yet I only joined a couple of years ago and barely ever post. Why? Because some of the fans on this forum are utterly toxic. The worst kind of spoilt, entitled moaning fans. The kind of fans we laugh at other clubs for having.

Constantly looking for any excuse to push their agenda. Upamecano comes to OT and puts in an absolute 1/10 performance and everyone's still raving about him. Meanwhile Maguire misplaces a pass and his thread gets half a dozen new posts. Team has a bad result, it's always the manager's fault. Team has a good result, manager has nothing to do with it. Manager doesn't make subs, he's clueless. Manager makes subs that directly win us the game, he got lucky. Should've started those players in the first place. Should've brought them on sooner, etc etc etc. You can't ever win against that mindset.

We came third last season against all odds. As others have said, we have form as good as or better than everyone else since we signed Bruno at the end of Jan. We've matched Liverpool and city point for point over a period of many months. We've just set then extended a club record of nine straight away wins. Even SAF never managed that. We only need a point to get out of a CL group everyone said we had no hope in. We're two points off the top of the league. And yet people want the manager sacked. It's just madness.

We've had some seriously impressive results at times against far stronger teams. We beat city, who have the tactical genuis Guardiola, three times last season. Apparently we somehow did this without having any tactics or plan whatsoever, according to people who don't know the first thing about football tactics. The kind of people that are such avid fans that they can't even stop posting on the site long enough to actually watch the team play properly. Far more important to live blog their opinion on every kick of the ball.

Why's he taking Cavani off instead of Greenwood? Why is Pogba still on the pitch? Why's Mata coming on, he's garbage! All opinions I saw shouted from the rooftops in the match day thread. All embarrassingly wrong. These are the people who shout the loudest about how the manager's a "PE teacher" etc.

Performances are a bit haphazard at the moment but it's a strange, demanding season for everyone and there's been so many unexpected results. Still loads of room for improvement, but when we click we tear teams apart and it's thrilling to watch in a way it's never been since SAF left. That doesn't happen by accident. Consistency is the hardest step to take, it's always the last piece of the puzzle. We're moving in the right direction and that won't change even if we lose the next two games.

(Sorry, long post I know)
