How could you possibly be content with this?

We play shite and lose, Ole gets stick

We play shite and win, Ole gets stick

We play well and lose, Ole gets stick

We play well and win, the 'individual brilliance of the players' is bailing Ole out...

No more need be said

It’s now fact that since Bruno has arrived (24 premier league games ago) no one has accumulated more points than Man United. I know that pains a lot of “fans”

Honestly wish the mods would start handing on warnings or even banning people for starting thread like this.

It's killing the forum.

agree with this on all counts.

you can just see the miserable ‘fans’ poised to post negative threads as soon as the match has finished, no matter the game/ performance/ result.

I assume the likes of RAWK have a let’s laugh at Red Cafe thread, and this type of things is golden for them.

On paper we're doing well this season but you have to think a top coach would be getting a lot more out of these players and not be as reliant on individual brilliance. Time will tell but it feels like we're delaying the inevitable with Ole.

One of the reasons United is such a historical club is we tend not to to things the easy way. We’re ahead of Lord Pep and two points of the flavour of the month in Spurs and Klopp’s ‘greatest side in history’. Also one point in our final CL group game will see us through a very tough draw. Take a deep breath and enjoy a good result.

I'm content with this because I'm not a pathetic sad cnut with a fundamental need to be unhappy and angry at something I have no control over just so I don't have to face my own life.

Promote this newbie! And give him/her Post Of The Year!

The first half was a hard watch but either people have very short memories or want Ole out that much that they ignore all context. A lot of mid table teams are very fit. They don’t have much quality so they have to be fit and work hard. Whereas we just played a very tough game against PSG only a couple of days ago. Now we were playing against a team who has always made things hard for us and who are having a good season.
Yes overall we can do better but the players are not machines.

Style of play, patterns... blah blah whine whine. Can’t complain about “in -game management” today so let’s go back to the tried and tested classics.

You forget to put 'players get stick' there. That too happened a lot.

Maybe that bolded part is actually true?
So today's game is all on Ole? Tactical masterclass? Tactical coaching at the highest level?

We've had 'top coaches' and they didn't get more out of our players so we don't 'have to think' anything.

HOW DARE WE BE CONTENT, REDCAFE!?!?!?!

@Di Maria's angel HAS SPOKEN

CLEARLY THIS 5TH PLACED WEST HAM SIDE, WHO HAS ALREADY BEATEN WOLVES 4-0, DREW WITH CITY AND OUTPLAYED LIVERPOOL SHOULD HAVE SAT AND ACCEPTED THE FIVE-NIL DRUBBING THAT JOSE OR ANY OTHER MANAGER WOULD HAVE HANDED THEM!!!!

HOW DARE WE IMPROVE IN THE SECOND HALF, AFTER PUTTING OUR TWO BEST PLAYERS ON, SUBSEQUENT TO A DIFFICULT MIDWEEK MATCH WE SHOULD HAVE WON AGAINST THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE RUNNERS UP????

I for one am FURIOUS and am penning a harshly worded letter to Edward Woodward as we SPEAK.

Back to thread, no I'm not content, but it's another comeback games, a win at that.

The overall football left much to be desired, but no doubts some players got that mentality  enough to get me past by all the shits and the growing acceptance of United fans into low standards of football, being delusional that Ole is the "right one" while doing that. It's like how Arsenal and Pool fans were before - delusional and hyper hopeful happy every season.

The OP was one of the strongest defender of Jose, btw. It is really hard to take his opinion at times.

Always moaning about the manager or the team. Should just go and follow the dude.

Even though we play trash, we are still only 2 points from the top so we should be content with it.

I'm content with this because I'm not a pathetic sad cnut with a fundamental need to be unhappy and angry at something I have no control over just so I don't have to face my own life.

Oof, laying out the truth!

I quite honestly think this squad is better than it is playing right now and some lack of consistency is partly the manager's fault but at the same time, this is a squad built on the backs of players like Martial, Pogba and Rashford who are themselves terribly inconsistent and Greenwood, who was on a purple patch last season even by his standards that are hard to replicate at his age.

I think we need to phase out a couple of this lot like Martial and Pogba to start with and get some consistent performers in key positions to make that step up.

Who is overlooking those first 60 minutes? Have you even seen ONE member on here denying that we were completely dogshit?
Being DogShite and yet still winning 1-3 away against an inform team.

Imagine what happens when we are good

If we are going to be quick to blame Ole for every loss, deserved or not, then it's only fair we should credit him for every win, deserved or not.

Great job Ole.

I swear the football forums are full of petulant kids now and people romanticising Mourinho.

All the grown ups have been driven out.

We've had 'top coaches' and they didn't get more out of our players so we don't 'have to think' anything.
Except those top coaches won trophies already within two seasons. One of the two won in first season.

Ole don't. Benefit of a doubt, at least not yet. This is his first 2nd "full" season. Then again, he already had a tryout winning two competitions in his first "half" of a season, and he blew the FA Cup, and continue not winning anything in the next season (his first "full" season). So result wise in terms of trophies, you have to ask. Sure, he got many good stats, is that enough?

The football from the previous two managers are terrible, and yet Ole's football is slightly better.
Is that enough?

If we say both of that are enough, then how much we're falling free fall into embracing lower and lower and lowest standards.

If we say those are signs (especially the stats) then we are finally reducing it to just stats. Why not actual trophies and high class football? Also other things that are used to support Ole, as a beating sticks to Ole-outs, such as "Ole improves the players" are already expiring isn't it this season.

The only good thing left are the stats and momentary wins and draws in high profile games. Until when is the question? Even the "Ole made good transfers" is already under threat.

I don't expect you to be rational when talking about this given your track record in Solskjaer threads. They won trophies and Mourinho also got us a higher league finish so he kind of did get more out of them than Ole. Sorry to burst your bubble on that.

Its basically how leagues are won. You can't be good all the time.

7 away league wins this season is not only about luck, and luck is no coincidence 7 league games on row. Go troll somewhere else !
What's the home form about? Covid? Injuries? Pogba?

Deserved or not? That's odd.

Meaning no criticisms at all at the things he and the players did wrong or poor?

Surely we can give credits to both Ole and the players, and still criticize them.

Its basically how leagues are won. You can't be good all the time.
It's how leagues are won if the need to overcome a bad performance arises let's say 7-8 out of 10 matches or so and that's being generous. It's not how leagues are won if a side is bi-polar almost on a weekly basis.

I'd love you to point out an irrational post of mine on any Solskjaer thread.

It's killing the forum.

I have lurked on this forum since 2012. It was one of the best places for any United related discussion. Balanced opinions and quality opposition fans. When we lost, it was taken in stride. There were still critical voices ("Attack the Space" , "Zombie Football"), but it was constructive criticism. At the end of the day everyone was a United fan and backed the team and the manager.

Now, it feels like a negative echo chamber. R/reddevils has become much more positive and balanced than Redcafe. If you want to criticize, analyze the game, bring out the reasons why we aren't improving and track those. Make the discussion contractive (although this needs less extreme reactions from everyone). Things like, Ole doesn't have "tactics", his substitutions aren't good, abuse of our own players (still remember people calling Rashford "Rashford" last season) is just mind-boggling. At the end of the day we aren't football experts, we don't know what it takes to be a top-level footballer or manager. So relax, and enjoy watching your team. Especially after the year that has been, its the least that you can do.

Thing is, I thought we all agreed about having a rebuild, which we have done and we have seen how it has gotten progressively better, both in terms if on pitch talent and play. There are games we had last season at the start that we called good that would look disjointed today.

We can go toe to toe with big teams, we have depth. We literally tore the whole thing down from 2018 and have had to build it up. Remember that Mourinho team was ddg valencia bailly smalling shaw/young Pogba Matic mata mhiki rashford/martial lukaku. Of those starting positions, almost all have been replaced, we ve even reduced Pogbas role as we plan to sell him and have seen growth from rashford and shaw( who is competing for his place now). Its a rebuild. It would be us judging fergie's teams in the 80s, the only difference now is that our larger budget allows us to change the squad more quickly.

I dont mind threads like this on days like today haha

its only under threat because people that feel their die is cast and they look like an idiot when we are top of the form charts need to invent new angles.

its actually mad that we have simultaneous agendas saying 1) ole doesn't sign the right players and 2) ole is only winning because bruno fernandes is one of the best players in the world

That's it in a nutshell and a very tiresome routine played by some posters on here.

9 away wins in a row something United couldn't achieve under Ferguson in the PL and had to show great character to win a number of those games.

And for as shit that West ham and Moyes are according to the OP they still took points off Man City, Spurs, Wolves and Leicester this season and tonight was Man United first away win v West Ham in 4 years so yes I'm very much content tonight.

This is Ole Inners and Pogba fanboys day... let them have some fun and enjoy their delusion.
