Television House MD

Isn't Wilson gone too? It's gonna be weird without those two. It's going to be the last season right?

Just watched it, strange 1st episode for the season...

I thought the first episode was excellent, actually. Really liked the ending. It's not often I'm "had" by the end of a TV show.

Like the new doctor's role in it, too.

9:15 and no House? what the deuce? Why am I watching Terra nova and not House? Although this show does have that hot Indian gal who experiments with lesbianism in Mistresses.

Because baseball is gay and lasted 48 minutes over.

Terra Nova is bad, but there are some attractive girls in it.

I love this programme. I'd not seen it before and watched all seven seasons in summer. Hugh Laurie is such a charismatic actor, I can't believe this is the same actor who played Prince George in Blackadder so beautifully.

Saw it earlier. Clever episode. Seems like they're settling in for the season ahead.

I'm undecided on Foreman being the Dean. On one hand it's going to mean excellent battles between him and House for supremacy --particularly because he can pop House back in jail whenever he wants-- but it also places him above House which seems wrong. Is Foreman actually smarter than House? We've spent 7 seasons being told why he's not so for him to suddenly have to be written as smarter than House seems a tad stretched.

I like the majority of the new changes. Season 8's really freshened things up. On this evidence there's life in the old dog yet. I admit I'm a huge fan of show which may cloud my judgement a bit though. I bit wary they're going to try and overcomplicate things though to try and create plotlines out of nothing. Today's gifts thing is what I'm talking about.

All of that said, it'd be nice to have a few more familiar faces on the show. It feels really odd not to have Chase in every so often.

No-one is smarter than House surely?

Olivia Wilde leaves? :( Was hoping for a nice double team with her and the new doctor (the one from the prison)

Just watching last nights episode after having finally caught up to House.

It's got Michael Scofield in it :D

Again, I'm undecided. It'd be kinda cool to have House deal with someone smarter than he is. In the same way that eventually all his team get wiser to him, it'd be nice to see him have to do the same.

Then again, the show is pretty much entirely based around the fact that House is the most intelligent person in it. He's a drug addict, he's mentally and emotionally unstable but he's intelligent, always. Should they mess with that?

She's a big time Charlie now!

Yeah, usually the opening sequence is a bit difficult because you're not sure which one's gonna fall ill. Wasn't difficult this time!

Really enjoyed the first few episodes. The new doctor lady from the prison is stunning.

Also quite like the Chinese girl, adds a new comic element to the show.

Charlyne is almost like Masuka. She is funny.

After she got the shoe gift,"Do you want me to wear this while you masturbate or what?

Foreman as Dean isn't smarter than him. He's just more important than him. Cuddy was never close to being smarter than House, but she was the dean of medicine so she called the shots even if she was hindered by her relationship with House.

Foreman gets to be House 2.0, minus the drugs and leg. He's more reasonable, but he still has the tendencies of House to go for results over ethics.

When it was announced there was a new Dean, I thought it would be Wilson, never considered Foreman tbh.

Shame 13 left though, she was excellent in it

I've read it's the last season, yes. The new format has perked it up a lot,but I'm biassed as I love House!

I really enjoyed the show too, never missed an episode for ages, but just lately have gone off a bit. For me the best bit of the show wasn't about Cuddy and her fine jewish butt(oh and what a fine it was too), or even Cameron or 13, but the dynamic between House and Wilson.

Still a good watch, and better than a lot of the dross out there, but I think things have run their course.

This season has been really really good. No real reason to cancel it when it's doing so well. And yes I want Chase back too!

It's always better for shows to go out on a high, IMO. The Chinese awkward doctor grates me. Less of her and more of the other one

Shame about 13 leaving. At least Wilson and House are pals again.

She is called Chi or Dr Park in the show, her name is Charlyne Yi. call her one these and fecking stop with the Chinese girl comments. I respect some of you too much for me to allow you to keep going this route while you are calling everyone by character name.

 To be fair, I don't know the name of the hot chick doctor as well. It takes time.

I think you've stumbled onto my point without getting what I meant. Also, use spoilers!

House is more intelligent than Foreman. On one hand, Foreman knows how House works; similar to how Cuddy knew him from med school. However, House cares a hell of a lot less about Foreman than he did Cuddy, although Foreman can place him back in jail. Put simply, Foreman's power over House is significantly less than Cuddy's. Foreman's also inexperienced which might lead to mistakes (hypothetically - this is a TV show!).

As such, it seems like Foreman's only defence mechanism against House would be to outsmart him. The threat of putting him back in jail is nothing without knowing House is taking him for a ride.

It's an imbalance in the show that I've yet to decide whether I like or not. Interesting to see how it pans out, at least.

Same here. I daresay it's poor writing in the show. It makes sense in terms of making the story more interesting but in terms of taking the story into account, it shouldn't happen.

What was the 'storied' reason behind the character's departure?

13 - Terminally ill, wants to be happy in her time remaining. [In reality she's getting roles in feature movies which she's taken to advance her acting career].
Cuddy - House drove a car into her house, which had her child in. She chose to move away from that "past". [In reality her contract wasn't renewed, for whatever reason. Can't remember.]

Actually I read
Lisa Edelstein refused to take a paycut, although Wilson and Foreman didn't. She is now a regular in the Good Wife

Ah yeah, thank you. Yeah, this was the first time the show had a budget cut and LE refused to take a pay cut so she walked. Fans have taken this as a personal insult and blamed Hugh Laurie. How could I forget that hoo-hah?!

Cheers for that. Jogged my memory!
