Television House MD

I'm loving this season so far. The shakeup has done the show a good service. While it always through an element of surprise, a few years with the same people doing the same job meant it lost a bit of that. I feel it's got it again and it's still got a long way to go now in terms of the stories they can come up with.

The last series had promise but in the end was a huge disappointment with the last episode being utterly ludicrous. The new series started out silly and has now become boring. I loved House but it is now a huge example of jumping the shark. I'll probably watch to the end of this series but if it isn't put out of it's misery this year I won't be back.

I think this season's been better than the last 2 so far.

I haven't even finished the last two episodes. It's just.. a bit boring.
Same. I am happy as well, I find it hard to stop watching good series when they turn shit. I am one bad arc away from stop watching Dexter as well I hope.

That was a fairly funny ending.

But I seriously pay no attention to anything being said when Odette Annable is on my screen

Chase and the hot doctor are going to get. it. on.

I'm jealous.

The ending was awesome.

This season has been so much better than the previous two. The House-Cuddy thing was derailing the entire show.

The show is much poorer for the loss of Cuddy. Yet another rubbish episode. I'm not sure I'll make it to the end of the series TBH.

Yeah, I've found it to be very weak this season. Some of it is like sketches, such as the hot doctor smashing up the room and House opening the wall into Wilson's office. The show looks to be on the slide to me.

Disagree. The last two (?) seasons have been blighted by the connection between her and House. Now she's gone that storyline isn't even an option which is brilliant. It feels like the show has finally moved on. Fair enough some, such as yourself, don't like that but personally I find it refreshing.

Personally I really like this season so far, no more Huddy drama that was derailing the whole show.

The show is plainly in it's death throws which is a shame because it used to be brilliant. It has been declining for a while of course but the ludicrous end to the last season was a death sentence IMO.

I think the show has gone much more back to basics.

I enjoyed the original few series because they were focused on the medical mystery rather than the character drama. Seems like this new series is a throw back to the old. Which is nice.

I don't know, I honestly disagree with that. What they definitely have done is stop trying to appeal to their entire fanbase. Some people hate this new series (Brophs is one of those people by the looks of things ) but others have found it really refreshing.

Maybe if you step back and enjoy it for what it is you might see what we're seeing? At the end of the day it's only a TV show so you might as well enjoy it while it lasts!

The problems are that a) the two new doctors are dull and one dimensional, b) the medical stories are dull parodies of previous cases, c) Cuddy hasn't been replace with anything interesting, d) the bizarre sketches are silly and e) the shark has been jumped.

a) Like everybody else there except House, b) not sure about that, c) she wasn't that interesting in the first place, d) and funny, especially the one with the wall which had me laughing out loud and e) that's your opinion.

It'll probably be the last season but till now it's been a really good one.

Like I said, I think it's just a matter of personal opinion. For example, I'd argue that:

a) They're no less dynamic than Dr Cameron was and both have a lot of scope for development, b) There are only so many ways that they can write the same storyline just with different ailments so they've gone back to the ill person a bit more this season, c) Cuddy herself was worse than interesting - her and House were mind-numbingly tedious these last two seasons, d) I wouldn't call them sketches and I think they're funny and e) That's your opinion and you're entitled to it.

It used to be that House was the one show my household would bechanging out to watch. Now my wife and son never watch and I keep the show for when I have nothing else to watch. Viewing figures have also declined quite dramatically suggesting that many agree. Of course it is an opinion, that is what such threads are about.

Another poor episode.

Dissociative identity disorder with cancer? Seriously?

Poor is being kind. It had nothing going for it in the episode. Just a poor story with very few laughs, but even then they were scrapping the barrel

I just love it , I will be honest

Me too, I just can't see this fall in quality that the others see. My opinion is that people are just fed up with the whole plot, medical puzzles that are being solved by House. Yeah it's repetitive but Hugh Laurie gives us award winning performances as House in every episode.

Yes exactly . He is just so mesmerising that you don't really notice what else is going on. Considering its all about a genius eventually diagnosing a potentially fatal disease every week for nearly eight years , it still grips me

I very much doubt I'd ever get bored of watching house, I don't really watch it for the medical puzzles, the strength of the show is in it's characters and the humour.

They could have Gregory House and Wilson open up a pet shop that sells nothing but hamsters and I'd still watch the bloody thing.

it is extremely formulaic at times, and I do roll my eyes when every other episodes when a patients brings up a social issue, that the doctors will take opposing views on it, normally because of some deep rooted character flaw to be uncovered before the end of the episode.

But I don't really care. Predictable as it is, it still entertains me.

Last nights episode was very amusing , great writing for House and Wilson

I think we may be the only ones who still love this show. I love the new characters and I don't really watch this show for the medical crap they spew out, but the interactions between them. The best show in that regards. Some of them lie with such straight faces that I think they may pass a lie detector.
