I had to lower the difficulty from Ultra Hard to Normal as I was getting owned. They are just relentless in their attacks.
it's the best looking game ever. I can't think of anything else that comes close.
You're all insane. I play this on easy and still the fights are challenging enough for me. Then again, despite getting shit loads of practice I keep sucking at video games.
I imported Demon's Souls back when it came out in Asia, found out it wasn't really for me. Despite that I tried Dark Souls when it came out, and found out nothing had changed. I like a reasonable challenge in my games but I also like to limit the frustration, so nah, I think I'll just stick to playing stuff on normal or easy and enjoy it for what it is.I think having played all the darksouls, nioh & Bloodborne, gave me a slight advantage.
One thing all those games punish (out of many) extensively is greed. Certainly improved my reactions & my patience to an extent..
I'd reccomend all of the above
I have both games, on PS4 Pro with a 55 inch 4K TV. Horizon looks better.I think AC Origins imo, that blew me away on my standard xbox one. Love to see it on max settings PC.
It's typical that the games that you want DLC for have little while the games that you couldn't give a shit about dlc wise never fecking stop.
Me too Annoying asshole that one.I'd love to see this on a 4k HDR set. It's perhaps the best looking game I've ever seen on a "regular" 1080p set but by all accounts the 4k HDR is ridiculous in this game. I'm even considering getting one but they're still so expensive. Just beat Redmaw yesterday, that was some battle!
Glad you're enjoying it.Horizon is a stunning game and I ain't playing on the optimal settings (47" 720p). I will definitely get the DLC because it's been a joy so far, I'm doing everything as can to play the main missions as slowly as possible . I don't want it to finish
I hate Stalkers @The Bloody-Nine : well worth the hype definitely
Next game pleaseGlad you're enjoying it.

I gave up on thatIn the frozen wilds..
My god that rockbreaker fight is tough
although once you get the upgraded Stormbreaker you can pretty much smash any enemy to death in seconds.
I got it first to but it took a solid 15 minutes. Anything is doable with the shield weaver armor though. I think when I do play it again I'll try without using it.Personally think Horizon Zero Dawn is a better looking game than AC: Origins. The latter is fantastic still but the weather affects / environment for HZD is on another level.
I gave up on that
That thing just murdered me so hard.

DLC is great but if you have limited time, it might not be good value since it's pretty big. Around/over 10 hours of new content. So Horizon Zero Dawn is €25 on PS Stores 12 deals of Christmas. is the DLC worth it to shell out for the complete edition €49.99 (bearing in mind I got a PSVR and limited time in general to play).
The add on is 16 quid at the moment, so 36 in total as it stands. What's in the complete edition that beats that? I'm talking pounds obviously....So it's definitely worth getting the complete edition over just the standard one? I'm tempted to put out the £20 for it on the PS Store...
A shame. I think the variety in the game comes from all the different weapons you pick up along the way, and the increasing difficulty of the robosaurs you encounter. It's easy to just keep using the bow and ignore the other weapons but that really limits the game.I've been playing this for awhile and have started to delve deep into the main storyline, and I think I'm going to have to close the chapter on this one.
Objectively speaking, it's a good game and I really enjoyed the first third of it. But after a point, you're doing the exact same thing again and again, and side quests/narrative just isn't strong enough to justify the size of the game IMO.
I wish I could finish it but it's gotten too tedious now.
Probably a better idea to collect some more resources and come back later. Fire arrows aren't going to help you much as I couldn't even get him to light up spamming triple-shot fire arrows or fire bombs. Tearblast arrows to remove weapons and hardpoint or regular sharpshot arrows to damage his weak points when they become visible are essential in my opinion. I also threw a bunch of blast sling bombs at him. This game is all about bringing the right tools for the job, if you're under equiped it's always going to be a struggle.I’m struggling with the final boss fight. It doesn’t help that I don’t have enough wires to craft more ammo for my more powerful weapons so I’m basically left with my basic and fire arrows and 7 minutes left to kill the bastard.
The problem is the save always bring me back right into the fight so I can’t go back to before the fight and get better weapons.Probably a better idea to collect some more resources and come back later. Can't you just go back to an earlier save? On my system it has four rolling quick save slots, another four rolling auto save slots plus whatever manual saves I've made. When did you hit your latest camp fire quick save? The problem is the save always bring me back right into the fight so I can’t go back to before the fight and get better weapons.
So I managed to defeat the damn thing. Went into my inventory and saw that I had some unopened treasure boxes which gave me some wires. I managed to craft 10 sharpshot arrows which damaged him enough. Then I spammed the normal arrows on the guns on his shoulders. And with 5 seconds left the bastard fell. It was like watching United scoring a late winner under Fergie again. So feckign satisfying. Can't you just go back to an earlier save? So I dipped back into it and am intent on finishing the main storyline now. But I have no interest in completing the side quests/other quests, sadly. It's a very good game, but I just feel it lacks 'something'. Maybe the fact that it's very borrowed and has released only shortly after one of the games it has borrowed from (the Witcher 3) results in ineivitible comparisons. And it's never going win that persception battle with that game. Combat is definitely more fluid and detailed in Horizon, but I just feel that to an extent, other than the main storyline which is quite good, nothing meant anything. That's the key difference for me and what I wished they had worked more on.A shame. Also the story is really good too!
Anyway isn't that sort of.. most OWG's? I mean The Witcher 3 (obviously the better game) was far more tedious in its combat than this, with admittedly better quests.
The lighting engine in this game is ridiculous.
Did my first cauldron last night. Jesus that was tough. Took me about half a dozen attempts to beat that fireback thing and i only just scraped past it then.
Tbh it's probably because it's the first point in the game I've had to make use of the dodge roll after being accustomed to sniping from the tall grass for so long. Suppose it will come in handy as i go on.
The realisation that there was no cover in the area though was akin to Homer realising that the gay bar had no fire exit.
I try not to compare other OWG's with The Witcher 3, because they'll never win (well, until I start BOTW!).So I dipped back into it and am intent on finishing the main storyline now.
