To me it is laughable because as explained yesterday, three previous managers have praised him multiple times regarding his training and work ethics - regardless of his performances in matches.
It's written on the wall that his struggles are of psychological origin, not a physical one or an attitude problem.

Exactly, I don't really see why some posters are dismissing the possibility out of hand. If you sign a player that has a history of psychological/mental issues and then a situation presents itself that could very easily (perhaps even most likely) be explained by the already known history of these sort of issues should you really be surprised?

Was always against this transfer for this very reason. It's like signing a player with a history of injuries and being surprised they get injured.

He wasn't 'absolutely shocking' though. He was bad yeah but certainly not to the degree that he deserves to be frozen out ever since. Hell we had 7-8 players on Sunday that played worse.

This is a world class player we are talking about here, he shouldn't need eased in against fecking Burnley.

No its not.

Good. If Mourinho doesn't think he's mentally up for a Derby then why should he play him? I trust Mourinho who works with him everyday than a bunch of random people on an Internet forum.

If he had a great attitude and showed it in training he would be starting, but he's not. End of.

If our other wingers were performing you could possibly let this slide a little, but our wingers have been terrible all season. I really can't see any logic in him not at the least being on the bench, especially with Mourinho confirming he isn't injured.

No its not.

So the best player in the Bundesliga last season isn't world class? OK then mate.

It just goes to show that we're better off signing less high profile signing and scouting markets less known.

Verón (did alright actually), Berbatov (mixed), Kagawa, di María, Falcao, Schweinsteiger, Memphis and now Mkhitaryan.

Solskjaer, Johnsen, Heinze, Park, Vidić, Evra, Carrick, Chicharito and Blind are priceless signings.

It's getting silly now. May as well have thrown another £30m down the toilet. Wtf is going on at our club?

It might make sense to play him against Burnley rather than against the side he had a nightmare against.

If he doesn't play against Burnley though....

It's fair to say we're currently a shambles. I honestly don't even get hurt by rival fans taking the piss anymore, as we deserve it.

Was gonna say the same thing. If he's as mentally fragile as people say giving him his next start against the same opposition he shat his pants against in his last match wouldn't be a brilliant idea.

It's such a load of shite that people are blaming him and not Mourinho.

If we "bunch of random people on the internet" knew that he had emotional problems like this then how would Mourinho not know that?

If he did know, he still signed him.

So basically the guy comes in, starts a game, does badly and suddenly the decision is "feck him off, not doing well in training".

So he's not doing well in training, as a result of his mental problems; which if known to Mourinho makes it Mourinho's fault for signing him, and if not known to Mourinho makes it even more embarrassing for him.

Our new manager just isn't perfect. Some of you need to come to terms with that sooner rather than later.

He had a world class season, no doubt. But so did Jamie Vardy, and I didn't want us to sign him either, and certainly wouldn't call him world class. Mkhitaryan's 27, it took him three years to settle in at Dortmund (who showed a tremendous amount of patience towards him, and who he got almost single handedly knocked out of the Champion's League in 13/14) the sort of time he'd never get here and he has well publicised psychological issues of performing under pressure. I'd say he has an awful lot to prove before you can start calling him world class.

Why does it have to be one or the other?

Now the more trusted journos are getting on the case. Surely someone can ask mourinho a question about him. So sad that we have such a talented player unable to play for us at all. We are cursed sonce fergie left.

Get a fecking grip mate.

Our performances have been a shambles mostly because our players have no balls.

Playing Mkhitaryan hardly seems like that will change things. Mourinho works with him everyday if he shows the right qualities in their time together he starts. He obviously doesn't.

If we are playing diamond, it makes sense to go with Mata than Mkhitaryan given he hasn't played much and is just returning from injury. Should have been on bench though.

You can believe what you want, I personally think we're a total mess right now.

That's something Fergie would have done though. Give him a chance to prove him wrong.

If our suspicions are true and the manager simply has no faith in him in such a game, then Micky should really be worried.

Sorry, seems as if I misunderstood your post. HM was worldclass last season though, we have to agree to disagree on that account. :)

I do understand that Mourinho doesn't play him against City or Liverpool or Chelsea from the beginning. What I don't understand that he doesn't even get 20 minutes as a sub against Fener or Leicester.

But you don't know if he isn't mentally tuned in, that's just guess work.

Why do you personally think he's not getting a sniff then?

If we doing things right he would be starting surely?

Mourinho isn't just going to bench one of our supposed most talented players for fun is he?

The thing is, besides the City game whenever he got a chance he played very well, especially that game against Hull.

So this "not doing well in training" doesn't make any sense. Miki is ten times the footballer Lingard is.

IT MAKES ZERO SENSE.

I couldn't tell you mate. I find the situation very odd. He has been training for a month now, and training fine by all accounts from what I've heard and read. If it was up to me I'd of played him against Fenerbahce in some capacity. Hopefully he just wants to bring him in when the pressure is off a bit against Burnley on Saturday. If he isn't in the squad then though I firmly believe he will be gone next Summer unfortunately.
