To me it is laughable because as explained yesterday, three previous managers have praised him multiple times regarding his training and work ethics - regardless of his performances in matches.
It's written on the wall that his struggles are of psychological origin, not a physical one or an attitude problem.
Exactly, I don't really see why some posters are dismissing the possibility out of hand. If you sign a player that has a history of psychological/mental issues and then a situation presents itself that could very easily (perhaps even most likely) be explained by the already known history of these sort of issues should you really be surprised?
Was always against this transfer for this very reason. It's like signing a player with a history of injuries and being surprised they get injured.
He wasn't 'absolutely shocking' though. He was bad yeah but certainly not to the degree that he deserves to be frozen out ever since. Hell we had 7-8 players on Sunday that played worse.
This is a world class player we are talking about here, he shouldn't need eased in against fecking Burnley.
